One of the Diviest dive bars that you could ever dive into. A Historical landmark of Tempe that has had many of amazing artists, musicians & patrons visit. The Owner Chuck is a phenomenal person just like his establishment. It's the Arizona CBGB's if you will. Seen more bands than I could imagine. Made more memories than I can remember. This place has touched the hearts & served beautiful souls. A watering hole like no other, hands down one of the coolest places I have had the pleasure to stain my mind with good times.

1 star for food bc there is none, 5 stars over all bc this is the divest of five bars and Mike the bartender rocks! You never know what you’re going to see here, and for me that’s part of the appeal. I walked in one night to an 80’s disco dj party and it was awesome. Definitely a Tempe staple.

This is your classic American dive bar. Very diverse crowd throughout the the day. The drinks are cheap $5 or less for beers. Has a music box when I was there on a Friday they had a DJ nice unassuming couple there to service not push for tips.

Nice atmosphere, good selection of beer & perfect size dance floor... slam dancers are limited in the velocity they can attain before the forced change in direction!

If you go expecting low ceilings, dingy walls, and a minute or two where you try to remember the last time you got your tetanus shot, then you'll get exactly what you expect. The place was starting to show cigarette stains in the 80s and they've changed nothing since, except maybe a light bulb or two. Because of this, you also get some of the best people watching a person can get from that type of bar. The young crowd as they first start exploring all the niches the bar scene has to offer, the hipster crowd always here to remind us that what's out is in, the crowd that will accept any type of live music, and just about everyone else. As the night got longer, the diversity of the crowd lessened. The regulars began to filter in and assume their usual positions amongst the visiting crowd. Give this place a try to at least say that you did (and survived to tell the tale). And bring cash!

I'm on vacation here in AZ and was looking for a place to ring in the new year. Instantly loved this place. Extremely friendly staff and good drinks. Loves chatting with all the patrons and playing some pinball. Had the "best shot" and won't be quickly forgetting that experience haha

Bartender was very accommodating, pouring me cup after cup of ice water in this suffocating heat, bathroom is graffitied but functional, the toilet was decent not scary, the bouncer guy was very nice 👍🏽 overall a nice experience, I'd recommend this place to see new talent and have a beer or two

This... is a dive bar. In fact, it's the diviest dive bar in Tempe. It's small, windowless, dark and literally 10 feet away from a head shop/liquor store. It's got warped pool tables, a loud old-fashioned jukebox, and weird microwaved slices of pizza for sale. It's amazing. Definitely a... landmark here; it's not for everybody. In fact, the regulars may glare at newcomers. But if you work through it and establish yourself, the Palo Verde can be a place for the people.

Played some pool, got super plastered, and got in a fight what I would expect out of a dive bar. 10/10
