I'm trying to be fair here, but it's really hard for me to separate the enjoyment of this meal with the price. It's sushi. Sushi should be expensive here in Ohio just by virtue of how hard it would be to get fresh and high quality fish, so I understand that, but that being said, I then expect the wow factor to be as high as the price and it just wasn't there. We had a ton of food, so we really had the full experience. We had the V.I.P. Sashimi Sampler which was at market price of $60. My husband didn't blink an eye at the price, but how could you not be disappointed when a mere 8 pieces of fish are brought to your table for that cost?? Yes it was presented nicely over a bowl of ice with condiments of jalepeno, cilantro, green onion, lemon, eel sauce, wasabi and ginger, but $60 for 8 pieces of fish?? It wasn't like it was an exotic offering of fish, half of it was just salmon and tuna. It was fresh, but not exceptional. For comparison, we had the sashimi sampler at Kyoto Ka for $13 and we were served 12 pieces of firm, very fresh tasting fish that was absolutely delicious and didn't need any condiments to dress it up. Don't you just want to taste the delicious raw fish anyway??

We also started with miso soup, which was just mediocre; the seaweed salad and the octopus salad, both of those were good, but of the two we preferred the octopus salad.

Rolls...we ordered the Viper Roll, the Unaka Roll, the Superman Roll, the Black Dragon Roll, the Nagatori (sp?-it's the blue fin belly and scallions) and the sweet shrimp sashimi. The Unaka and the Black Dragon were the table's favorite rolls. In defense of the restaurant, the Viper and Superman were too "mayo-y" for us, which is not their fault at all. The "Nagatori" which is suppose to be super high quality was so unremarkable that I'm struggling with even describing it. The sweet shrimp sashimi was delightful though, as were there crispy little fried heads. 

So, for $175 we had some decent sushi. This was for three people. Honestly, I left hungry and I'm a small person. So, had it been priced the way that Kyoto Ka (so far my favorite Toledo restaurant for sushi) or even Nagoya is, I would have been more inclined to give it higher marks. If you really want great sushi for a fair price (not cheap mind you but who wants to each cheap sushi?) go to Kyoto Ka.

Salmon Kama - 2 pieces of salmon collar deep fried in garlic pepper crust, served w/ DOMO sauce.

One of the best dining spots in the Toledo area and by far and away the best sushi. Try the peppercorn tuna dinner. To die for.

Clean, straightforward Japanese.. Not a lot of frill and gimmicks, just good tasting, well-prepared sushi and calamari. I'll be back.

World Class!. After traveling the world and having sushi in many exotic places I rank Domo as my top 3. I admit it, I have become a 'sushi snob.' Everything John and James do to prepare their food is near perfect the temperature, presentation and taste. The staff is unbeatable! It's now hard to pass by Domo in my car, I want to stop in every time! Highly recommend Domo for any occasion. In fact, I'm getting my staff some today for the bosses birthday! Yahoo!

Best sushi in Toledo. I've tried every sushi restaurant in Toledo and I keep going back to Domo. The Hot Love is the best spicy roll ever. Recently remodeled, the place is better than ever.

Good sushi for Ohio. Some. Unique rolls and the calamari is served up like logs and was delicious. Some fish wasn't the freshest, couldn't eat my white tuna nigiri.

Lunch at Domo inToledo, Ohio. I has extremely impressed with the quality of food and service at Domo! I lunched there today with a friend. Everything was delicious, very fresh and beautifully presented. I would highly recommend to friends and will certainly return.
