Just what you would expect in a Diner. Breakfast was excellent. Service fast and friendly. Will defiantly dine here again when in Stillwater
Awesome food at great prices. One of Stillwater's best values. Can't wait to go back and get the Chicken fried Steak and gravy, it is delicious. Make sure to get white gravy, yum.
Food was well seasoned and cooked to my request. Hygiene from the cooks was very good. Time from ordering to services was good. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Will return.
Love the food and the old school diner feel! Breakfast and burgers are always good. Friendly staff, quick service. You can go on your lunch break and get in and out pretty quickly.
Delicious diner food. Get the chicken fried steak, it is really big and delicious. Cant wait to eat there again. Sometimes I get the country breakfast and that always fills me up. Good coffee too.
In this episode of Blog Catch-Up, we go to Stillwater. Last October, we had dinner at Shortcakes while visiting Stillwater. All of us got breakfast of one kind or another except Ian, who had CFS. I had a bite of it, and it was pretty good. I had a Country Breakfast, which was eggs, bacon, hash browns, and pancakes. All excellent. Raegan had eggs and bacon.
Good prices & decent food!. I heard a lot about this place so a friend of mine & I decided to try it out. First thought walking in, it felt like a place where the "usuals" come & have for years. There isn't much room for seating but it works. It was a very relaxed environment despite the smell. I can't put a word for it but it wasn't pleasant. Ordering was quick & easy, food preparation was quick (you can watch them cook). They don't use fancy utensils more like your grandma cooking back home. The food was DELICIOUS! Would I visit again? Maybe not but it was nice to try out. The smell really got to me & I wouldn't say it's the cleanest place...referring to the ceiling, stove & etc. things that wouldn't pass inspection in my opinion but it's still a nice place.
Good food, good prices. A friend and I went here before a football game recently. The whole time we jokingly referred to it as "feet & cheese" (see another reviewer's comments about how he felt the place smelled).
We were pleasantly surprised. Is it the best breakfast food I've had? No. Does it beat the iHop down the street? Absolutely! We received good portions and the prices are outstanding (my coffee was a buck, which seems unheard of anymore). The place is very small, only about 8 small tables with a counter as well. I admit, it isn't the most spotless place in the world as it looks like it has been around for awhile, but it definitely fits the greasy spoon moniker. I would certainly recommend it for those in the mood for breakfast food (though I believe they have other items as well).
The Quintessential Greasy Spoon. If you have ever been to an old Wafflehouse, you know what to expect. The menu is expanded to include pancakes and chicken fried steak.
Love the food but It smells overwhelmingly of cheese and feet. We couldn't stand the stink so we left
Triple D!!!!. If Guy visited this place it would win greatest Dive ever. I love this place. It's such a beautiful dirty hole and the food will always fill you up for under ten bucks. They have daily specials. I'm not sure if they're trying to get rid of old food or if it's made special with fresh ingredients. What's so great about this place is that it doesn't matter. It's the greatest Dive ever.
24 hours!. I'm not as in love with the food as my friends are, but I'm in love with the 24 hoursness of the place. That lone, along with it being superior to IHOP and Denny's makes it worth a "like." That and it's cheap.
Good for what it is.. Def not gourmet or anything special. however its good food for a fair price and its open 24 hours.
Yummmmmm. Shortcakes is not high class, it's not super clean, it's not gourmet food. Shortcakes is great service, a genuine diner and awesomely greasy diner food! Oh and CHEAP! It's painful buying coffee at other restaurants for $2 when shortcakes is only $0.40! This is legitimately one of my favorite places to eat in Stillwater, whether there's been alcohol consumed or not!
Great breakfast. My husband and I go Sat or Sun morning. Reasonable prices.
Good when a buck of you and your friends are drunk and starving late at night! Remember DD!
A Must try at Least Once. Shortcake is the best diner ever! I've lived in Stillwater all my life and had the honor of patronizing this place since I was a teenager. Shortcakes is super cheap and wonderful after-bar-food. It's open 24/7 and is best late late night. You must try this diner if you are ever in Stillwater in the middle of the night.
Love it for what it is!. Pancakes... big as dinner plates (an awesome!)
French Toast... 'da bomb!
Why are you still reading... go there now... they never close!
Had the Orange Plate Special yesterday, Ex Husband Chili. You can tell the bowl was huge, it was a great meal.
It was excellent! I don't think I've ever had better chili.
I'm allergic to watermelon so my husband enjoyed that with his French Toast and big breakfast.
Wonderful experience. Food was delicious, a must go too place.
I was just there for the first time ever after being requested by my friend for their birthday, and it was by far the best food I have eaten since I went to the copper kettle up in Michigan like 5 years ago. The whole experience was awesome, made me feel like I was in the 1900’s and I was in high school going there with my friends.
Had a wonderful time here. Solid breakfast with wonderful friendly staff. Been here forever I hear, but still going strong. Big cups of coffee too. Just what we needed.
Loved this restaurant when I was little/Jr high school. Rip my grandma who I would come stay with we went here almost ever day I was down here...always good food
My family loves to eat there. Love their food! The people who work their we consider to be friends. Most of them my family has known for many yrs now.
