I was in the area and crossed my fingers that this location was still open. It had been at least 20 years since my last visit. To my amazement, it was. The food remains to be the best flavor of all the teriyaki chicken restaurants in AZ. The whole shopping complex has changed, and Kyoto has stood true. Great flavor and excellent service. That's what stands the test of time, and Kyoto delivers all that one would expect. Still the best!!!! I can't wait to share this experience with my kids.
I love this place.
I was having a bad day, so i decided to get out of the house and come to this location. the nice guy inside was so helpful and patient with me.
I wasn't sure what I wanted to order.
He was patient with me and wasn't rude or trying to rush me.
I bought the pork fried rice 🍚
This place NEVER disappoints on their food! Delicious everytime and worth a visit whenever I get home from the road.
If I had to have a complaint, it would be that I was under a time constraint and showed up when they were supposed to open and no one was there. Traffic issues and shortage of employees were the reason, and it ultimately worked out in the end.
Absolutely love this place. Been going here 10 years and always get the #1 with a large mountain dew. Never fails, always goof. And the owner is super nice and ALWAYS smiling. Food is consistently amazing. And the large is enough for one sit down meal and one snack for the leftovers. The place reminds me of the 1980s and late 90s taco bell Era format. Go and you'll understand.
I have been going here for around 15 years and the owner has always been friendly and welcoming. The food is always prepared with care and presented with a smile. Will keep going back as long as the owner keeps this wonderful place open
We've come here for years. It was a lot more popular in the 90s. The proprietor at our store on Elliot is getting on in years, but that only augments his pride in getting orders right. It's really good food.
We throw our Oyako chicken and chicken salad bowls into bigger bowls at home with Romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and avocado topped with creamy dressing. Outstanding! May be healthier than Panda, but I haven't done the research. I hope this location stays in business. It's not exactly bustling with traffic.
Good fast Japanese style food. Teriyaki chicken bowls, California rolls and more.
Really sad to not see so many people in here 🥺 food was amazing and the man who took our order was very kind.
Hands down the best place for genuine Kyoto foods, all fresh and made to order. Family owned by extremely nice people and the prices and very low
First time here. Order to go 1 large Chicken Teriyaki. Side of sauce so hot it warped the container. Owner must be the nicest man in that plaza.. which is why they’ve been there decades +.. I’m embarrassed it was my first time there... in my defense I’m new to this area.. please don’t get me started on these sticky yummy ass potstickers... I hate baby corn so I picked it out... I would have given 5 stars if there were like a sweet OR savory sauce to go with the potstickers...
Probably my favorite teriyaki chicken place. However it's not all that affordable anymore. 2 spicy teriyaki chicken bowls and 2 small drinks- no salads or sides was just under $30. I could probably make the same amount of food at home for under $6. Inflation sucks. Honestly I don't know how they stay open. A friend and I were in there at 6:00 p.m. and we were the only customers and we only saw one person to come in to pick up a to go order while we were there.
So much better than I was hopin for!
I came in from the plasma bank and ordered a latge sweet and sour chicken bowl, no veggie, (the same thing i order with all asian cuisine restaurants) and potstickers. I order the same thing because I have found every place makes the dame dishes a bit differently- and I love how they made my meal!
They hand breaded and fried the chicken and it tastes so much better than any other restaurant I have been to. I asked them to deep fry my potstickers and they did it PERFECTLY, just as I like it!
I will definitely be coming back and I hope you will visit and give them a chance too!
Ps. The egg rolls are homemade and mine has steak in it!💜
This restaurant fills a particular niche and in my opinion is home to one of the best flavored terryaki bowls in town. They hands down have the best ginger dressing on their simple salad. I make it a point when I'm in the area to eat here and then take home a soda cup full of their ginger dressing for home, my family loves it as much as I do. The two restaurants left in the valley are showing their wear and have to compete with the more popular chains but I truly wish we had more of these great lunch spots in the Phoenix area.
Yesterday i can say the place was over ran with customers and they were short staffed but the men behind the counter did their best to pull it off . Great place. Keep in mind they're short handed but make it work
I'm a huge fan of fried rice and for a quick fix, Kyoto Bowl always has me covered! Their rice is fluffy and has the perfect amount of chicken, veggies, and a light sauce that's delicious. I have ordered both in store and online for pickup and haven't been disappointed. The teriyaki chicken is also quite yummy, the sauce is rich and the chicken is tender every time. I'm also a big fan of their spring rolls, especially with that sweet and sour dipping sauce! Highly recommend! 🤤
The location is clean, friendly and the food is delicious. My favorite is fried rice with shrimp. I visited the location four times and I can’t stop going :( so gooood!!!!
