If you're ever in The woodlands please go check out the House of pies you won't regret it
First of all my waitress Kelly M. was very attentive, sweet and I would even go as far to say she went above and beyond to ensure I had an enjoyable breakfast. I was greeted with a smile and a water. I had a delicious cup of coffee and enjoyed the waffle platter with scrambled eggs and sausage patty. Not only was the food nice and hot but the waffle was not under done, which I find so many times in quick breakfast places. The eggs were not dry or runny and the sausage patty was cooked throughout, again not what you find and quick breakfast places that are trying to hurry and get food out. I will 100% be back with my family and I will gladly ask for Kelly if she is there.
The pies are amazing. Breakfast is quite good. The dinner items are not their strong point. Chicken fried steak came from a frozen patty. Again it’s a great place to go for breakfast and sandwiches and of course pie.
Originally from Dallas visiting the woodlands for the first time; my wife googled “good food” and this place popped up. They had me at cheesecake lol. Ordered takeout, the gentleman over the phone was really nice. We ordered a mushroom cheese burger, chicken fried steak, cheesecake, and the bayou cake. EVERYTHING was delicious!
We had never gotten anything from the House of Pies. My wife decided instead of us making a pie for our Easter dinner that this year we would pick up a Lemon Meringue pie. It turned out to have quite a good lemon filling and meringue but the crust was way over cooked and very hard. My grandmother was an expert pastry and dessert chef, her lemon meringue pie crust was very different in that it was not totally precooked but just partially so that then the pie was finished in the oven, the crust would be tender and have some flavor of the filling in it. A few days ago, we tried the chocolate meringue pie, again great filling and meringue but a hard, over cooked crust. Regardless, I think anyone getting one of these pies will enjoy it.
The food is so so good I would eat here everyday if I could!!! I absolutely love the staff, they are so friendly , so helpful and welcoming. You can tell that they love doing their job 😉
