4 for dinner on Sunday night. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Arrived hot and as ordered. Service was prompt and courteous. Really only one black mark needs noting. It is a very small venue with small outside patio and when we were there they featured a guitar player/ vocalist and it was quite loud both inside and out. The performer was very good however didn’t fit the room. Normal conversation was difficult. Overall we will be back.
I had to deduct a star due to my most recent experience. The food was still exceptionally good but the service was hor-ren-dous.
We went to dinner on a Thursday around 7 with four adults and two kids. It was pretty busy inside and outside there were about four tables full but five four seat tables open. Instead of pulling the tables together to fit us all, the hostess made us wait about 30 minutes. Yes, we were so close to leaving after 20 minutes but we decided to stay since we had hungry children with us (and adults). I was hangry (hungry & angry) at this point, a good hostess would've done so right away. However, some good patrons that didn't get their food yet decided to move to a smaller table for us. That was sweet of them.
Then we had the waitress with no personality help us. She got all our drinks but took a while to get mine since they didn't have red sangria. She just seemed annoyed since the moment she helped us. Then she took our orders, the food came out at a decent time, the food was amazing but she disappeared. The weird thing was, the restaurant wasn't busy anymore. Maybe she went to take a break? To make matters worst.......
One of the adults didn't get his food at all. We were almost done with our food and he had to get up to find her to find out where his food was. Low and behold, she forgot to put his order in. So another ten minutes goes by, he got his food, but we were long finished with ours. She didn't come check to see if we liked our food, she didn't even apologize for forgetting. I didn't get her name but she had a European accent. The hostess was clearly a high school student with no experience.
Since I've had great experiences before and the food is always spot on, I decided to just remove a star since I'm nice. She got the owner/manager because our guest that was with us decided to complain about the situation. The manager comped him his meal but was kind of condescending stating, "yeah, we suck, we forgot your food." We are grateful for that but come on now, this was a horrible experience so far. We don't need the extra attitude.
Another cherry to the topping, the waitress gave us a hard time with splitting our check stating we would have to get up to go inside to pay half cash half card. What?! Never had an issue splitting checks elsewhere in this day and age. They either need to get a new waitress and train the hostess better or they might lose customers.
Ok, back to the food. I got the kaboom shrimp taco with fries and cole slaw. That is the only reason why I didn't deduct more stars. Would I return? Sure. But it may be a while. I used to be a regular, maybe not so much now based on how our overall experience was.
This restaurant is great! Very generous portions, reasonable prices, and great variety on the menu. I had the grilled salmon with the Mediterranean sauce and it was so tender. The rest of the table had the fish tacos and fried shrimp with great reviews! Calamari was very tender, but a little salty. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely return here!
What an excellent seafood restaurant in this unassuming Sunrise strip mall. The manager told us that they literally had a fresh swordfish that they caught an hour ago on ice! The servers were friendly and took our orders quickly and efficiently despite our party of 7. Grilled swordfish for us to sample came out with our appetizers. It was a big hit and a couple of my co-workers changed their orders. I ordered the salmon and I was so full from my tuna nachos that I barely touched my salmon dish.
Food was very tasty and I would venture up there just to go back to eat at Tin Fish.
First time here at tin fish . What a experience it was , the customer service and the hospitality we received from the crew and our waiter was phenomenal. I had the grilled grouper, I didn’t think it would of been that good but it was amazing! The veggies as well was delicious. My wife had the fried snapper ! It looked amazing!
Overall great experience, great environment!
Excellent place for a seafood lunch. Great service and attention by the staff. Ordered the whole fried snapper (37 ounces) with the oriental ginger sauce on the side and a side dish of rice. Also had the corn shrimp chowder. All the food tasted fresh and was expertly cooked. The portions were ample and satisfying. The staff was very friendly and explained all of the choices. Will go back again and again. Nice place!
Great place with an unique atmosphere that gives you the sensation to be in from off the ocean.
For is fantastic, my complements to the chef!
Service is great, the staff, through fantastic interactions really show customers that they love their job.
If you like sea food, this is your place!
My daughter and I were in the area, after getting the go-ahead from her pediatrician, so we decided to give Tin Fish a try. We'd seen their menu on yelp. I wanted the oyster po-boy and she wanted the kids quesadilla.
We got there right as they opened and our server Todd greeted us immediately. We get the menu and neither item is on it. No worries, Todd checked with the chef and he could make them for us.
I usually like my oyster po-boys with just mayo or an aoli, so I was a little nervous when it showed up with two sauces already on and one of them was a hot sauce. I never eat hot sauce. I'm so glad I forgot to ask about that before, because I would have had them leave off the sauces and would have missed out. They worked perfectly together and with the sandwich. The chef even came out to ask me how those sauces worked on it. In addition, there had to be a dozen oysters on that sandwich!
My daughter loved her quesadilla. Yes, it was just cheese, but you'd be amazed how many times she's ordered that and it's been terrible! She said this was cooked perfectly and nice and cheesy!
For dessert, my daughter got the salted caramel cheesecake and I got the fresh strawberry bread pudding special. Please excuse the bites taken out, I forgot to take the picture first. The chef came out to ask me if I wanted real bourbon sauce on the bread pudding, and of course I did! Both of these desserts were roll your eyes back good!
Service, food ambiance were all perfect! Our server, the manager and the chef all checked on us throughout our meal. It was a perfect little celebration for us. We will definitely be back!
Chef Joseph Melluso is amazing. I love his place. The staff is always nice and friendly. The Food is always great. Fresh, delicious and made to order. Joshua and Todd are the greatest. Anything you need they go a step further to make your dining experience great. They have a full bar also. Make Tin Fish your first choice. You will be happy you did.
recently had the pleasure of dining here ,and I must say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service that set the tone for a great lunch meeting
Had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. The calamari appetizer was perfectly cooked and delicious. The jumbo fried shrimp were very good as well. Will definitely come back when I'm in the area.
My sisters took me for my birthday. Always wanted to go. It was definitely worth the wait. The shrimp tacos were nice sized & very deelish! The crinkle cut fries were seasoned. Don't know with what, but I really enjoyed them! We also had a slice of cheesecake for dessert..so smooth & tasty. It cost a few bucks but I think it was worth the trip.
We celebrated our dad’s 92nd birthday there. The food was exceptional and service was fantastic. Randy, the manager, took excellent care of us. We eat here often and it never disappoints. The fish is fresh and delicious. I highly recommend Tin Fish!
