I ordered to go when they just opened up. I can’t speak for the atmosphere. The food was well done and they made it easy for a picky eater like me to order exactly what I wanted. The host was nice and welcoming.
Nice and quiet on a Saturday around 1PM for lunch. I enjoy the atmosphere here, as there is a relaxing waterfall display at the front of the restaurant. The staff was delightfully helpful and friendly. Chicken friend rice was well made. I would definitely have it again. Sushi was all good as well. I was pleased with the portions of ginger and wasabi. All in all, two thumbs up.
My husband and I have been coming here for years. Since circa 2016. Hands down the best sushi in Tampa. Everything they have is tasty and flavorful. Would highly recommend if you're in the area! You won't be disappointed. They have a pretty big selection of sushi and sashimi. And some great appetizers as well. Check them out!☺️
Another great hit from your favorite sushi connoisseur! 😂 Went with my family to Shogun so we were all first timers here; I went out on a limb based on the variety of reviews and decided to give this place a shot. NO regrets!!! 😍
I was sooo surprised by how great the sashimi was here, chef's were on point!
I started off with the Treasure Island appetizer, which is various diced raw sashimi pieces in a light sauce, topped with masago and borderlined with avocado. First bite of the fish had me shook. Super soft and buttery, pairs well with the avocado. Very tasty!
When I tried the Love Boat for 2, the moment of truth came when I tried a piece of the salmon sashimi and the tuna. WOW.
I haven't had any fresher fish served to me before this, and that's saying a lot considering how much sushi I've had.
The sashimi was so soft it melted in my mouth, with a buttery finish. No fishy taste whatsoever. My family was also very impressed, I think I blinked twice and it was all gone. This is the type of real sashimi I've been looking for, where a chef takes pride in what they serve, and where you go home dreaming of having more the following day.
Great portions for reasonable menu prices, and the options offered are not too bad at all, good variety. The onlyyy reason it just missed 5 stars was mainly from the fried soft shell crab that did not taste well, and our server, which she might've been fairly new. So needing some things took a while to ask, and some knowledge on the menu items were confusing. Besides that, I'm definitely coming back to try more menu items! Crossing fingers and toes that this place remains consistent!
This place aways carries the highest quality fish and ingredients. Everything is always so fresh and delicious! The owner and his staff are very friendly it's always a pleasure to go and eat here. Even picking up food to go is nice. I would definitely recommend bringing your date or your family here. Nice little location and the quality of the food and the people are the best.
Highly recommend!!!!
I was looking for a sushi place and this place was pretty nice. I asked my server about a low carb option and she helped me out. I love the service, food, and environment
I came here about three years ago and had a great delicious sushi. Today I stopped with my mom to share the experience with her. The service was great and fast but the sushi was just ok. The tuna tartare was very fresh and yummy and the beat part of the meal. Would recommend.
This place is very good food and serve. tasty and well presented the udon noodles well prepared. Soon what dark inside.
We are regulars here, and return because of the consistency, which is lacking in most restaurants these days.
Consistently great quality of food (we always order at least a few rolls, plus miso soup and seaweed salad often), prompt and friendly service, and reasonable prices.
My only recommendation is it is very dark in there. After a few minutes, you adjust to it, but this is minor.
Thanks for being our go-to place for sushi!!!
I've been waiting for a Sushi place to knock my proverbial socks off. Mission accomplished. My app called Treasure Island, was a variety of diced sushi mixed in a sauce and surrounded by a wall of avocado. An auspicious start to an amazing lunch. I was astounded by the incredible sauce, then when I dipped my avocado in plain soy sauce I was startled by the flavor, even their soy sauce was great. My Hamachi app, fried yellowtail collar, was crisp, juicy and served with a sauce. Again, the sauce was amazing! Who the heck is in charge of sauces, give them a raise.
Time for the real test, Sashimi. I got the deluxe because it's only a 2-3 dollar difference and you get the yellowtail. It had white tuna, snapper, red tuna, salmon and yellowtail. All of it was marvelous. When I tried the yellowtail sashimi I was dazed, I felt like I had a sushi high. As you may have guessed, I had a stupendous meal. The Miso Soup was just right. The ginger dressing a little on the sweet side if you like that.
I was so happy, I ordered a Sapporo.
We order from here frequently. Always fresh, consistent, and accurate. Fairly priced. Very nice staff. (Delivery options typically charge more per food item)
Update: ordered again, delicious. Tempura is not gluten free. There are sashimi and other options for gluten free. Just have your own soy sauce.:-)
Updates: we tried the Christmas roll and seaweed salad this time. Very good. Fast and fresh to-go! Friendly staff.
The service here was good. The food was pretty. But the flavors were very subtle and needed more contrast. We had chopsticks on the table in their wrapper that were not used. At the end of the meal, the server asked if they were clean. Given that covid is a thing, anything on the table should be considered unclean. It was obvious that the server intended to put those chopsticks on her next table. The soy sauce tray was also dirty and so was the metal strip along the side of the table. With all of the other great options around the city, we won't be back here.
Sushi was good. Nothing to write home about, but solid sushi nonetheless. Service was a bit slow but they were very polite. Not a go to in my opinion, but good if you dont have a better option.
A hidden gem in Tampa for some of the most delicious and affordable pieces of Sushi.
If you venture up to Shogun Sushi you wont be disappointed. They run daily specials, including a Buy 1 Get 1 50% off, on their Signature rolls. They craft some delicious rolls, and they don't skimp on presentation. The staff here take the time to make the experience enjoyable, and I can understand why people continue to pack into this place. I've attached some photos to show you just how great these rolls look, and I can say with confidence I plan to return soon. Do yourself a favor and give this one a try. I highly recommend this location. Cheers!

Went here because of Google Map's recommendations and it's pretty good. Ambience is clean but pretty typical looking. Service was fine and didn't take long. Great presentation and tasting rolls. Probably the best special rolls deal for Friday, Saturday, and Sundays with buy one get one half off.
