Couple things…food is awesome. Probably the best Italian food in all of Tampa. Atmosphere is pretty cool and cozy. As for service…wellll personally I feel they go about seating people wrong. Put your hostess outside and sit people when you have available tables. Don’t have people waiting literally in your dinning area. There is also zero communication when you arrive with a reservation. They will just take your name, say thanks, and walk off and ignore you for an undisclosed amount of time while you stare at multiple empty tables. I’ve come to the conclusion that it must be a culture thing? The whole “everyone annoys me” attitude must just be part of the experience. With all that being said I want everyone to know I still frequent this place for every occasion or date night. The food is simply unbeatable. 1 simple relocation of your hostess station to the outside (there’s literally a spot for it already) and some friendlier service and this place is 5star dinning.
Great vibe & service, most of our food was great but the veal didn’t do much for me.
They have the best bread!! Overall experience was wonderful. Weather permitting, I recommend you eat outside in the alley type seating. So cozy and a cute little Italian vibe. Waiter recommended a cheese wheel appetizer because what we wanted was out. It was an interesting experience. Wouldn't get it again, but it was cool to try something new. I ordered chicken alfredo - very creamy and tasty! Needed salt though. My wife ordered shrimp and scallop scampi - she said it was very good and seafood was cooked well. The star of the meal was the bread! Loved it. Waiter was very nice. Would come here again!
Our first time here and it was rather early for dinner but we hadn't even had lunch that day. One of those days where you're rushing everywhere. Well, we walk in and there's only a few tables that were taken. The host tells us they can't seat us until 8:45 and it's literally 5ish? No problem, we could see the screen and it was booked solid. We start to leave and another server tells us to wait a minute and he would seat us. So glad we stayed. The food was wonderful and our server was a very sweet young man. It's a locals spot so I'm sure it's always busy. We will definitely be back.
Everything was AMAZING. Best (free, for the table) bruschetta, lightest house salad, best butternut squash ravioli, and best garlic bread I’ve ever had. Trust me on this 😂 Service was great - atmosphere was perfect. Mini cannolis were the perfect dessert - not too much and customizable. I highly, highly recommend. Also - our waitress, Misty, was amazing! Definitely recommend her.
My go-to for great Italian food. Went last night and the server Kendra was phenomenal. I would recommend this place to my friends but it's one of my hidden Gems that I keep to myself 😊😊😊
Personally ordered the Palermo Chicken Cutlet with a side of Alfredo, company ordered the Alfredo and Genovese Pesto.
Very unique menu options as well as the classics. Was disapponted that they do not have fresh made pasta in house. Had vegetarians at the table and pasta dishes with meat didn't have veggie freindly protein options and would get charged for protein.
The house salad was not that impressive. All the dishes were delicious and had a great texture. The Palermo Chicken breast was perfectly fried, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. But the dish had an excessive amount of oil, left with a large amount on my plate when I finished up. Genovese Pesto is a great vegetarian dish. amazing unique flavor. The chicken we had to get on the side for the alfredo was tough and dry and no freshly grated Parmigiano 😢.
Good experience overall, a little pricey for the missing details and slight mishaps. Had a good time, no problem with reservation, staff was nice and attentive, and cozy environment.
Additional note: Face is still uncomfortable oily 2 days after from the food. The food is good but beware.
Took my bf here for his birthday dinner and we loved this place! Our waitress, Angela, was great and the food was amazing. We enjoyed the burrata, butternut squash ravioli, shrimp & scallop alfredo and grilled pineapple for dessert. 😍 Will definitely return!
there is no other way to have italian food if it’s not Oggi! holy cannoli their food is spectacular. 2nd time here and it just keeps getting better. i always come here alone and the service is amazing. the Pistacho Chicken Cutlet and Genovese Pesto (not pictured) are my go to. the tiramisu is my favorite in town!
An amazing experience! I went for brunch and it didn’t disappoint. I had the Italian Benedict and a half portion of the cannoli French toast. Both were absolutely delicious and I am a picky person when it comes to breakfast! The staff was friendly and the feel to the restaurant was charming. The food was fresh and full of flavor.
I would highly recommend for brunch and plan to go for dinner in the near future.
The Fortunate Tragedy Tampa, FL

This is a modern Italian restaurant right on the main strip of Davis Island.
The ambiance is Island casual with Tampa Bay charm. There's no need to be overdressed here.
I highly reccomend the eggplant Meatball (breaded eggplant with no meat). It is so creative and just delicious.
The desserts are homemade, the seafood scampi (pictured) is fresh and invigorating with succulent scallops, shrimp or octopus if you so choose.
For drinks, order the Italian sangria. It is flavored with what tastes like fresh apples & cinnamon.
The servers are attentive and pleasant, making the entire experience worthwhile.
I was in the Tampa area with family and someone suggested OGGI for lunch. We decided to give it a whirl and it was the best decision of the day. They serve you fresh appetizers right after you sit down that are very flavorful and bright. I recommend you order a meal that comes with a salad. The salad had a sweet yet tangy flavor that mixed very well. We all ordered different pasta dishes so we could each try something new and each one had a unique flavor all to itself. It is a little pricey for a small place but it's worth it for all of the freshness in the dishes. After every meal you can also receive a free expresso. I am looking forward to coming back sometime soon. Also dog and kid friendly! Thanks
We all love this place in my family- my mom has lived in Davis Islands for 9 years and the addition of Oggi a few years back was a fabulous one. I’ve eaten here many times and the food is always fresh and great. I docked one star on the food just because sometimes the portions are so huge as to be overwhelming (but some like that, so I know this is a personal nitpick) and on occasion, I personally found the sauce to be too heavy, almost overtaking the pasta. A while back, we were a tad underwhelmed with the grilled pineapple but I’m convinced that was a one-off. Otherwise, the food is truly wonderful. The gnocchi is the perfect texture and the pasta always perfect al dente. The included bruschetta is always a nice, bright and fresh starter. The house wine is great. My friends adore the pesto sauce here. My sister raves about the butternut squash ravioli. And the desserts are incredible.
The atmosphere can be a bit overwhelming when it’s totally full inside- it can be quite loud in a small space, but that’s rather typical in a space like theirs. I really recommend the outdoor seating anyway- the ambience outside is wonderful. The lights and little tables all lend a European atmosphere that is very nice and relaxing.
I’ve never had anything short of fantastic service here.
Overall, I love this restaurant and highly recommend it! My family and friends would as well!
Delicious food and friendly service. Don't forget dessert!
