Amazing experience overall. The food was fantastic the service was courteous and quick. Large variety of flavors even if you don't prefer spicy food. Very clean with a good atmosphere and the music was nice and not to loud.
CHEAP DELICIOUS FOOD!!!!! We had veg pakora appetizer, 3 entrees with rice, 3 orders of roti, 1 order of naan, and 2 raitas for $38! If I remember correctly, most entrees are $8.95
The food was good and so were the portions for the price, and the buffet spread was good too. They also have an adjacent Indian snack place owned by the same management called "chowpati", have tried it yet.
The new management has turned things around for the better. The original owners (Mr & Mrs Patel) did a great job getting this place up & running. The new management has taken the food up a notch - the buffet spread has a wide variety of Indian dishes (not only from North India but also from Western India), service is prompt and courteous and the ambiance great. Worth a repeat visit .... frequently.
Absolutely loved it! Great food and good customer service. Had a fantastic experience especially with the savory/flavorful food! I live in Austin and there are plenty of Indian restaurants but very few that are authentic. Cafe India is by far one of the best I’ve ever had in terms of being an authentic Indian Cuisine. I had the Lamb Madras with Garlic Naan and Samosas as appetizer and both were exquisite! Also, I was quite surprised by the number of Papadums they provide as a complimentary snack! Most restaurants only give 2 at most. The owner (Sultan) came by a couple times just to check on us and I thought he did his part on being a good host. Had a few pleasant conversations with him before leaving and he seemed genuinely friendly! Overall, a great experience and will return whenever possible.
We had catered food and we were very satisfied with the pleasant experience. Management was very cooperative and flexible in picking food items. Food was very delcious and our guests loved the food. Food was prepared exactly per our requirement as far as oil and spice level. Quantity was more than expected. All in all, we recommend the catering and dine-in at Cafe India.
Food is FRESH came out piping hot. We ordered the Lamb Ceylon, butter chicken, chicken 65 and navrattan vegetables. All were savoury sand flavourful. 4 stars only got ambiance. I had to ask to turn on music.
Service was attentive. We will be back.
My girlfriend and I thought we would try Indian food tonight so I looked on Google maps and found a few places by us and Cafe India had the best reviews so we thought we would give it a try. This place has amazing food! I even ordered an extra order to take home to my husband because it was so delicious. The service was also wonderful and I cannot wait to go back!!!
Absolutely great food and great hosts. They made us feel as if we are family having dinner with the occasional chit chat. The Mutter Paneer and Chicken Sweet Corn Soup is amazing. My 14 month old son has 1/4 of a bowl of the Chicken Sweet Corn Soup (so get the kids in as well)...
I stopped in for Lunch one day this past week and was pleasantly suprised. I have sampled a few of the Indian restraunts in the area and found the lunch buffet to be well presented, the food flavorful and appropriatly priced. This is not a real upscale place, but when go out to eat it is about the food and not the napkins. I will be returning to Cafe India.
We eat at several very good places and this is among the best. Good quality food, prompt service and overall a pleasant experience. Would recommend to anyone who wants to try flavorful Indian cuisine.
I've been here during the buffet time and there is a great selection of Indian dishes to try from. It is also nice that you get unlimited naan bread with your buffet. Staff are friendly and accommodating.
I eat here often because of the tasty dishes and high quality ingredients. Many restaurants like this are good when they first open but soon after the quality falls off. But, not here! Food always is fresh, good quality ingredients and with flavor that's hard to beat in Houston! My favorite is the Kashmiri chicken korma, if you don't know what to order, you might as well order this. Along with chicken biryani(rice), and naan(bread). You will thank me after you try the food there.
