Tried it for the first time, the service was great, honest critic of options. Ibhad the ElRey, dish with ribs etc and Burgers were big...we thought this was the old Rudis, but we were actually happy to try this out and we were pleased..give it a try, great food.
El Vaquero is located in the community of Greatwood. This place has great atmosphere and is the favorite Mexican restaurant of many neighbors in Greatwood. Their staff is super friendly. We ordered the El Rey fajitas and they were full flavor. The portions are generous. My husband and I shared this plate. As a realtor in this area, I like to try local restaurants to support our local families. This is one of them. You should give it a try if you are in the neighborhood.
First time here. Plenty of seating. Is Monday though. Wife ordered the cowboy combo. She was able to get some of all her favorites. Ordered the pablano fajitas. Sooo yummy. 8 year old daughter ordered the hamburger kids meal (of course kids come to Mexican restaurant and get a burger) didn't try burger but fries were Hella good. Service was great.
This is our favorite Tex-Mex place! Great food at good prices. Go to the El Vaquero side if you're with the family, but check out the Cantina side if you're out for date night, it's a completely different vibe (quieter, darker) than the family side. Daniel is a super friendly bartender and always quick to serve. The entire staff on both sides is friendly and accommodating!! I highly recommend stopping in!!
I was reading good reviews about the cowboy combo so I tried it. Best fajita chicken ever. The place is clean, staff is very friendly and the wet kiss drink is amazing.

Alma and her team are phenomenal. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the staff was great. This is also one of the few Mexican restaurants I know of that has wonderful healthy food options in addition to all of the classic Mexican dishes. I will definitely be coming here next time I am in Sugar Land.
This place is well hidden! Get the frozen margarita with Tajin on the rim! Drinks are awesome, food is 😋 delicious!
We LOVE coming here. Alma and Pedro are the sweetest and always take care of us! Honestly, the entire staff is friendly and the food is great and priced fairly. Margaritas are awesome too! This place is a perfect example of a family-friendly restaurant and treats my kids so well! I couldn’t say anything bad about El Vaquero and know we will be coming here for years to come.
We were sat pretty quickly and served chips and salsa shortly after. We ordered mixed drinks that were also really good. The food came out quick considering that it was a busy night for them. The food was hot and tasted great. Recommend 100% I'm usually not impressed by Mexican restaurants anymore but we happened to stumble on this one while on a date night and I am glad we did. We will definitely return.
