Called in to order a cheese pizza to be collected. It was topped with a good amount of cheese, not too much and not too little. The tomato sauce had a good tang to it. My only complaint would be that there was too little sauce on the pizza and this caused it to be an extremely dry pizza. Good cheese, good sauce, good crust. Just add more sauce guys!
Update - been back a few times and it's better now. Honestly my favorite cheese pizza so far.

Grimaldi's Pizzeria is located in First Colony, just outside the First Colony Mall. They have two other locations in the Houston area; one in the Woodlands and the other in Katy. This fast-growing Brooklyn-based pizzeria also serves brick-oven pies & calzones to satisfied customers in a dozen states nationwide.

It's no wonder Grimaldi's Pizzeria is a fan favorite here in Houston as well as all over the country. With over 100 years experience in making specialty pizzas in coal-fired brick ovens, Grimaldi's pizzas are distinctive, authentic, and just plain good! I was soon to find out how true that statement is!

When you walk into Grimaldi's Pizzeria, it's like being transported back to classic New York City. The red brick walls and red-and-white checkered table cloths set the stage for the journey on which we were about to embark. The local subway system signs are a great touch that let you know you are still in Sugar Land.

The brick pizza oven sits in the middle of the restaurant like a shrine. By the time the aroma from the oven hits you like a ton of bricks (pun intended) it is too late... you are in too deep.

When we stopped by Grimaldi's on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, it was plain to see that we weren't the only ones who had discovered this wonderful Italian pizzeria. Every table was full of happy people enjoying the day with friends and loved ones.

We ordered a couple of Peronis, which is a definite must when enjoying great pizza. For our appetizer, we decided to try the Antipasto, which proved to be a great choice. As you can see in the photography, this beautifully-presented plate was an arrangement of fresh Mozzarella, oven-roasted sweet red peppers, Genoa salami, olives and fresh-baked bread. I definitely suggest the Antipasto for starters.

Now, you know how I feel about my salads! Grimaldi's House Salad was suggested by our server, so we went with that. This tasty combination of romaine lettuce, red onion, cherry tomatoes, oven-roasted sweet red peppers, mushrooms, Sicilian green olives, and savory vinaigrette was delightfully fresh, crisp and full of flavor. The cherry tomatoes were like little juice bombs bursting in your mouth and the red onions gave it that spicy tang that is making my mouth water as I write this!

As we enjoyed the salad, the first of our two specialty brick-oven-pizzas arrived and what work of art! It was such a thing of beauty that I almost didn't want to slice it up. I said almost. We had ordered Grimaldi's Pizza of the Month, the Prosciutto Arugula Specialty Pizza. This classic white pizza was topped with sliced prosciutto, a shaved cheese blend and fresh arugula. Unbelievable! I absolutely love white pizzas and the Prosciutto Arugula was exactly what I had been hoping for. If you aren't familiar with white pizzas, you don't know what you've been missing! I find they have a much lighter taste and with the fluffy, crispy crust... it's something special.

Now for my go-to. I had to try my personal favorite, the pizza I always order when I'm not trying to jump outside the box; a traditional New York thin crust spread with classic tomato-based pizza sauce and topped with pepperoni, meatballs, mushrooms and jalapenos. This precious, crispy treat was so rich with flavor it made my cheeks pucker. The house wine was the perfect compliment to this marvelous brick-oven gem.

I just love the refreshing vinaigrette side kick from the salad in between bites of such a rich pie. Then, a sip of wine and I am thrown back to the old block in a New York minute.

You can tell that Grimaldi's uses only the finest, freshest ingredients, an element which I feel separates the good from the great when it comes to pizza.

We had ordered a large pizza because it just doesn't feel right to leave an awesome pizzeria without a few slices to take home, right? In my book, enjoying the perfect pizza pie is an all-day event.

Time for dessert! And, if I thought our meal couldn't get any better, it did! Grimaldi's Pizzeria offers a variety of delicious, decadent desserts. Now, I usually order a couple anyway, but at Grimaldi's I recommend you get the Dessert Trio. This three-dessert sampling includes the house-made cheesecake, Cannoli, and Tiramisu. I know it sounds lame, but I really can't recommend just one as each one has its own unique flavor and texture and all are simply irresistible. For the best dining experience at Grimaldi's Pizzeria, I suggest you take your time and enjoy everything this new Houston favorite has to offer. Unlike the fast-paced city in which it began, this pizzeria fits right in with our laid-back Texas culture... so just relax and make it an all-day festivity!

The gourmet of pizza. Pizza are amazing and don't forget the olives! Great appetizers too. Seems a bit over priced though but over all good.

The pizza is good and not greasy. Although, I think it is slightly overpriced. Also, they primarily offer only "normal" pizza toppings. Still a good place to go.

A great place. Friendly wait staff and a nice restaurant. Kids loved smashing their own pizza dough. Kids loved the piazza (we did too) and their salads were great. Will definitely be back.

Great Everything. The salad was large enough for two people. and delicious. When we started to order the waitress informed us of that. The crust texture was firm enough to fold and enjoy. Yes, we could have eaten it by holding it stright out and holding the tip as we bit into it. The herbs were so aromatic that your mouth waters as the pizza is placed before you. Excellent pizza, just thinking about it make your mouth fill with flavors from the experience. You will return to have another. Service has been excellent like the food.

Good but.... I loved my first time here. The crust was thin and crispy, and the toppings were delicious. I absolutely loved the pizza! However, when I went back another time, I got a pizza with sausage and pepperoni, and it was drenched in oil. It was hardly edible with so much oil it pretty much became soggy. I asked the waiter, and he said "What did you expect with so much meat on it?" Horrible service. He didn't even try to help out in any way, and just made it out like it was our fault for ordering bad ingredients or something. I never had such oily pizza before, so it was definitely not because there was "too much meat". I haven't gone back since this bad experience, but I might give it another shot later on.

This place is really good. I like when you walk in the very new york feel to the place. I really like the glass bottles hanging from the ceiling its really pretty. The pizza is pretty good. I never been a big fan of New york style pizza but the pizza was actually really good. The only thing is if you want to have dinner there come early because after 7 o'clock you end up waiting for 45 mins to be seated

Our 30 minute wait turned into an hour wait. At least 6 parties of four were sat before our group even though we arrived first. The hostesses did a poor job in managing parties greater than four. The food was great and waiter did his best to make sure the rest of our evening was enjoyable.

Great place. Everything about this place is just really cool. The atmosphere is always a perfect laid back type, but not too loud. The service has always been at least good. The bartenders are always quick and friendly.

And of course, we try to get a large meaty pizza here at least once every couple of months. Just a great pizza. Nice combination of quality ingredients, juicy sauce, and crisp crust. Great location too!

Good pizza BAD SERVICE. When we got there everything was ok. I asked for a water but later on I changed my mind and asked her for a pepsi. It was not busy at all and she did not bring it to me. She forgot. She seemed the whole time bothered to be serving us. For a while she disappeared. The whole restaurant felt pretty unwelcoming actually.. The pizza was was good though. Not the best pizza I have had but the taste of the crust was good (which is important for pizza) So I give it an 8 But service 5. We also ordered a salad which was huge and it was good too.

NY Pizza in Texas. As an avid pizza lover I must say this pizza is VERY GOOD to not be in New York. They filter the water they use in their crust to that of NY and it realy makes a difference. Their is another supposed NY pizza place around the corner that is horrible. If you want GREATTT Pizza without having to fly to NY try this place.

Best pizza in town The pizza was perfectly thin, and had a perfect amount of everything! Service was great, nothing horribly wrong. I just took off one star because it took a bit long, but it was worth the wait! The atmosphere was very good. The workers were friendly, and the area felt like a real New York pizza shop. 🍕 5 stars ⭐

This is how pizza should be made, coal fired oven is 7.6 out of 10. Crisp-charded pizza is the best.

I really wanted to try authentic NY pizza, but I've never been to NY. I was told that Grimmaldi's quality was very close, if not spot on. What I can say is that it was delicious, and it's my favorite pizza spot now. They actually do filter the water to make the sauce taste good. The cheese blends in perfectly with the sauce and the meat. The coal fire created a thin, crispy crust that complimented the sauce perfectly. I can't say how authentic it is, but I can say it's very, very good and worth a trip for anyone who likes pizza.

First off, we were really surprised when they handed my 3 boys their own pan with slices of pizza dough and flour on it. They had an absolute blast playing with the dough and really sparked some great conversations at the table with them. It made my wife and I happy to see the kids being happy and playing with pizza dough...so creative and unique! Secondly, the food was delicious. It did take a while for the food to get to us, but the waitress said that they were short staffed, and we were so busy having fun at the table that it was not too big of a deal. The food: my boys got a traditional 16inch pizza which gave them two large slices of pizza, about 4 pieces of we were cutting it at home. They did half pepperoni and half cheese. They ate it up and we're full afterwards. My wife and I did a 16" calzone with chicken and bacon. We couldn't finish the calzone because we were full. The calzone was refreshingly delicious! I wanted to have artichoke in it, but adding other toppings bumped the price up quickly, and I can't remember if artichoke was an option. Overall, great experience! We stuck with waters because it was so hot outside and our bill stayed under 60 for 5 people.

Staff is courteous and welcoming. Ambience is good. The pizza came out quick. Having pizza here will make you realize the difference between fast food chains and a real authentic pizza place. Coal fired pit will definitely make a difference to the crust. That generous olive oil drizzle and quality of cheese will make you devour the pizza in no time. Ahhh that feeling after the first bite! Absolutely mind boggling for pizza lovers!! Just keep on chugging until you go till crust. In short, worth a visit 😇

This was my first time going to this establishment and I didn't really have high expectations from it. I ordered this pizza called "The Don", which is a tradition New York style pizza topped with Italian Sausage, Meatballs, and Pepperoni. I've been to a lof of pizza places in Houston, and I can say this is one of the three places(Luigi's & Frank's) that I would definitely recommend going to. I was really surprised with the quality of the pizza in terms of the crust, cheese, sauce, etc. It was really delicious since it cooked in a coal oven, which gives out that smoky taste. The balance in flavors have been consistent, that the dough and other ingredients complements each other perfectly. Our server, Destiny, was super nice with the ordering process. Overall from the customer service to food, it was an amazing experience. Like I said, I've been to lots of pizza places, and I can say this tops well with Luigi's & Frank's in terms of quality and services.

This is one of my favorite pizza places. They will allow you to split your pizza according to your preference. I don't eat beef or pork so my half was spicy chicken sausage cheese spinach bell peppers and mushrooms. My husband's side was every meat they offer plus mushrooms lol. This is a costly pizza spit, but I think it's worth it. The pizza is baked in a brick oven. The brushetta trio and ceaser salad is really great. They top it with shaved parm.. Check it out.

You guys have mastered pizza into another level!! Ever since I entered this place I felt a nice and calm atmosphere. Clean as it can be. Our waitress was nice and friendly at all times. We didn’t had to wait too much to get our food, about 10 minutes or less, once we have ordered. Price range per person is 30 to 50 usd. Things that I loved, family next to us had 2 beautiful kids, they manage to give them pizza dough, they seemed so happy, I almost wanted to ask one for myself! There was just a slightly inconvenience we experienced, although we could see some empty tables, the hostess made us wait for a bit longer (about 10 minutes), it was until I took some pictures that they assign us a table. Otherwise, everything was great.

Great New York Style!!!! We try to get by this place as often as we can. They have the best Pizza's around in the New York Style. The setting is nice with murals and pictures of the City. Kinda makes you feel like you are there. Crusty, good ingredients, not to heavy to pick up. Great staff, very helpful. Give them a try!!!!
