The frozen margarita was delicious! The Paradilla de vegetales were fantastic! My husband enjoyed his beef fajitaa, and my teenager enjoyed his chimichanga. The servers were attentive, and the food was ready very quickly. If we go back to Tomball, we WILL return toEl Emperador!

My friend and I ate here for the first time last night. The food was great and the service was IMPECCABLE! I also loved the margaritas. The fresh homemade margarita mix was fantastic! Just found my new favorite Mexican food place! :)
A nice surprise hiding in the middle of old town Tomball on Main street within the Executive Inn. They have extended hours from breakfast to dinner and dessert. The place has ramps and handicap parking and booth or table seating. It's a real hot spot for working people on the go.
Hot, fresh fantastic flavorful authentic Mexican dishes or just a burger or burrito on the run. This is one of my Dad's favorite spots. It's very clean, friendly and amazing service with full plates, good portions for the prices. Highly recommend. If you like artwork the walls are also lined with eye candy for the soul.
Located in Old Downtown Tomball. Great location to eat and do some antique shopping! Food was fresh, tasted great, and large servings. Service was perfect! Definitely a place to try out. I personally think this is one of the better places I have been to. Pics will give you an idea of the food!

Our family loves El Emperador! The food is always good, comes out quickly and the staff is always incredibly kind. Our kids can get a little feral and they never seem annoyed by them. Thankful for this Tomball restaurant.
We had a very nice breakfast here. Food was good, prices were fair, and the service was great… kept my coffee topped off and food came fast. Waitstaff were all super friendly.
The service starts out well, and then it just dwindles. Most waitresses are really dry, no smiles. My son ordered his food and I was waiting for my other son and his wife to get there but one of the waitress asked me if I was going to order or not like it bothered her that I was waiting, just made me feel uncomfortable. I guess that's why they took forever to refill coffee. The food was really good though.
The food at El Emperador is amazing. I could tell lots of love and care was put into my order. Everything I tried tasted authentic and fresh. The lemonade was also exceptional. Prices are very fair, especially during this economy. I will definitely be back again.

We have been eating at this Tomball eatery for about 15 years. The food is good and the prices are also good. For Mexican food this is our choice in the Tomball area. Like most smaller restaurants, they do have turnover as far as the wait staff goes. I think that is pretty standard across the board for most food establishment. While I have personally gotten a few rotten waitresses, most of the time we get really good service. The food is good and I did not see the jump in post pandemic prices that I saw almost everywhere else. I especially like to order any of the TexMex breakfast offered on the menu. We do come for lunch and dinner, but most of the time, we come for breakfast. The owners are nice people and I have always felt comfortable giving them my business for many years. It's a comfortable place that you can enjoy with your friends and family at reasonable prices. It's also very close to Tomball Regional Hospital so if you get sick of eating at hospital cafeteria prices, try this place.
Simple decor. The restaurant is not fancy, just a good family dining restaurant. Good value with large portions. Loved their refried beans as they have some kick and are not the plain old beans that are boring to me.
This restaurant has been here awhile. It is my go to for chicken caldo in the winter. This visit was for seafood. I had the whole Tilapia fish plate. The fish was meaty and tasted like fish. No greasiness. The fries were perfect and crispy. The rice has a light flavor, just right for this meal. I ordered the avocado slices and they were perfectly ripe. The bread was toasted just right, had a slight crunch and softness at the same time. The limes were juicy as well. That was a plus. The shrimp plate had large shrimp and was also delicious. We enjoyed our meal. Plates are served full so you get full quickly. Loved the fish shape plate, it was cute.

If you're in Tomball this should be a place you'd stop. The only reason I took off a star is because the air conditioner was off...no bueno.
My son and I still will choose this place 4 out of 5 times for muy authentico comedia mexicana. 😬 The salsa, both are great AF! I could stand it to be hotter though, JS.. The table salsa the warm one, it should replace ketchup on anyone's dinner table. It's that good. Just my opinion, try it out if you haven't, BUT if you have though, Go eat there again! OH WAIT HOLD ON!!
I almost forgot, it opens for breakfast at 6am too! Those times where I'm up a few days and haven't eaten in just as long, this place serves a super breakfast with both mexican food with eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, makes this place EL Emperador! The top spot for mexican food in Tomball. The building that hosts this restaurant has a unique historical background as the town of Tomball itself.
This is not your average tex mex. They have a mix. Only place I have found that has the real Mexican specialties. Great service and atmosphere and food is always fresh and delicious.
The BEST Mexican restaurant in the south, hands down. Customer service is the best. The same employees have been here forever. They are so sweet and remember us every time. Food is is a 10/10. You can tell that they cook to order with every meal. If you are contemplating where to eat, this place will not disappoint you.
