To our surprise, there is an Ava in SoHo. We loved the pizza at the Joinery location, and we're excited to try this location. The decor is very nice and spacious. I started with a ravioli (average) and the bread service, which was the best restaurant bread I've had—the texture of a soft donut with a perfectly crispy exterior. Paired with the whipped ricotta and honey, it's AMAZING. I had to have the Bestia again, but it's not as good as the joinery location(less cheese and sausage). The margarita pizza was very good with pepperoni. Service was okay, but I would definitely return for the bread service option.
Great place and food. They have a private room that can seat 8-12 people. We had a great waitress and service for our 2+ hour dinner celebration. The lamb rub was excellent.
Went to Ava for the first time Saturday morning for brunch with my mom. The service, food, and atmosphere was top notch. We had originally gone to another restaurant in Hyde park but left due to poor service. We arrived at Ava a few minute before opening and their doors were locked. We were going elsewhere but then a sweet young lady named Or ran out to greet us. She said they were just opening in a few minutes and we could come in and look at the menu. Not many places do this she was amazing. We then had Jacob as our server, he gave us great recommendations and we had an amazing brunch. We will be back again for brunch and to try dinner here. Amazing service with delicious food, too!
We wanted to try a brunch spot while visiting Tampa and came across this place. One of the best brunches we have had! Great brunch atmosphere/vibes as we went on a Sunday morning. Place quickly filled up after we got there. Started with the biscuit and gravy and the bottomless mimosas for $20 a person to start which was a great value and tasted great. Wife got a 2 egg breakfast and I got the monte cristo which was excellent. We will definitely be back for brunch again when in the area.
Our first time coming to Ava after a coworker recommended this place to my girlfriend. We decided to have a nice dinner before going to see our families for Christmas. The parking was fairly easy in a nearby garage, it was a Thursday night but still active. We were seated quickly and were tended to often. Our waitress was great, helpful and knowledgeable. The ambiance was great along with the food and the drinks. We had the bolognese and the chicken parm with a number of different drinks that we tried and loved. We had a great night and we both agreed that we would come back to try some other dishes on the menu.
We hosted a birthday party of about 30 people (cocktail style) on the patio and Ava made it so easy for us. The staff were so attentive, helpful and nice. Donald made the reservation and ordering process so simple. The space is awesome with TVs and a door that can remain open for easy access to the bar and restrooms.
I often give 2nd chances if I believe improvement is possible. My first visit was terrible but this time was much different. The people were very nice, the food was better and the service was good. I got a Marghareta Pizza and liked the thin crust, zesty flavor and a good mozarella. Bumped my rating up a star.
Tampa Bay Restaurant Week. Ava
I had the prix fixe meal for $35. It was a bad experience, this place has to be better than what I encountered. The service was bad and some of the food was terrible. My bread was burnt, old and cold, I tried to eat it but couldn't. I was talked into the Cavatelli and it just made my mouth unhappy, the fennel sausage was awful. The Meatballs were good, very tender and tasty. The Tiramisu was just average.
Again, I must re-iterate how bad the service was. I felt unwanted and like I was a bother. My meatballs were actually tossed on to my table. Funny, she got really sweet when she handed me the check.
I went to Ava with a friend for brunch and the food and drinks were great. I was however not a fan of the automatic 18% baseline gratuity added to the check.. it was just two of us.
Gratuity is not the same thing as a service charge. Let customers tip well because the server deserves it, not because it’s a requirement.

Celebrated Mother's Day tonight at Ava's. Sat on the patio...fans and breeze kept it comfortable. Had Nicole as our server she was friendly, professional, attentive and did not rush us. We had the fried artichokes for an appetizer...they were delicious. Our party also had the Pomadora, the oxtail buccatini and the vegan chicken parm. Everyone loved their meals, portion size was good. Overall, pleasant atmosphere and good food.
Cute , chic yet casual place. Our waitress( can't remember her name for the life of me) was friendly, attentive and accommadating. We ordered mussels as an app and our entrées at the same time . About 10 minutes later our waitress told us that the kitchen never told her that they were out of mussels. She said to order something else and she'd take care of the mussels on the bill, which was very nice. Unfortunately, the lamb I got was pretty overcooked, at least for my liking. I'm guessing they started it around the time they would've started the mussels and then we had to wait for the new app we ordered. So by the time we got our entrées my lamb was overcooked.
I was looking for a good Italian restaurant in Tampa and on google came through Ava. So we booked a reservation for Friday. It is a nice restaurant with a nice decor and parking garage nearby. We were seated by the receptionist and greeted by the server Hunter with the water and menu. After browsing through the menu we decided to order 1919 Mule, Ravioli, Funghi Pizza, Italian Mango and Chicken Parmesan. The service is pretty bad and we had to wait a lot to get our food. The service is the drawback of the restaurant. First we got our drinks. The drinks were good. Nice mango drink. Then we got our Ravioli. Ravioli was delicious. Loved the ravioli. Then we got our pizza and chicken parmesan. Loved the pizza as well as the parmesan. Nice food with good taste.
Highly recommend coming in for Happy Hour! The 8" happy hour pizzas are perfect for a single person and at a great price. I got the basil pesto pizza, which was awesome, and the Ava dip which was ok but I found to have a bit of a strange taste (but to each their own). The bartender was friendly and served drinks quickly.
I sat inside, but they also have an extensive outside covered seating area, which would be nice when the weather is good.
This place was amazing. We celebrated my daughter's wedding dinner here and were in the private hidden room, atmosphere was amazing, the food was excellent and Nicole took awesome care of us all!!
Just two of us dined here and the food was amazing, and the service was the same. Our server Ceaser R was very welcoming and helpful about the menu. We ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs and the chicken parm and they were both lovely. The pasta was the closest I’ve had to feeling like I was in Rome again here.
