For the past 8 years, I have been fortunate enough to be a “friendship family” for teachers who come to Kent State for one semester. The teachers are among the brightest and the best from their countries and they are selected after a rigorous application and interview process. I have brought teachers from...Jordan, Lebanon, Ecuador, Indonesia, Kenya, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Uganda, Bangladesh, Brazil, Egypt, Senegal, Tanzania, Mexico, Ghanaand Morocco to Handel’s for a treat...they love it! One said she didn’t want to back to Senegal until she had tried every flavor. Ricardo, a teacher from Brazil, said he missed me AND the coconut ice cream!
Of course, I have also been there so many times with my grandchildren on the way to the red playground (we always called it red and white)....
To sum it up, even if it is kind of cold outside, we stop by when we have time. It is a special treat for some of the international teachers who do not have ice cream stands in their countries. But for all of us, it is the best ice cream, consistently. The staff is courteous, helpful and patient.

Everyone loved the Handel’s Ice Cream Pops at the grad party this weekend! Such a great treat and Bruce was so accommodating. Highly recommend this sweet surprise for a special occasion!

I had the deep dish apple pie ice cream last night and it was probably the best ice cream I have ever had!
I've been to the Stow location 3 times this week. I'm hooked! It's officially my go-to tasty treat place from now on. I absolutely love that they offer a complimentary pooch cone. Their graham central station flavor is my new addiction.

First time there out of my 22 years of life and they are the BEST!!! Fresh made ice cream everyday. I had the chocolate and I tasted it and I thought I had died and went to heaven. Mondays they have a special which is $1 a cone I believe it was.
We took grandkids here after Zoo Camp. Excellent ice cream and great selection for all. My favorite is Dark Chocolate Ripple with peanut butter as ripple. Kids enjoyed Chocolate and Vanilla with sprinkles. My husband had Cherry Vanilla milkshake. Always delicious ice cream!
First time I went here and they sure didn't disappoint! So glad I went after my tonsillectomy to reap the benefits! I got a 4 scoop sampler (left to right, top to bottom: strawberry cheesecake chunk, black cherry, red raspberry, and black raspberry).
Hubby got a double scoop chocolate waffle cone (he's thinking of a battle plan to prevent drips).
Very delicious, very fast service!
We were almost the last customers to visit this place. They extended their very good hospitality. The person took our order patiently and promptly came back to deliver the ice creams. 5/5 for the hardworking personnel in there
Portion to price ration is perfect or I should say high. I took blue monster and it was extremely delicious. Damn, I will visit this multiple times. And everybody else should visit until they finish trying all the ice creams they have… perfect 5/5 for Handles! 🙌🏼✌🏼
Best ice cream in town. Usually has a line but the emoyees work quickly to make sure everyone is served fast.

I love this place they’re the only ones around it has bourbon flavored ice cream and it’s 110 proof too! Hell yeah
