Portions aren't big but the food is FANTASTIC and the service was phenomenal. They ask about dietary restrictions up front and make helpful tips. Highly recommend making reservations which we failed to do. But staying the night at Timberline Lodge, we called down and got added to the walk in list and got a text when the table was ready. Market selection appetizer was an especially great hit. Beautiful views at sunset too.

I was with a group for a summer tour of the lodge and we had the buffet lunch. I thought the food was just passable for the price ($32), although heard many other members of the group saying it was great. The lodge's historical ambiance and priceless views of the Cascades and Mt Jefferson from the windowside tables more than compensated for my slight disappointment with the food, so I'd do it again!

The cascade dining room is a very nice place to eat dinner at the Timberline. The food and service were phenomenal. Additionally, if you sit near the windows you can see a great view, especially on a clear or partly cloudy day. Pictures are the duck special, the crème brûlée, and the window view (as seen from outside.)

Great views, service, food and wines. Their duck risotto was fantastic - paired with an excellent Oregon Pinot Noir. Overall: excellent value.

Great scenery, show up early to see what the lodge has to offer. Very great atmosphere and experience. Set up a reservation too. Wish I could give 4.5 stars so will round up. My only blemish is I felt our waiter wasn't really listening to us. Made some recommendations that were off the mark by a bit. But would go back for the chef's plate. Expect to pay about $80/person.

Delicious food and a beautiful view. Well worth the money. Our waiter gave us one of the best dining experiences we've ever had.

Loved the lunch buffet. I stopped in during my PCT thru hike. We were hungry, stinky, dirty... looked like a homeless people. Every employee treated us like we were royalty which was shocking to us for such a nice establishment. I can't say enough good things about the service. The food was fantastic! Large variety of food. The salami machine was my favorite. The fruit plate was massive and had it all. Everything was delicious.

This place was an experience! Amazing food, drinks and atmosphere…. Prices are in line with any fine dining experience but this place goes above and beyond. Truly exceptional in every aspect. Sean was our server and was great. The entire staff goes out of the way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Top notch quality

Dinners are only offered to timberline lodge's guests, but still too popular that the wait time is about 20 minutes even with reservations. However, the food is quite good for a restaurant on a remote mountain. The service was also very efficient and friendly. I could tell that they may be understaffed and everyone may be working long hours, but this still does not affect their service quality.

Had brisket here, it was pretty tough to cut and chew as well. If you want better brisket come down to Texas for the real deal. The veggies on the other hand, were delicious as was the pulled pork. If you're staying at the lodge it's a must stop for lunch but not something you would drive hours for.

The lunch buffet hit the spot. We found a variety of fresh and cooked items, regularly refreshed. Our server was excellent: prompt, friendly, accurate, and not pushy, letting us sit and "visit." The atmosphere was classic Timberline: wood everywhere, lots of WPA Era metalwork, and the views spectacular.

We came up here to the Cascade Restaurant for our 40th anniversary. Gavin was our waiter and helped make our meal excellent. We had the Taste of Timberline and everything was excellent. Made for a wonderful end to our day.

Excellent food Food was flawless, great service. This is an excellent restaurant. I had salmon with cauliflower risotto, smoked hazelnuts and leeks, my husband osso-bucco with parsnip potato puree and walnut roasted carrots. Skillet baked chocolate chip cookie for dessert. All delicious.

Food great, somewhat pricey, OK for a vacation meal. We had the buffalo burger and the pasta. Waitress friendly but she didn't bring more water, even when asked.
