Love that Sullivan still has a charming, past time place like the Newstand!! My favorite is Banana Sprite and you can't get it anywhere else!!
Great local place to eat.
Fantastic central location.
Fun nostalgic decor.
Delicious food.
Friendly service.
We had the cheeseburger and fries, chicken bacon ranch quesadilla, chicken tenders and fries, biscuits and gravy, ice cream cone, and 2 peices of pie (butterscotch and coconut)! Everything was fantastic (fries were average).
The food was amazing and I am stuffed. Three people could be fed well for 25$. The family is so welcoming and nice. The children came and sat with us and talked about horses and it was overall a very fun time.
Neat little place to eat located on the Sullivan Square. Prices seemed reasonable. Food was pretty good. They have pie available, but I was most excited to hear that they will be adding some pretty cool milkshakes to the menu this week. We'll see if it brings all the boys.
Coolest diner I've been in for a long time, there should be more like this. It's like walking on the movie Grease or Happy Days lol. Great atmosphere, super friendly staff, I never had to ask for anything the waitress was always taking care of everything. The biscuits and gravy I had was home cooking and was great. The eggs were cooked just how I ask and the coffee was fresh. I love the decor and the old icream soda bar was still being used and was awesome. Just a really cool place to come for ice cream, coffee or dinner for the family. Hope you enjoy your visit.
Best food in Sullivan! I almost always get the catfish dinner (it's amazing!), but I got breakfast this time. Also amazing!
I'll be honest in this review. I didn't eat anything here. I simply got a cherry coke. I wish I had pictures but I'm in the area frequently so I'll update soon. The Newstand is right out of history and I say this with the utmost respect for the decor. It's an old style diner with all the old style decor. They have tables from the actual 60s and 70s with most of what I can tell the original tops. The smell in there was amazing. Like home made soup. They had at the cash wrap some baked goods that looked like something my grandmother would have made. I felt right at home there and I can see this being THE spot for most who live in the town. I cannot wait to go back.
Very friendly staff and great food! Definitely a "must try" when you're in the area.
Lunch for sisters and mom day. We had the seafood special of fish, shrimp and frog legs. We enjoyed it and Reminiscing about the collections of memorabilia on the walls..
