Our second visit to the Tampa Improv. If it's a "packed house," expect to be seated at a table with others. Staff is pleasant and friendly. On this visit, we saw Don "DC" Curry. He put on a phenomenal performance. Expect plenty of "belly laughter." Pvt. off site parking, by "app." City parking by credit card processor. Expect to pay $25.

I loved the show a couple of weeks ago with Cocoa Brown & Hope Nichols! Both comedians were very funny! The security officer, Sean was very helpful & accommodating! The gentleman in the box office was very helpful in arranging for me to be seated near the front because I use a walker! My hamburger was OK, but people at other tables ordered wings & chicken tenders that they said were outstanding! Hoping to return very soon! The picture is where I was seated at the Tampa Improv!

Ready to laugh til the tears run down your face?!? Come to the Improv! I’ve been to a few comedy venues in the Tampa Bay Area and this one by far has the best lineups. We had a GREAT time! We got there early enough before the 8:00 show so we were able to park close. The drinks and food (we had wings) were great! The seating was a little tight but not unbearable. The tables seat 4 people so we shared a table with another couple which turned out to be very nice… strangers turned friends! The facilities were clean. The location is great since you’re right on the Ybor strip. We were able to continue our night at another venue where we danced and continued to laugh at the comedians stand up performance! The only thing I wasn’t crazy about is that you wait outside no matter what time you arrive. They open the doors and everyone waits again in the bar area. Your table is dependent on who’s first in line so imagine everyone getting in line to board a plane. People can be a bit pushy as they rush to be close to the front.

If you've ever been to a Funny Bone, the setup is similar. Dining tables with chairs. If you go alone or in a pair, you will be sat with strangers. If you buy 4 tickets, you'll have your own table. Seating is a little tight. 1st come first seating. But the show is totally worth it.

Went to see Becky Johnson. The venue is perfect for a comedy show, acoustics good, easy to see. They also had food options which was nice. Drinks take a very long time to reach you and are small so be smart and order multiples. We were drinking martinis and they were in miniature glasses lol. They ran out of the right glasses and serve them in rocks glasses after that which kills a little of the ambiance. Food and drinks were pretty expensive. Also they will add gratuity to your bill but do not tell you until you are adding it on the keypad which is really too late. Our total bill was almost $400. Kind of steep for four people for a comedy show so be prepared

This is one of my favorite spots to attend comedy shows. There isn’t a bad seat in the house. The wings are great, the drinks are on point, and the service is impeccable. An intimate setting, and the sound system is pristine! Every time one of my favorite acts perform here, I’ll be sure to book a seat because I know I’m going to have a wonderful time!

Place is what you expect of a traditional comedy club and we loved it. Close to the comedians with a great fun atmosphere. In the heart of YBor city you can’t beat the location. Drinks and food were super expensive so recommend to grab dinner prior to the show. A bit cramp, very small tables but hey that’s what you expect at a club. Support the local acts and definitely visit and enjoy a show. We are already planning our next show.

Had an awesome time here with some friends! Drinks were well made, food was good, everything was decently priced, bathrooms were super clean, atmosphere was great, and they had a great lineup while we were there. Would definitely visit again.

Had a great time seeing one of our favorite Drag Race stars. Excellent service, but get there early / on time, as it gets busy and service gets slower. Lovely venue though! Definitely worth it.

First time here really enjoyed it. Of course, the comedians are top-notch. Choice of food was decent for such a small place. I got the mozzarella sticks. And they were huge could easily share with 2 people. Will definitely be going back again.

Went there to see Jeff Arcuri who was absolutely amazing….. but the tall and skinny door guy at this place really put a bad taste in my mouth. Long story short, waited in a long line to get in (which was fine), but when we got to the door we showed him the tickets on our phone with the QR code and he redirected us back outside to the ticket counter with no explanation as to why even when we tried asking. Got to the back of another line at the ticket counter and the ticket lady announced that all we had to do was check our email and the tickets would pull up. Went back through the same door we had just exited with our tickets only to be questioned by him “is this door unlocked?”. We said yes, you just sent us through…. He then said I’m going to need you to exit through the same door and get back to the end of the original line without hearing us out. Us and three other couples were fuming at this point and had it not been for Mogely helping correct the situation and actually listening to our complaints, I would have given this place a 1 star. By the end of the night we had a great time, but please get someone else to handle the door or you will end up losing customers because of that guy.

Nice little bar in the staging area before going into the actual club where you can get a couple of drinks and wait. People kind of crowd there so that they can get a good seat up front when the doors open, so that's mildly irritating. Especially when they play the "I'm going to the bathroom" trick, but then stand there up front. Plenty of seats up front, so I wasn't upset, but seems pretty ridiculous since there ARE so many seats up front! They JAM...YOU...IN! Sardines sitting in teeny tiny little chairs. Very uncomfortable. I wouldn't have minded as much if we had seen a decent comedian, but we did not. Headliners were fine, but the main act sucked, but that's not the fault of the venue. He just sucked. I thought the servers did a magnificent job! I will say, however, that the kid with his blond hair completely covering his face needs to put that into a hair tie of some sort, because that's definitely a health code violation. If he's serving food, his hair can't be like that. Plus...it's tacky. I love comedy and I love the area, but due to the discomfort, I'm not sure if I'd go again if there wasn't a really decent comedian coming. Plenty of room for others if I don't, though! Also...plenty of other venues.
