My husband and I was there last night. We really enjoyed ourselves. The $10 for all you can eat + 1 rum punch each was just simply amazing. The live band was really good. We will definitely revisit this place again.
I went to a great event Friday night, awesome people , great music, tasty food and drinks as well!! I'm going back even though I live in St Pete, it's worth it.

Excellent food. Cool atmosphere. Great portion size for someone like me that likes to eat a lot. And the mango sweet tea can be highly addictive.
The food was delicious, the music was good and the Strawberry Rum Punch was the best �

People were soo inviting and kind! The music was awesome! The food was yumm!! And the atmosphere was relaxing outside and made u wanna dance inside. I think ..I met the owner, but he was so humble. ..unlike most. Def gonna revisit.

I love people who go the extra mile for customer service! Morgan delivered 3 meals to myself and two other vendors today. We are unable to leave their products unattended and she was on at a local hotel in the area.

Cool little food truck in downtown Tampa. I gotz the 1/2 jerk chicken w/rice and beans with Jamaica cabbage(it was a good amount of food). It was really good. The chicken was cooked great but didn't have any heat and not enough jerk flavor. The rice and beans were delicious and so was the cabbage, which I'd never had. It came w/a side of red sauce which was like a sweet+sour sauce. I recommend trying!

I visited Tampa in January '23 and kept passing by this place at the wrong hours. For three days, I tried to visit for lunch so I could try the ox tail, and for three dayhs I failed to make it at the right time.
When I returned to Tampa in November '23 and stayed at the same nearby hotel, I made a point of trying to visit this place again. I finally made it, and I was so not disappointed. The wait was worth it.
I had never tried ox tail before, so I had to give it a try here. It was much like stewed beef, but with a ton of bone. It was definitely tasty, but kind of hard to eat. I'm glad for the experience, but probably wouldn't get this dish again.
However, I also tried some of my wife's jerk pork. For that, I was totally blown away. I loved every aspect of it, from the grilled flavor to the seasoning. It was cooked perfectly and tasted divine.
I also tried some of my son's yellow curry. My family are very particular when it comes ot our curry, and we all enjoyed what this place had to offer.
Although the prices were a bit high (we paid about $20/person for a meal and drink), I definitely think it's worth it. Next time I'm in Tampa, I'm coming back here for the jerk pork, for sure.
Authentic Jamaican food like you won’t find anywhere else. The food is served cafeteria style, where you pick your meat and sides. I had the oxtail, vegetable rice and plantains. The oxtail was fall off the bone tender and full of flavor. Overall the food was absolutely delicious, one of a kind with hefty portions. The service was not very good, the food is served in a styrofoam box with plastic forks, it is dark and gloomy inside. Don’t come to this place expecting to be waited on. Come expecting to eat authentic Jamaican food, cooked up by an old Jamaican woman who still does it the way her great grandmother taught her.
Jerk Hut has been a Tampa favorite for as long as I can remember. I moved down here as a child and we have always gone to the establishment over on Fowler. This was a nice find after a long hair appointment and being extremely hungry. Food was freshly prepared as usual and quality taste. The sauce is always a must 👌🏾 if you're downtown in the area stop by and grab a quick bite. You won't be disappointed 😌
Okay, I hate to do this but I’m sure their may be others so I took off a star for false advertisement.
NON LOCALS: THIS IS A FOOD TRUCK, I was unaware that this was a food truck. (Clearly didn’t know Tampa is known for a lot of these) and picked this place vs another with higher stars strictly because it was raining and needed to use the bathroom BADLY (prego probs) anyway I was literally dying to pee and drove further just bc I thought it was inside… it’s not lol
Ok now to the actual review…. 10/10 Smokey jerk chicken with the rice is the bomb.. sad they had no plantains bc that’s where my craving was… would eat here again though!
We love this place. Been going to the Gandy location for years before they moved here and relocated. The chicken meal with extra red sauce is amazing!
Woahhhh! I do not eat a lot of meat and my husband and I decided to splurg on Vacation and WOW WOW WOW. 🤤🤤🤤 The sauce was so good, the chicken was beyond description and the cabbage and rice was omgosh WOW. Do it.
The only reason for the 4/5 stars is because I’m not an expert on Jamaican food but it was certainly delicious! Excellent location, very close to the courthouse therefore it was a quick walk and a 2 min wait for the food. Great price too, $10 for a 1/4 chicken meal. Not bad, will definitely make it back.

Food was great but if you are not familiar please note that this is a food truck, not a restaurant. My daughter and I were in town for her bar exam, and wanted a place to sit and have dinner after her long day of testing, followed the directions and ended up at The food truck. Also expected to see a jerk grill on site, instead our meal was heated up in a microwave.

When I go to an island restaurant and if I don't hear momma in the back. I'm leaving. I walked in and didn't know what to think. Then out from the kitchen we see and hear auntie. Then we knew it was going to be good food.
We enjoyed the place and the first time that we have been in an all you can eat Jamaican restaurant.... We thought it was amazing, it almost gives you that feeling like your in Jamaica... Thanks very much guys
