What a treat this place is! This was our first "igloo" experience, and it did not disappoint. We were toasty and warm in our igloo, and the fire outside was well-tended and hot. The entire experience, from beginning to end, was excellent. Staff were friendly, everything was neat and clean, and we even made some new fireside friends. This is a destination we will definitely be returning to...with friends!
This place is awesome! The outdoor spaces are expansive and varied. There's a patio space with a large fire pit that's always lit, then a woodsy area adjacent with its own bar and tons of seating options. There's also a sand pit for kids/families, and an event space. It also looks like another bar area is currently being constructed (August 2023).
We didn't try any food, but we had a couple beers and they were tasty. We will absolutely return next time we are in the area. Don't skip Hop Lot if you enjoy a good beer and a chill vibe.
Stopped in on a rainy Saturday afternoon so we didn't get to experience the outside beer garden. It was super packed, but they had a nice big tent out back with college football on the big screen and plenty of seating. Loved all the beers, definitely recommend the Smash Face pumpkin ale, 90 MPH Backwards hazy IPA, and Uncle Green Guy session IPA. We also enjoyed the Pickle Fries. Rain let up right when we were leaving and they were starting some fires...we'll definitely be back to enjoy that outdoor space on a dry day!
Fantastic outdoor space. Tried the German Pils and Papa Pete's Cerveza. Both were tasty. They were backed up inside so we went to the bar outside, but had to order with a QR code. The table service was good, but too many steps to order a beer on my phone. I would have had another but didn't want to trouble with the QR code.
Gorgeous place. Great vibe. Went there on Sunday. Major downer was they had no smoked chicken or wings. I look forward to coming back and enjoying everything.
We stopped to try a couple tasty stouts and to check it out. We're glad we did. The ambiance at Hop Lot Brewing Co. and Beer Garden is wonderful. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating in either shade or sun. Onsite corn hole game boards and bags. Looks like they have entertainment, too.

This is an update: arrived for dinner with 7 family members to find out that 1/2 the menu was unavailable! There is no warning about this online anywhere! We were told the oven broke 3 weeks ago so there were no burgers, tacos, bowls. It made absolutely no sense to us as there were wings and some smoked items. We were amazed that the management didn’t just buy a grill as many patrons were very surprised by the no burger announcement! We stayed but I must say the portions of the pulled chicken and the pork and beef were quite smaller than usual(perhaps because all were forced to order the only available options?). A very disappointing ride of 45 minutes each way.
This is Always my true destination in Suttons Bay even if the lake is beautiful and the town is sweet! I had a great burger on a pretzel roll and it was really delicious and seasoned correctly. The beer is tasty and the ambiance of the north woods with fires and lights can’t be beat. I love the great service I got with special attention to ingredients for a food allergy. I’ll be back soon!
I've been visiting Hop Lot since the day they opened, and they really put the amenities where it counts. A growing outside venue with many new food options makes this a place we keep visiting over and over. The service is always top-notch with that northern Michigan hospitality. 10/10 highly recommend!
UPDATE: Hop Lot is now our go-to restaurant during the summer. We love the atmosphere, and have always had consistent, great food!

We’re new to TC and still working our way around the food scene, but we were very happy to have picked Hop Lot for our date today!
Our food was delicious - my vegan wrap was perfectly seasoned and something I could only dream of recreating at home.
We liked our beer and the bartender was very friendly and personable.
The music and atmosphere were A+. So relaxing and fun. We wanted to stay all day!
We can’t wait to come back 😊
