Copied from my personal page.... So Mike & I finally made it to La Familia in Taunton for dinner! We never make reservations, but since so many advised it we called as we were leaving the house to be safe and arrived about 30 minutes later. First impression... love that they care as much about the outside of the building ... lots of pretty, healthy flowers in all the planters. Inside - quite a bit smaller than I expected, but pretty & cozy. Hostess sat us immediately with menus. A nice young gentleman arrived immediately to fill our water glasses and returned seconds later with a basket of some nice warm ciabatta bread and some light fresh olive oil with crushed red pepper flake. Barely got to dip a piece of bread and open our menus when Leah appeared tableside asking if we'd like the cocktail / wine list & specials menu (not sure why the hostess doesn't just give these to you along with the regular menu but, whatever). Lots to choose from but it didn't take us long to make our choices. Leah must have been watching as she 'magically' reappeared tableside just as we put the menus down. A couple of the appetizers were really tempting but after deciding on our entrees decided it would be way to much food for one sitting. Beer for him, a glass of red Apothic for me. Mike went for the chicken parm. I choose a special - shrimp & scallop with a pesto Chipotle sauce. Both served with linguini. All the specials come with a salad, Mike ordered one too (was impressed with $2.99 side salad price - 1/2 what most places charge). Only 2 (house made) dressing choices - blue cheese & (our selection) a nice tangy Italian. Salads were nicely chilled but not icy cold. Nice fresh mixed lettuces and more than average cuke slices, grape tomatoes, thin sliced red onion & green pepper... and served in big enough bowls that everything didn't spill out as you eat it. Standard chicken parm... nicely fried cutlet, topped with cheese & sauce. I tried the sauce - had a nice rich, deep, long simmered flavor... he managed to devour about 2/3rds of it. My Pesto Chipotle dish was delicious. I expected some 'heat' with the chipotle, but it lent just a bit of a background spiciness along with the fresh basil pesto. The perfectly cooked shrimp, scallops and julienned veggies just put it over the top! Gobbled up the all the seafood & veggies with some pasta... brought home more than 1/2 of the pesto linguini - thinking frittata!! This is a great one to re-create at home!!

I can not say enough good things about this place! The food was incredible (lobster ravioli was OUT OF THIS WORLD) the staff was impeccable, especially our server Tammy!! She was so sweet and really made you feel comfortable. The staff as a whole really worked together and helped eachother and genuinely looked like they enjoyed it which isn't common. We will be going back very soon!

Had never been to Taunton before, but the family was there yesterday for our grandson's Doubleheader Baseball games. I had researched the night before and had read many reviews about a number of Restaurants. I was intrigued but we always decide as a group where to go for dinner. Pleasantly, the group decided on Italian, and La Familia was close by. The minute we arrived I could see that a lot of love goes into keeping this place up. Step inside and the first thing that strikes you is how lovely and immaculately clean it is kept. We were a group of eight, ranging in age from 9 to 74. I especially loved the large round tables where we could all see and speak to everyone at the table. Our waitress, Brittany I believe, (I'm very bad with names), was so very accommodating and friendly, but not at all intrusive. Just the right amount of advice and attentiveness and assured us that there was no rush at all. The bread, OMG, the bread. Delicious!! We had three types of Salads. Caesar, Wedge and Caprese. All three were delicious, very good sized and well worth the very reasonable cost. The Caprese looked like a work of art!! The youngest, our baseball player, decided on the Breakfast Burger with Curly fries. He was only able to finish half but declared it DELICIOUS!!! The Carbonara was the best I've had since we were in Italy. Raves for the Chicken Parm and Fettuccine Alfredo. Everything was fresh and delicious. French Onion Soup was a hit as were the Asian Chicken Fingers. Portions are so generous that everyone had leftovers for another meal and the price, for eight people was surprisingly reasonable and very well worth every penny. Now I wish we had more reasons to come to Taunton. Two and one half hours is a long time to drive for dinner but, I could probably be convinced to do it. We'll definitely be back!! Thank you for a wonderful Family Dinner out!!

Party of 5, met here for lunch on a Wednesday. What a treat! Gorgeous home environment. Delicious meals with good portions. Italian Portuguese type cuisine. French onion soup was good. Sangria was tasty. Chicken piccata hit the spot. My friends enjoyed their meals. A great spot to dine if you are in the area. Also, the staff were courteous, shout out to our waitress Milly!

I hosted my friends baby shower at La Familia. Beginning to end the service was outstanding. Our waitress was committed to great efficient service and was very friendly. Manager Neto was extremely accommodating! Kept checking in to make sure everything was running smooth. The food was delicious! All attendees raved about the brunch buffet we had. Oh yah, can not forget the cookie platter! Everything was so yummy. If you are looking for a place to plan any kind of gathering you should STOP looking, call Neto!

Went on a Monday for my fiancés birthday dinner. Nice place. We were seated upstairs with only one other table. I got the fettuccine bolognese. It was my first time getting it, I thought it was pretty good.My fiancé loved the seafood casserole which he said had a decent amount of seafood and the sauce was delicious. Sangria was good too. So was the tirimisu 👍 our waitress, Vanessa I think? 🤔 She was great also!

Waitperson, Nicole, was totally awesome. I was super happy they had a vegan/plant-based burger option on the menu. But they did the thing all the restaurants seem to do...add the vegan burger, with no bun to go with it. Like adding the burger covers the bases. Vegans want to eat a burger with a bun, too!

So perfect! Went on a date there and the staff was so nice and the food came out delicious and fast. Good portion sizes, and by far the BEST fried I've had. The steak and chowder came out perfectly.
