Playing golf at Shalimar Golf Club is an incredible experience! The course is not only beautifully designed but also meticulously maintained. Every round of golf here feels like a journey through a picturesque landscape. The fairways are well-manicured, the greens are challenging but fair, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating.
The clubhouse and facilities are top-notch, providing a great place to unwind after a round. Overall, Shalimar Golf Club is a gem for golf enthusiasts. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic golfing experience in a beautiful setting.
I really think this course is one of the best values in the valley, and the vibes are always great. They have all the amenities you need up front between the pro shop, driving range, putting/pitching greens, bar, etc. On top of that, the actual 9 hole course is challenging, fun, and engaging. I’m blessed to leave nearby such a Club, and it’s my go-to place to golf casually or on shot notice. Never regret coming here, easy on the wallet.
First time going to this course. Made reservations over the phone & everything went smoothly. Golf carts are available, or you can walk. 9 hole course was great. Very well kept. They have a little area upfront where you can sit for food and drinks. Someone also goes around on the course in case you want to order anything. It was fairly busy, and we had to wait a couple of holes. Overall, it was a great place to go, I highly recommended trying this course.
I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the course after all the rain we had. The fairways were green and well kept. The greens were a bit small and tough to read but for a short nine holes I could understand that. The course played well though very minor delays. There was a lot of rain which washed out a lot around grass in the rough areas.
Nice little golf course and driving range in Tempe.
Reasonably priced.
Great place to tune up your swing before playing one of the fancy courses.
2 thumbs 👍
If you are looking for a nice quiet place to golf, and you’re learning how to or just starting out; I would highly recommend this place if you reside in AZ. The reason I say this is because this is a place where it is stress free; that is what I felt when I played there. Although, the course can get full, but I never had a time of where I felt rushed. The prices are reasonable, the rentals were okay (golf clubs), and although this place only offer nine holes; I still had a great time! Being that I am from the Great Northwest, I was spoiled with the weather (Pictures to prove). Although, I was a little concern and surprised of where the course was located. If you don’t know, the greens seems to be tucked away in a residential area which I am not use to (Houses on all four sides of the course). One would think that this course would be small, but I would say otherwise; the course is huge! As for the course, there are some areas where it is dirt but for the most part the greens offer luscious green grass. As for the holes, the grass is well cut. Most of course are straight shots but there are ones that curves off to the left or right. I will caution you though, hole number 5 can be a dozy (With a semi large pond). It’s a Par 3 (from the white box)and I believe it is less than 150 yards, so please use a 9 or 8 iron! I believe the course offers a par 4 and nothing more, but I could be wrong. They do offer a service cart. I really enjoyed having a cool one on the course during the hot sunny day, although drinking a Coor’s light didn’t help me to golf better (lol). The pro shop seemed to offer a lot, however, I was disappointed that they didn’t have their club logo ball. I collect them. The club house was cozy. I hear the food is amazing — maybe next time! The bar is good — It is so nice that after playing eighteen holes of golf, you can sit down at the bar, with no COVID mask, and gulp down a cold glass of Coor’s Light. What I like the most, the staff is friendly and very professional. Overall, the next time I visit my son (who is attending ASU), I will be going back there to get my fix (golfing), so please have your logo golf ball (lol). FYI - Can you believe they offer foot golf (I’ve never heard of that before lol)
Cheers and Caddyshack combined into one amazing, laid back dive bar! Local unknown gem of Tempe. Good rates, good times, great peeps.
AKA: Gillian’s Island! I dare you to come for just one drink. Shalimar…is…a…THREE HOUR TOUR!!! First drink is on me, if you can find me?! Look for the navy blue cart with the music and the good vibes surrounding it!
Super fun place!! They have traditional golf and foot golf (which is using a soccer ball and bigger holes)! The price was extremely reasonable and the staff was incredibly friendly. The only down side is the greens are rough and the cart path is sometimes hard to find because it's a dirt trail lol But for the price, its perfect. I'm a beginner and I felt so comfortable playing here. Sometimes the flags are hard to decipher between the gold green and foot golf hole from far away, and it's not always clear where the foot golfers are suppose to kick off from. But my friends and I had a blast! I will definitely be back!
Bit of a tricky course when you play the first time but still really good time
Fun, low pressure, executive 9 hole. It’s everything you want in a tiny local course.
For the price and great location I give it 5 stars. It's not an asking course but it is kept in good shape. Great pricing!
I was there for a fund raising event. We had our own food but used the bar for beverages. They were very reasonably priced for cocktails. The view to the golf course was lovely. I hope we come here again and would recommend it to others. We had a bingo nite and silent auction plus raffles. Worked out well with just enough room. Really fun nite, well done Kathy!
Quaint little 9 hole course. A calm place to enjoy a short round. There is only one issue they need to tend too. They need to turn over the sand traps . The traps should NOT have grass growing in it and be as hard as asphalt. That is not the reason sand trap is placed were they are . I should not be able to PUT OUT OF THE TRAP .
Nice inexpensive golfing experience in Scottsdale.....
