Walking in they had a Studio Ghibli playlist going so I was pretty much sold simply on that comfort. lol Their menu is extensive, really clean restaurant and the food was really good. I got to try a duck dish that I’ve never had and they were very attentive when I requested things, great service. I’ll definitely be back to try the Mi Viet Tiem.
I had the Bun Bo Hue and my dining partner has the vegetarian pho.
Both were good. The pho has a nice selection of veggies and a tasty broth. It was quite large.
The bun bo hue was good though I would go for the famous duck soup dish everyone raves about.
Overall the price was fantastic! Dinner for two for under $20.
Hospitality always a plus here along with feeling of grandma catering to you. Having pho with brisket for lunch then off to work!
The broth is always tasty.
First time coming here and it was good. The pho was good for a great price. The small looked like large. Which was only 7.50. I recommend.
Huge portions, amazing flavor, solid price.
It's a nice quiet spot. It's not "blow me away" in any direction. It's the perfect hole in the wall. Nice view of the street, quick service. Great place to have a solo lunch or a low key date night.
And the food is amazing!
Ive been a fan of this family run joint for years and will attest to the quality of their various South East Asian dishes. Their food is flavorful, well prepared, and they have easily some of the best vegetarian Vietnamese options in the region.
My personal favorite dish is their Tom Yum which is loaded with seafood bits and bobs as well as veggies and plenty of chili oil. My significant other loves their vegetarian fresh roles and pho for a good old fashioned carb rush.
In spite of my claiming favorites, I have worked my way around their menu and have found portions are generous and flavorful. Plus, the staff is friendly, and the service has always been fast. Just keep in mind, they prepare reasonably traditional Southeast Asian dishes so if the menu says duck blood and trip expect duck blood and tripe.
If I could I would take away half a star away because the joint is a little run down as it is in an older building an is a bit dirty. As such, it not be the best fit for the less adventurous diner.
For those who care, it reminds me of being a little boy in Westminster California spending my time after school in family restaurants 25 years ago. If you're of Vietnamese descent and of a certain age, this will be a hell of a nostalgia trip, and about as authentic as you get.
Excellent soup, broth is flavorful, an acquired taste for sure. Lots of Viet people eat here so you know it's good. Don't get the bubble tea unless you like overly sweet powder-based bubble tea. Atmosphere is super chill and quiet. You can sit down immediately and pick up a menu.
I love this place. I've tried Pho all over the South Sound and hands down this has the best broth in the region. It is a cozy little place with a clean and down-home feeling to it. The owners and staff make sure you are well taken care of. I know I'll be back soon.
