Just Tally for a short visit. Saw the 4.9 rating so I figured how could I go wrong. I couldn't have been happier. Possibly the best Gyro I've ever had. Very tasty and the Pita itself had a nice crisp to it.

This is the best Greek food I've ever had in my life. You have to try the pita fries, they were life changing. Everything we ordered was amazingly good even down to the mint iced tea! The owner/chef was working alone when we came in so we had a bit of a wait to get our order taken but the wait was worth it. According to its ratings and reviews, they're considered the best food establishment in Tallahassee and for good reason. I've been coming here for years and will always continue to come. Best meal I've had in months. This place is the bomb and it has great value. Only had the Big Athens Gyro so far, but I'm going back every week from now on. Best Gyro I've ever had. This is one of my favorites places to eat at in Tallahassee. I've never had anything bad, and am always pleasantly surprised whenever I try something new. The owner is very attentive and so sweet! I end up craving this place when I'm back home. It is a must see if you are in town visiting!!
This was definitely spot on!!! Flavors were awesome. I will be in Tallahassee in about 10 weeks and will definitely come by again. I ate at lunch and had the combo little pricey for lunch, but really the flavors made it worth every penny.
Very impressed. I had not eaten here in about five years, and noticed that it was #1 rated on Urbanspoon, so my wife and I ate lunch here. The owners are friendly and helpful, and show that they care about their customers. The gyros are very flavorful, never cold or greasy like Pitaria can be. We also ordered a bag of baklava, which was also delicious and a hit at the office. I am excited to go try other items from their menu!
Yum!!. Honestly the best Gyro I have had. The meat is flavorful and plentiful. Their fries have just the right amount of seasoning and their baklava isn't overly sweet. I wish I lived closer to this side of town. I would definitely come here more often if I did.

Yum!. Went for the first time a few months ago. Very generous portions and the tzatziki was delish! Only problem I had was that they were a little heavy handed on the greek seasoning which made everything kinda salty. Other than that, I'd totally be willing to try the place a second time. Good thing I love greek seasoning. :)

This is the best gyro by far!! We use to live here and have yet to find another restaurant that is even close to the taste. When ever we are in town we always eat here. The owner and his wife are always nice. This is a must try!!!

Stunning Gyros. I have had gyros in all sorts of places, and most of them were nondescript to greasy. I also had to tell people to put the tziki (sp) sauce on the side, and often they didn't, using the sauce to cover up for the low quality of the meat. My fiancee` told me that the gyros here were the best she had ever had; I wanted to believe. We were both hungry after a long day of errands, and so we stopped in.
First off, we don't have to pay much for a good meal. The $10 combo gets you a filling meal of gyros, a side, a drink, and some baklavah. We both had the pita fries as a side, and these were fantastic. Think of a pita seasoned with salt and spices, then fried -- crispy, crunchy, savory deliciousness. The baklavah was good, a little bit heavier than usual, with more of the honey and brown sugar, and not so much of the flaky variety. And the gyro?
The fiancee` was right -- this was the best gyro I've ever had. The meat was tasty, seasoned in some way that made it irresistible, and mixed with lettuce and feta cheese. This is something I could have easily eaten two of, without slowing down. And yes, the tziki sauce was left on the side, perfect for dipping the pita fries.
The restaurant signage allowed you to find the place, although it did seem to be located in a rougher part of the pan-campus area. Inside, the place was well-kept, clean, orderly, and decorated with an interesting Egyptian/Grecian theme. The owner was a sweetheart.

This place is AWESOME. Not only is it inexpensive and ridiculously delicious, but it's a lot of food. I walked in and it was more authentic than I had thought. It's run by a Greek? Lady and she is very nice. I was happy to pay six dollars for a locally owned restaurant. "It ain't no college food".
Good food at great prices. The special of the day was excellent, mint tea was refreshing, and a nice selection of tasty traditional greek deserts.

Paralyzed by Pita. As course credit, myself along with the rest of HFT2890 were asked to complete an out of class assignment: write a restaurant report after sampling and analyzing a local "ethnic" eatery. "Expand your (food) experience in savoring a new food you have never tried before," they told me. After a rather early morning snapchat suggestion from a (great) friend, I was Little Athens Gyro bound.
I walked through the doors to see a single man taking and filling orders as I reached for a menu. After quick glance, gyro was the obvious choice. The gyro sandwich combo is offered in two options: 1) Olympus Gyro Combo (meat, chicken or both) including your choice of a greek salad, Little Athens fries, or rice, fountain drink and baklava for $9.95 or my selection 2) the Big Athens Gyro Combo (meat, chicken or both) for $10.45.
Go Big Athens or go home baby. Tender gyro meat served hot off the grill laid to rest by the owner himself on grilled Kronos pita bread with tomatoes, onion, a unique blend tzatziki sauce, and their own special herb spices topped with feta and shredded lettuce. The Little Athens fries accompany the sandwich to add an American flare. Fries needed a dash of salt to please my palate, otherwise I wouldn't change a thing. Nothing can be said to honor what was for a brief moment on my tray rich layers of phyllo filled with chopped pistachios, sweetened to perfection. God bless baklava.

While many understand this little gyro making machine to be traditional Greek food, prior research and conversation with head chef, owner, and new friend George shed light on the Egyptian influence that makes Little Athens renowned on this side of town. The very brief conversation we shared about Little Athens, the inspiration of its menu, and his passion for food reflect Ragheb's personalized connection to customers and busy business.

Little Athens Gyro is my favorite place to eat in all of Tallahassee and there are days that my mouth waters just thinking about it. You will not go wrong eating here!

Thumbs Up. Thumbs up to Little Athens! The Big Athens Gyro Combo with a Greek salad, baklava, and mint tea was very good. The gryo was full of meat, the salad fresh, and the baklava was flaky. The mint tea was also impressive, and I made sure to top off my cup before leaving.
On another note, after I ordered I realized my debit card was at my house. The owner let me use a credit card they normally do not accept to pay for my meal. Very friendly and he obviously wants to keep customers happy and coming back.

WISH I FOUND THIS PLACE SOONER!. I am very hard to please. So when a my friend of mine invited me to lunch and recommend Pitaria, I said to myself there has to be some place that offers better Greek food. We decided to try Little Athens for the first time. I ordered the Big Athens Gyro with Chicken and it was SOOOOOOOOO flavorful :) Literally, pure perfection. (Ok, literally my mouth is watering thinking about it). The chicken was so well seasoned!!! Being Caribbean, I'm always searching for places in Tallahassee that actual offer well seasoned chicken but the search is OVER. Little Athens is it. Plus, The owner was so nice to us and just his genuine customer service will keep me coming back. Like I said, I wish I found this place sooner! :)
Top Rated For a Reason. The food is phenomenal, and the owners will remember you by your second visit. They are so nice and consistently make excellent food. I sampled so much at the Greek festival last year and was disappointed because it just wasn't as good as Little Athens.
I've had the falafel, the hummus, the paratha, the Pita fries, both types of baklava (I love the pistachio best), and the gyro. You get 2 options--meat or chicken, ha ha. I've only had the lamb, but it is unbelievably good. I get the combo with the pita fries and small baklava. It's so good that I have to make a point to eat politely and not just inhale the thing.

I LOVE this place! Everything is well-seasoned and the prices are great. The owner is an absolute sweetheart and I've never had bad service here. I will say that I've am a huge fan of Sahara Cafe, but Little Athens has them beat on flavor and price.

Don't miss the pastisio!. Our friends and I usually eat gyros at Little Athens, but tonight we were all in the mood for something different. We ordered the pastisio with greek salad that was the special. WOW! We agreed it was the best meal. The flavors were great and the portions were so large, we took half of our meals home. We couldn't resist a taste of dessert and sampled several of George's recommendations. We love George and his dear wife, Jeanette, who both cook, serve and host in their special way. We continue to enjoy our dining experience even after many years of great lunches and dinners.

Chicken Shawarma. I came in earlier in the week and got the chicken shawarma, it was so good I had to come in 2 days later. My daughter loves the falafel.
That was excellent dinner! The Lhasa noodles were something I'd not had before and an excellent choice. The buttery, honey, nutty sweetness of the pistachio baklava satisfied every bit of my sweet tooth. And the owner and wait staff were kind, warm people. Can't wait to go back!

Schwarma Special. Just wanted to put it out there that if you haven't had Little Athens on the Tennessee street strip yet, you should. They season everything perfectly like exotic comfort food. I've tried several things there that I had never heard of and they were AWESOME!
They're food is the real deal, not just pita sandwiches. For a quick bit their spinach cheese pies are delicious. True service and with the smile, generous portions, good prices, a hidden gem of Tallahassee.
The Mixed Schwarma is my favorite go to meal. It has lamb, beef and chicken or you can order just one of those three if you prefer, and it can be ordered as a sandwich or as a rice dish. The sandwich is more fresh flavored with tomatoes and lettuce but the rice dish is savory and served casserole style and seems more satisfying if you're really hungry. EIther way I Can't Stop Eating It!

Still Happy After 20 Years. I have enjoyed George and Jeannette's expertise for nearly 20 years - ever since they owned Captain Pete's on Capital Circle NE. Their new location on Tennessee and Dewey near the FSU campus is more convenient for me, and their falafel sandwich (chick peas fried with fresh herbs, crumbled and mixed with tahini sauce, tomato, lettuce and onion) remain my favorite and reasonably priced "sandwich" in town. Try it with feta cheese and Greek olives added and you'll return for 20 years, too.
Shawarma is f@cking amazing. Order the shawarma, I order this all day every day. Mixed meat. They've added some spices that make this thing incredible. This Mom and pop restaurant kills any competition.
The best gyro you can buy, I've eaten them all over the country and there are none better. Another favorite of mine is the rice. If it was by my office I'd eat there 3x a week!

I find that the restaurant has a charm that only a family owned, local place can have. The restaurant is the best Greek restaurant in Tallahassee. I am Mediterranean so take it from me, little Athens has the BEST shawarma I have ever had in America. the mixed chicken/lamb meat is amazing and tastes exactly like the best shawarmas in Egypt. GREAT!. I totally recommend Little Athens for good food and friendly service. Walk up and order at the counter, your food will be delivered to your table pronto. It's casual and simple but the food is great! Went there today and had the Big Athens Gyro--fantastic flavors with plenty of meat and sauce. Be sure and grab some napkins, it's juicy. George and his wife are the real deal.
The Best. This is one of the best places in Tallahassee. It's authentic greek food made by husband/wife. They know their frequent customers and are so nice. I usually get the combo which is about $10, but you get a side, drink (mint tea is the best), Gyro, and baklava.
This and Riccardo's are the only places I will truly miss when I leave Tally. Great food and super affordable.

Good, but not for the price. I tried Little Athens a few days ago. I got the standard gyro and pita fries. For my wife and I to get two meals it was over twenty dollars, which is standard for your typical restaurant.
As I sat there I was slightly dismayed to see an excessive use of food straight from the refrigerator to the microwave, but I let it be. I was pleased at the taste of the food once I got it, but the portion was sub par. It was slightly better than other greek restaurants I have been to here, but I don't want to pay $4 more for a meal with about two-thirds what I could get somewhere else. Also, they charge for sauce.
In the running for best Gyro in town! Little Athens has a great mom and pop sort of feel that I knew was going to be great food when I stepped foot inside. The fries were fine, but the Gyro was really good. There’s more seating than I expected, and the parking is better than I would have thought too. If you like a good gyro you should try them out!
Found this place in 2016. Best Gyro around! Small quaint little mom and pop place. Has survived because of all the regulars it creates. If you want the best Gyro in town this is it. Food is fantastic and traditional deserts are unbelievable. If you don't want to wait for the annual Greek festival for your next Greek craving give it a try.

I’ve been coming to this place for years. Moved out of town for a few years, came back and this place is still #1 in Tallahassee. The service is great, it’s a small family owned business that truly cares about the quality of the food and their customers. Ordered the gyro meal with the rice/gravy, also came with a drink (I mixed the cinnamon tea with the lemonade- which was terrific). This is definitely my go to for authentic, flavorful, fresh gyros. Food comes out piping hot which is always a plus for me, and it’s simply delicious.
Really enjoyed lunch here! The side Greek Salad was plenty for lunch and it was well presented with seasoning, feta and veg. The hummus and grilled pita rounded out our meal. Loved the tea! Will come again!
Little Athens has the best gyro in Tallahassee!! It’s right across from campus so it’s convenient for students and the price is not bad for all the food. The meat is delicious and it is piled high with all the extras you could need. The fries are seasoned very well. I have also had the pita fries and they are good, I think I prefer the regular. The Honey Cinnamon tea they make is amazing! It is sweet and is so refreshing!

Absolutely remarkable flavors, the dolamades are tender and juicy, the gyros have a good amount of crunch in all the right places, the fries are crisp despite looking soft, and the honey cinnamon tea is simply to die for. Best food I've had in a while. Very homey vibe.

I'm sitting here right now in the restaurant and haven't even fully finished my food while writing this 5 star review. I almost never write restaurant reviews either, but I had to give this place 5 stars. I've been missing Greek food for over a year and also have been having trouble eating. As soon as I sank my teeth into the gyro, any trouble I usually have went away. All I could focus on was how delicious the food was and how authentic and fresh it tasted. I had tried buying a tzatziki sauce at Publix but that store-bought sauce DOES NOT COMPARE to this homemade recipe, and I am not exaggerating. The food was piping hot when I was given it, and the baklava looked obviously made at the restaurant and not at a factory or what not. All of the food tasted freshly prepared and, as I said earlier, absolutely delicious. I didn't realize how much I was missing real Greek food. A piece of baklava, a lamb gyro with no side, and a spinach cheese pie appetizer (I didn't buy a drink) was about $20, which is not too bad (especially considering the amazing quality of this food). I highly suggest trying the lamb gyro and baklava especially, and I will for sure be eating here again! Pay attention to the restaurant hours because this restaurant does close at 4 pm, I asked to make sure since I was confused by the sign outside. I walked in at 3 pm on a Wednesday during finals week and it wasn't too busy! Will for sure be taking my dad here the next time he visits me; he loves finding the best places to eat wherever he travels, and he will not be disappointed here! I'm considering even buying some leftovers to eat later for dinner. I wish this place was open later since I have late classes and I would eat here all the time if it was!
