We had a birthday last week that you made a cake for and I can honestly say I have no words to describe how fantastic it was. Your creations simply are melt in the mouth fantastic. Your shop is 40 miles away but you are the only bakery on our radar.

Mmmm mmmm Good. First and foremost, I'm big on customer service and good results. I'm writing this review to praise Maureen and her bakery for a job very well done. Approximately two weeks ago I custom ordered (online) a cake for my second wedding anniversary. Maureen called within the same day to inform me that some of my choices wouldn't be possible (for good reason) and provided me suggestions. I told her that I would like to meet in person so that we could really hash out the details, and she was more than willing.
I arrived at Maureen's Bakery located at 5530 W. Grand Parkway South; Richmond, TX. 77406 and was warmly greeted by Maureen, herself. I wanted to design a cake, similar to my wedding cake, in both color and flavor. So, I decided on a 10-serving round cake with turquoise buttercream, almond cake, and ganache filling. Maureen said that she would decorate it with swirls and flowers; it sounded perfect. I asked her if I could pay in advance and she agreed. I was expecting a semi-large blow for such an opulent cake, however when she gave me the total ($30.00) I was in disbelief.
The day I was scheduled to pick up the cake Maureen called me and told me that she was unsure about the flower color...in terms of the cake's aesthetics. I agreed and asked her to use a pink. She replied, 'oh good, pink is good'.
At approximately 3:00pm, I went to the bakery to pick of the cake and was amazed by its beauty. The buttercream was perfect (almost resembling fondant) and the flowers, designs, and message were ALMOST too pretty to eat.
When my husband got home I showed him our wedding cake 're-do' and he was amazed. He asked me if I spent as much as our wedding cake and I laughed...no.
After dinner we returned home to feast on the cake. Oh my goodness, it was delicious. The almond cake was beautiful, light and airy. The chocolate ganache filling was thick and rich (not cheaply done), and the buttercream frosting was heavenly. My husband made a comment on how well put together (by hand) the cake was and took several pictures for memories.
I HIGHLY recommend Maureen's Bakery to anyone wanting to make a celebration extra special. I am going to continue spreading the work and giving her my business for years to come because she deserves it!
The fruit-topped cake I purchased was the best cake we've had in many years! My guests loved it as well and everything about it was top-notch - moist, flavorful with fresh fruit and very appealing. It was worth the 23-mile drive and we will gladly go back again when in need of a great dessert!
Absolutely wonderful. We needed a cake in a hurry for the weekend. Maureen's assistant and herself were knowledgeable and patient. Very calm and helped us make the best decision for our party guest size. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a personalized cake for small or big parties. The icing was perfect and the cake itself was dazzling. I am thankful for their help and will definitely be back soon.
We needed a cake for my daughter's 9th birthday. Maureen made a beautiful cake with yellow roses for the occasion and it tasted delicious. The price was very reasonable and the ordering process was very simple. I would happily order more treats from this lovely bakery.
I needed brownies, in a classic cake shape with cream cheese icing. I walked in the store at 12:00 and picked up my special order at 3:00 the same day. AND it was delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone! Wonderful customer service and it tasted great.

Decided to get a custom cake for my birthday last minute (1 week before). Every place I called needed 2 or 3 weeks, just for a birthday cake!! So in desperation decided to try Maureen's. So glad I did! It only took 3 days for my cake and it looked just like the picture, it was beautiful and it was super moist and overall very yummy!!
It was almond cake with amaretto filling and buttercream icing, it was verrrry delish!
The lady who helped me was very helpful and friendly. I plan on using them again!!! Would recommend to ANYONE looking for a reasonably priced, delicious custom cake for any occasion!!
I love this place, they make very soft and yummy gourmet cakes for the half the price of other gourmet bakeries. I showed a picture and cake came out to be prettier than the picture. Best of all cake is so moist and yummy....so many of my guest asked where the cake was from. Highly recommend this place!!!
Bought vanilla and chocolate petit fours, they were larger than the norm, great tasting for a great price.

Maureen did a fantastic job making and designing our daughter's horse cake. The cake tasted wonderful! We will definitely use Maureens again. 5 stars for sure.

I ordered the carrot cake and it was deliciously decadent. The shop attendant was nice and the bakery was clean and well organized.
