Stopped by for lunch and was not disappointed. Excellent service. Nice folks. Had the Chicken plate with vinegar coleslaw, cabbage and green beans. The chicken was pretty good 4/5 - The white meat was a tad overdone but typical almost everywhere as the thighs and dark meat must be cooked all the way through. The Green Beans were the best 5/5 - Could eat those all day. The cabbage was overcooked (no texture at all...too mushy) but had a good flavor 3/5 and the Vinegar Coleslaw had a nice sweet tang to it 3/5 - Not for everyone with the strong vinegar flavor. Overall I'll be back for the chicken and green beans if nothing else.

The meat is great, cooked just right! The hot sauce could have used a little more heat... The staff was very friendly, we even talked for a while. I will definitely go back! Check them out for yourself!

We drove from Louisville.Ky to Tompkinsville, Ky. To get food.for a get together we were having. This place looks small from the outside but the food we picked up was good old country bar b que, chicken, pork steak, hamburgers, potato salad, macaroni salad, and green beans (that we missed out on because they had sold out). 😮 While we waited for our order, we sat outside because there wasn't a vacant chair inside! R and S is very popular and there was a stream of people going in and coming out while we waited. Our wait was not long so they work hard to feed you with hot food on your quickly. Everyone here was friendly and gave us that down home country feeling that we were all family eating a good meal. The owner herself was even there cooking and serving people. I hear she is there almost every day to expedite things and make sure everything is up to her standards. This is a nice little diamond in the rough with great food and service. I you are ever in the area stop on, your will be glad you did!

Got "educated" about this southern university from watching True South. Made it a point to find time. A 45min surreal drive later, and I found myself further engulfed in the definition of true south and enjoyed every aspect of it. From the small town feel, and the smell of it's smoke, to the desire to eat, tip and repeat.

. Their ribs are so good that it is the first thing that are sold out. We got plate of shoulders and shredded porks with 2 sides; oooooh they are soooooo good. For 9$ a plate with 2 sides and good eating we will be back. 😋

We are new to Tennessee and just moved here to Red Boiling Springs from Arizona. We have tried a few places like the marathon stations and their barbecue is pretty good. However, when you were suggested to us we went by and placed the order that we needed for Saturday. I arrived at 11:30 and the staff there ware amazing. We have been so impressed with all the people here in Tennessee but the staff at R&S were very polite. We are looking forward to to living here and making R&S a regular place to visit. When I arrived home there were a bunch of hungry people. When everyone was settled and eating, all of us were so impressed with the ribs, pulled pork, beans and macaroni. We most certainly will be returning.
