I love this place!! Burgers and fried stuff are just amazing! Love that you give your burger order directly to the guy who cooks it. My burger of choice is the Big One with cheddar. Wish the place wasn’t cash only, but that’s a small price to pay.
Fantastic burgers at an exceptionally reasonable price. Dump the gourmet and overpriced gourmet burger joints for this place. Worth the visit!

This place is legendary... and for a reason. HUGE burgers are grilled on fire, above a bed of smoldering mesquite coals. They have an intense smokey flavor you just can't get anywhere else. The Tijuana Torpedo is my fave.

I have been coming here for a long time. My uncle used to work under Ponch and Ponch is still at it for 40 years! Thos is a great place to eat and good atmosphere. The food is made fresh right in front of you and you can add bacon. You can build tour own burger too! I hage been comeing here since I was 6 years old. ��

My daughter and I ate the ' hamburger for old ladies' lol, it was a mistake, burgers were so good we should have ordered a bigger burger, its our favorite burger place now, and the crew running it were very nice!

Easily one of the BEST burgers money can buy - a must try! These burgers are unique and charbroiled to perfection. The line ups are worth the wait, the prices are super fair and the food is amazing. You get to enjoy endless toppings and cheap, cold beer on tap. It’s an old school BBQ spot worth visiting. Can’t wait to get back here!
This is a great burger! Straight forward burger cooked on mesquite with nice char marks (without being burnt). You stand in a line and basically tell your order to the person there, they stick toothpicks in the bun so the guy cooking knows what to make and when you get up to the front of the line you pickup your food.
We got two little ones and one big one along with a side of beer battered zucchini. The fun thing about getting a big one is that when you get up to get your food and the person says “you got a big one?” You can confidently say “Yes. Yes I do.”
There’s a condiment bar to add all your toppings. We all thoroughly enjoyed our burgers, they’re really a step above anywhere I can think of. The beer battered zucchini was excellent as well. I got a 16 oz beer as well which was good. Overall an amazing burger that somehow doesn’t sit heavy in your stomach.
This is how a hamburger should taste. I think it might be my favorite burger place. Wood coals, perfect amount of char, flavorful, and simple-no crazy frills. Just good simple, BIG burgers. Will definitely keep going back! Too bad it's in Arizona ... I live on the East Coast and will have to keep visiting to enjoy this place. 👍🏾

Great little place with a great burger! The service is perfect, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the burger was really good! I wouldn't change aa thing. The condiments bar is well kept and the over-all restaurant was clean. The fries were nice and crispy. We can't wait to try through this menu.
The quality of these burgers is absolutely superb. The rich char flavor the flame grill brings adds a nice texture to the patties. The onion rings and jalapeños poppers were amazing as well, crispy on the outside and filled with flavor on the inside. I also love the vibe of this place, it was bustling inside and you see your burger being made as you go through the line. The buns and toppings aren’t anything special however.
Great burger. One of the best I have had in the PHX area. The burger was well flavoured and I think the mesquite contributed.

Fun Hamburger & Chicken Sandwich place. It was very rustic/ western in decor, yet it was comfortable! Great burgers! Double 1/2 Pound down to a 1/5 Pound, Veggie Burgers, Chicken Sandwiches all grilled to order! Sides include Beer Batter O Rings, Mushrooms, Zucchini, and French Fries.

Read an article entitled, "Best Burgers in Every State." The Chuckbox was the one listed for AZ. Everything about this place is a, "5." The burgers are cooked right in front of you over a wood fired grate and both the onion rings (beer battered) and the fries are amazing. I also LOVE how all the condiments are in a salad bar type case in the middle of the restaurant so you can dress your burger as you'd like to. This should honestly be done everywhere. The people are amazing and the atmosphere was incredible. This is a new, "go to." Just remember to come early because parking will be an issue and bring cash because that's all they accept.
It's exactly what they say it is - excellent burgers and apps in kind of a dive setting. The ordering process is a little confusing for first timers but they help you through it. Everything is cooked fresh while you wait, and the wait it worth it. Everything was delicious with just the right amount of smoke flavor. I'd definitely go again the next time I'm up here!
Chuckbox is the move if you want a good burger and sides. They offer a large variety of food. Keep in mind it is cash only but they have an ATM if needed. Glad they survived the pandemic and are still going strong. The wait can be long so be prepared for that. Pro tip: you can skip the line if you phone in a to-go order and pick up usually within ten minutes or so (especially during the lunch or dinner rush). Overall, a Tempe favorite and worth it!
Chris was a cool guy to be around. The bacon cheeseburger was good and you were able to add your own toppings. This restaurant gave me a good local vibe.

Can't beat it for a burger or dog, and it's old school, cash only, which I like! I always order mine with Green Chile and cheese, you won't be disappointed.
Wow! What a great burger. We had the big one and it was amazing. It was cooked to perfection right in front of us. She had the rings and I had the fries, Both of us had the old fashioned root beer and do not miss that.
We re lined up to the door and they still took orders and served us quickly.

Real BBQ tasting burger, good flavor, slight Smokiness which adds to the good taste it left in ur mouth, wasn't over powering at all.. there zucchini chips were very good & had a slight sweetness to them which i found pleasantly surprising. This place has the Old western look & feel from all the western pictures on the wall.
Overall place was pretty good .
Had not been here in a number of years but it was just as great as I remembered it. The burgers were cooked perfect and the fries were good. The prices are also amazing compared to most other places these days. One very important things to note is that it is cash only! I cannot recommend this place enough.
This is honestly one of the better burgers I've had in recent memory, and it didn't cost $25. I'll start out by saying, I used to love 5-Guys because it was reasonable and fresh and you could put whatever toppings you wanted on it.
This place is exactly like that, but cheaper and better tasting! (I would still say 5-guys fries are better)
You form a line and order when you get to the front, but it goes pretty quick. They offer smaller burgers for less hungry people, or you can order a literal one-pound double bacon burger that is sure to take two weeks off your life. Then you watch your burger cook and head down to pay.
After getting your food, they have a little condiment bar in the middle of the place that you can add as much as you want of anything you want.
Overall a great place that I wish would start franchising so I could have one closer to my house.
