We had the best time at Anchor in Tampa. Great beer on tap and the food was next level! Bri was our bartender and she was the absolute best.
I brought my out of town friends in last night and wasn’t expecting much from a dive bar, but we had an absolutely amazing experience! From the wings to the drinks to the service we were pleasantly surprised. Brianna was attentive no matter how busy she got and made our experience that much better. We will be back again today for Sunday football. Go bills!!!
Picture a man cave with good food and a lot of TVs. I had the fish and chips in. It came in a huge portion.
The food was great and the prices were very reasonable. I got the anchor chicken sandwich and fries. I have nothing but great things to say about their food. However, the service was not up to par. When we had got there a server came and grabbed our drinks but then sat and talk to another co-worker for at least 30 and never came to take our orders. Our original server had gone home for the night and the new one had come up to take our orders. She dropped of the food, never came back to ask us if we were enjoying our meal so we never got the chance to ask her for things we still needed. The servers were nice, just not very attentive. Not busy at all for a Saturday night.
Had the anchor fries. They were a little spicy for my taste, but no hotter than hot Buffalo so pretty reasonable.
Pros: They had food late, typical bar food. There seemed to be a group of regulars who really were chopping it up and seemed friendly enough.
I've been in a few times and the food is really good. I highly recommend the wings. The only issue I have is slow service as I've only been there on later on Friday nights and there is only one bar tender and the cook. If you're not sitting directly at the bar you have to go up to the bar to order food, pick up your food, and get refills because the bartender is generally too busy to come out to the tables. The atmosphere is nice and the service is friendly.
Food blew me away, and the staff kept good pace despite all the patrons filling the bar. Overall, I had a pleasant night commandeering the jukebox with my friend and singing obnoxiously even with all that the staff still made it feel homey. 100/10 recommend
Ok. Where to start. First time here. And most Definitely will not be my last. Bartender was super cool and on it all night and the place was pretty full. Lots of TVs and decent bar spaces for a small spot. Let's talk food though. My gosh. What a stellar menu. Props to the cooks in the back. Had a few different things. Had Wings (Hot Garlic Parm), Flatbread pepperoni pizza, jalapeño poppers (cheddar), and Philly Cheese Eggrolls. Everything was stellar. Top notch bar food with good ingredients. But let me tell you something about the poppers. They were so good. Perfectly made. From ratio to ingredients to the ingredients just staying together. Honestly some of the best poppers I've ever had from an establishment. Top 3 in my book. If not the crown champion. Hell of a spot and a great spot at that.
I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Great food, great staff, and an amazing atmosphere. Drinks were being bought all around and everyone was signing along to the music together. I had a really great time here.
Excellent lunch - low key vibe, friendly server, definitely a local place with a decent burger and excellent onion rings.
Nice little dive bar place. Cold beers and good food
Great little tavern, excellent food and drinks, Brianna made the night even better. very happy we found this place.
The buffalo shrimp and wings were great. Mellow atmosphere. Will go again when I visit Tampa next month.
Visiting and wanted to watch the game
Great Beer and Wings! Long list of Tap Beer. Best Bartender he took care of the entire bar including table service and food.
Great staff fantastic, large portions of finely cooked meals and a quiet atmosphere right in the middle of downtown Tampa. Best B.L.T. I have EVER eaten in my entire life.
Anne Marie was true delight as our server.
I highly recommend you go here for lunch next time you're in downtown Tampa.
Very cool, small, cheap low key sort of place with delicious food. Looks like they run all sorts of specials everyday so that's cool as well. The bartender was friendly and the inside was clean. Local brews were $4 so I had a few. The homemade chips with chili and cheese I ordered were fantastic. Perfectly seasoned and oozing with goodness. I can tell the food was made with love and fresh ingredients.
Not much more to say about this gem, except stop by when you're in the area for a drink and a bite to eat. You will be glad you did!
Decent tavern with great bar food. Quiet, laid back atmosphere. Id definitely come back.
