My family absolutely loves this place for its vintage flare and all-American feel. The cheesesteaks, burgers, and fries are all incredibly delicious and well priced for the large portion sizes. Egg creams are the best I’ve had in the area and the pumpkin ice cream is a very tasty seasonal treat. My young nephew also loves the playground and it’s totally a special feature of this place that we so appreciate.
The workers were friendly and so much effort went into my dip cone that I was taken aback when I saw it 🤯 literally a work of art and soooo creamy and rich! Medium was at least 2 big scoops if not 3, so my advice is go for the small cone. (I got Cherry Vanilla with cherry dip and chocolate sprinkles)

Gables has typical ice cream things (creamy and yummy), mozzarella sticks, nachos, chili cheese fries and the like as well as burgers and hotdogs. Italian water ice, milkshakes etc.
Great price for burgers and fries are huge servings, small is plenty to share for a tot and 2 adults. Cute little playground!friendly staff
Great little place, many choices and great outdoor seating area with plenty of room. Many flavors and they even had choices for diabetics, they had several types of frozen yogurts. They had a play area for the kids and ample parking with easy access. Highly recommend.
The best ice cream cone around. Flavorful refreshing vanilla soft served. I got the medium & it was like a large cone but was WAY TOO MUCH. Just like an ice cream cone from Ireland & far before NJ NY CT that I've tried. Well worth a visit after shopping at the Crossings Outlet.
We were very very pleased with the girl who served us last night! She was by herself doing everything so perfectly! She definitely knows what she’s doing, and definitely should be commended for it👏 The Sundays were out of this world & bigger than any custard stand we’ve ever been to!

Best local ice cream
If you are visiting Poconos and you like ice cream this is your must try place. They offer a lot of options at a cheap price. My wife dropped her ice cream and they refilled her cone for free. That was really generous. Very good service.

My family and I are on vacation and found this gem while going to Friendly's a few feet down the road on Wednesday 8/31/23. We got into friendly's parking lot and looked up Gabel's Ice Cream reviews and instantly turned around and went there. It was a wonderful decision. We ordered three hard icecream Banana Floats, Root Beer Float (which came with a full extra cup of root beer soda) and 2 orders of funnel cakes which are perfectly sized. They are mini's but surely filling. Everything was delicious. Excellent customer service. Price was fair. Plenty of picnic tables seating to eat at which we did utilize and had to finish in car as it got cooler outside with night air. No lines this night as I read prior reviewers. The sign is intriguing and bright to catch the eye so you won't miss it. They have a playground that a family utilized. Plenty of parking all around the place. It is a great spot with terrific hard icecream. We didn't taste the soft serve this trip. We hope to return if we are in the area. Great work Gabel's! Thanks for a wonderful experience!!!
