Friendly service and delicious food at a great price! I just discovered this gem not too far from my neighborhood last month. Their chicken and peanut sauce is very tasty; you definitely want more! Their Thai iced tea is a great way to finish off a meal there. I definitely recommend this place!
Excellent food and service. Spicy hot was perfect. First time here. I will be more adventurous next time!
I lived in Thailand for 6 years, and I was married to a Thai woman who cooked Thai food for me everyday. So I am quite familiar with authentic Thai cuisine. There's no such thing as 100% authentic Thai food in the USA because it's impossible to buy all of the ingredients here. However, the food at The Siamese Cat is some of the best Thai food I have eaten here in the states. The owners, Oh and Name, were very welcoming and gracious to me. And they are 100% authentic Thai people, which is good enough for me. Especially considering that most Thai food restaurants are run by non-Thai people.
A mom and pop restaurant for sure, which isn’t t a bad thing. (Quite the opposite I fact!) the food came out fast, and our waitress was very attentive and nice.
Lots of options on their menu. I ordered their Thai Tea and Pad Thai. Their Thai tea was DELICIOUS, but their Pad Thai was different.
The sauce was orange and had a hint of what tasted like sweet and sour soup. It wasn’t bad, but, different.
"The Cat" as I refer to it, is my favourite Thai place in greater Phoenix. It's a mom and pop place where the great food is only exceeded by the excellent service. I hesitate to post this kind of review because I don't want others to flood "my Thai place" but I do want the owners to be successful. I'm willing to risk having it get so busy that I need to make reservations.
I love this place.
Photos to come, the next time I go there.
This is the original Tai restaurant. There is much to enjoy and nothing to dislike. I try something different if not getting one of my multiple favorites. The ice coffee, a few deserts, a salad and some main dishes are "to die for" Other people have the same appreciation. The plaza is going to require tenants to relocate. If you have not experienced the best food and people you might want to give them a try.
I've been eating here for many years (20+). Probably my favorite Thai place in the Phoenix metro area. Excellent lunch specials!
It's a bit hard to find, but worth the effort.
I just read a bunch of these reviews, and agree with all the positive ones. My favorite used to be 107. The owner knows me, what I like, and everything. For the longest time I would just nod "yes" and she knew what I wanted. (207, chicken, Thai spicy plus 5). We went there every week for years (at least 3). Recently I've switched to Green Curry, love the flavors!
And, if you think we're overstating how good it is, that strip mall is dead (even the government office moved out!), And the "good" restaurant pad has seen many restaurants come and go ever since Swenson's left a long time ago. But "the cat" lives on.
Been enjoying this place since the 80s. The location, the owner, and the food have remained the same; all excellent. Only the mall that the restaurant sits in has changed.
Highly recommend the yellow curry with chicken (extra hot), Thai tea, and the coconut custard with sticky rice. As good as any Thai food I've had anywhere in the world.
Everything we ate was DELICIOUS. The panang curry, the spring rolls, and the 103 - SO yummy and the spicy level was perfect. We love spicy food and they made it HOT without losing flavor. The waitress was so kind, especially to our daughter. We will definitely be coming back.
I've been eating at this restaurant for 35 years. I first ate there in 1982 and they opened. It is run by a husband and wife and their daughter and he's always been that way. I'm a vegetarian and have been for over 40 years and this is as good a Thai food as you will have anywhere in the world. I know this because I've had Thai food all over the world. The people are extremely friendly and the experience couldn't be better.
I went with a group of 7 other friends and ordered the spicy noodles (hot). FANTASTIC. I tried all of my other friends dishes as well and they were awesome too. Definitely one of the best Thai places I've tried. The service was A+ as well! Give this place a try.
Very much a hole in the wall restaurant. It's tiny, authentic, and perfect. Fantastic dishes. I recommend getting it very spicy, making extra rice or noodles at home, and eating your delicious meal over 2 days. It's utterly delicious!

This place is not easy to find. It’s tucked way in the back corner. Let’s get the missed opportunity out of the way first. The dishes could use a some more flavor. The sauces could be thickened up. Ok, now the good stuff. The service is amazing! The menus has something for everyone. The lunch dishes are more than enough to fill you up. Everything is clean and well laid out. Finally, the two little spring rolls that come with lunch are oh my god so good. If your in the neighborhood be sure to stop by for a dish.
The food was delicious and the price was very reasonable. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely. However, no picture of the King of Thailand was hanging on the wall.
Every time I come to Tempe for business, this restaurant is my Sunday night ritual. I just love their eggplant and chicken curry.
Amazing food. Amazing service. Great presentation. I love this place. If you are looking for an authentic, intimate Thai experience, try The Siamese Cat. Love the hot and sour soup, but you've got to get it spicy!
This is by far my favorite Thai restaurant in the Phoenix area. I have been going to this restaurant for years and I have never had any bad food at this restaurant. I love the owners, they are super friendly and accommodating. The location of the restaurant is not the best. I feel like the location kind of keeps the restaurant a secret, which is great in a way for patrons like me who want to come in for a quiet dinner, but I would love to see more business for this restaurant as the food is amazing and the family that owns the restaurant is very hardworking and dedicated to providing a wonderful dining experience.
All the Thai restaurants in the area have their fans and they say "best in the area". I flew into town and did my own evaluation for a few places. This was my favorite of the bunch.
This is a plain and simple restaurant, nothing fancy. The owner was readily available and was interesting to talk to. Also lots of decades long locals come here to eat and with a little prodding they will share their favorite menu items. I love places like this.
I crave smoldering hot Thai food. I am not a curry guy, but I love those little red Thai peppers. On trips to Bangkok the wait staff would snicker in the corner as I sweated bullets eating the food. In a place like Phoenix I expected to find the hottest Thai food in the US. So I was surprised to find that all I tried are pretty tame, American versions of the real thing. This place was too. That said, this place had delightful, subtle and flavorful food. I loved it.
Price was nice.
Location was easy to get to.
My favorite Phoenix Thai place. I will be back.
