Really delicious and authentic TamilNadu style South Indian food. Expect a higher spice level but it’s not overpowering. Highly recommend the medu vada which is deep fried donut shaped balls made with lentil paste. They go really well with sambhar which is a lentil dish with tamarind and vegetables. We also got the Saravana Special Dosa which is pretty large - so good enough for two people and is stuffed with potatoes, onions, peanuts and spices. Have it with the trifecta of chutneys - coconut, tomato and coconut cilantro chutney. We also really liked the cheese dosa - it was a bit of a surprise for us as we had never tried this combo before. It went really well with the sambhar and chutneys. The Mysore masala dosa was large but standard. Idli was soft and fresh. The filter coffee was super authentic! Served in their special steel tumbler which I love. The portion sizes are decent (vadas are large) but the prices are high. If you dine in, you can enjoy the fancy ambience. Keen to try their other items.

Really yummy “chola bhatura” - flavourful chick peas curry and a kind of delicious bread. We reached just 10 minutes before the closing time at 9:50 pm for late night cravings. The staff was accommodating and quick in service. We got our order in just 10 minutes. One downside which came to my notice was a smell which may turn you off. Overall great experience- good and quick service, good food..

Saravana Bhavana, Sunnyvale branch is hands down the best place for South Indian food. They have the best Rava dosa, special meal and are pretty consistent with the taste and quality. The ambiance is the best there is, reminds you of those darshinis back home. Filter coffee in the stainless steel is a Icing on the cake. It’s so good, I often end up getting two of them. Customer service is excellent. A special shout-out to AR who goes above and beyond in ensuring everything is good and is enthusiastic in her job which brings a smile to your face. P.S. This place deserves extra Love and attention and a deserving top place in the Bay Area for South Indian food !!

This was a good decision after a hike in the nearby Rancho San Antonio park. Ever so amazing thali: where the standouts were rasam, sambhar, pineapple kesari among other things. The only special thali item that I was underwhelmed by was the dal. Filter coffee was amazing as well. You may want to add half a packet of sugar to the one they share. The dosas did seem very pricey generally stacking at about $15. Good service overall.
