This is just a wonderful restaurant with excellent staff, food and decor. We were seated in Rocco's Room for an early Sunday night dinner (party of 10) and although the restaurant became very busy out front the staff remained 100% attentive. All the food was delicious and the sommelier helped us select two wonderful Italian wines to complement our meal which were very reasonable. This back room is beautifully decorated with old family photographs from Italy and NY as well as wine barrels. All the food was great but the highlights of the meal were the branzino, the rib eye special, and the lasagna. The kids lives the meatballs, calamari and pizzas. Yum! This is our new special spot for Sunday family dinner nights!
I wanted to try something new and different for my birthday dinner and found Primo on the web. I had no idea it had been open less than a month! The food was amazing, the ambience was electric and the wine and desserts were superb. My favorite dish was the lobster ravioli and the tiramisu was Delish! I also enjoyed the great selections on the wine menu. I love the piano and singing too!
We will definitely be back! Great spot for a date night too!
We were in the private room in the back last night celebrating our friend’s 50th birthday. The service was top notch and the food was superb. I highly recommend it. Both the manager and owner acknowledged and spoke to us about the history. Very nice!
Best Lasagna in Town! Highly recommend this place; great food, great wine list, and plus Lou sings like Sinatra!
Nice ambiance! Delicious food and wonderful service. A great place for special occasions
Great food and great ambiance. This was my first time at Primo Italia, but it won't be my last. Very helpful staff, I highly recommend.
Excellent food, ambiance is great ( a little loud) but the setting is great. Nice dinner music and some nice tunes sung. The owner comes around and checks in on his guests.
Had a nice post-anniversary Friday dinner out at Primo. We requested patio seating, and were seated promptly at our reservation time. The service was very friendly and attentive (water glasses always full). I started with a well-crafted Negroni. The food was all quite good. The wild boar pappardelle was the stand-out dish, and the fresh warm bread with olive tapenade was excellent. I thought the pear and burrata salad would have been elevated by some bitter mixed greens to contrast with the richness of the cheese and the sweetness of the pear and balsamic reduction. The cannoli were very good with a freshly brewed cup of Lavazza decaf to round out the night. There was a live pianist playing for the evening, but I thought it was a bit loud for the space. I was grateful to be seated outside where we could still hear each other speak.
I wish I could rate this more than 5 stars because it was truly one of the best dining experiences we've ever had and our waiter Bruce, made our experience even more memorable!
Bruce was on point with his recommendations in relation to what we were looking for in an appetizer, entree dishes, wine and dessert. I really appreciate that he didn't try to up-sell us either which most waiters do... I found my new favorite wine too because of him.
We have decided to make this place one of our regular spots. Highly highly recommend this hidden gem, especially Bruce.
We had a great experience here. It is a hidden spot. My boyfriend is Italian. His mom always made great Italian food for him when he was young, So he has very picky about Italian food. Since we moved to Redondo Beach, he wanted to find a good Italian Restaurant in this area. We are too lazy to drive to Downtown LA. However, this place has a great Margherita; Polpo Alla Griglia was good as an appetizer and Linguini con Vongole was excellent.
Also, We enjoyed the piano play. We recommend it to our neighbor.
One of the best authentic Italian dinners I've had this side of the pond! The world class wine selection, fresh Italian pastas, salads, pizza, appetizers and entrees are amazing! We had the black Kale Salad, octopus appetizer, Pizza arabiata, linguini and clams and Ossobuco. Yes we had leftovers only because we could barely move after feasting!

Elegant place, first time eating here and I had an amazing experience, food delicious, the bread super delicious, employees very professional, parking available.
I'll definitely go back.
Get the porchetta. The lasagna, linguine vongole, and calamari were all very good. But get the porchetta! And then the profiterole for dessert :) Service was friendly and fast.
Food is excellent! Great menu selection, perfectly prepared food, and excellent service. Overall ambience is probably the best you can find in the Southbay regardless of cuisine. If you're looking for authentic Italian cuisine with a mix of central and northern Italian food (which is what you should be enjoying...), this is by far the best place you're going to find this half of LA.
I absolutely LOVED this place. The owners are so involved in their business and the love that they have put into the place is really obvious. The owner sings Frank Sanatra, etc on Friday and Saturday nights to a talented pianist. Between songs you could see him walking to tables and engaging his guests in pleasant conversation. The food was so good (the black truffle pasta was probably the best dish I've ever tasted) that we asked the waitress to give the chef our compliments. A little bit later, the head chef came out and thanked us all personally for coming. When we spoke to the owner, he told us about the family heirlooms and pictures that adorned the walls. I was told that the owner's wife sourced the wines personally, and we enjoyed a dry red wine with our meal. I plan on coming back here on special occasions. Blown away.
