Came in on Fat Tuesday and I'm digging the Mardi Gras theme. 8 different soups every day, sandwiches and authentic Belgian fries that have 23 different sauces. Friendly staff. Not the same old boring sandwich shop we have all become use to.

We Went to The Soup Cup a MicroSouperie on Wednesday for lunch, and we weren't disappointed. I had the beef barley, W had the chicken noodle, and we shared the fries. The beef barley I had at this micro-soupery brought memories of having beef barley soup at my grandparents flooding back. The soup tasted like home <3 The fries are homemade as well; we haven't eaten fries in a long time, but these will be the only exception to our "no fry" zone. They were that good! Of their 20-odd homemade dips, I had the Utah and W had the cherry catsup; both were delicious and there was enough dip to last each of us through our share of fries. We got to the Soup Cup kind of late, so the hunters soup was sold out--which speaks to its popularity, as they make these soups in the gallons. Each soup is totally homemade, and made fresh every day. We didn't try the grilled cheese sandwiches on this visit (I can't have dairy), but William will give one a try next visit :) We WILL be back--I can't think of a better place to go for good soup on a cold northern Michigan winter's day. Locating the shop was easy, as was parking; the place seemed well run, and the experience was made more enjoyable by the brief introduction our counter server gave us to their soups. The cafeteria-style eating area was clean, and condiments/drink areas/etc were well stocked and neat. Wait/counter staff were attentive and friendly. This restaurant deserves every bit of 5 out of 5 stars.

I have Celiac disease, and this place has excellent gluten free options. They have different soups everyday, but always have gluten free soups, and their fries are in a dedicated fryer. For $12 you can get some soup, a drink, and massive pile of fries. That's a meal, right there. I only wish they had better hours.

They make all their soups fresh every day, from scratch! With 8 soups to choose from, you can sample as many as you want before making your selection. And their grilled cheese sammies & fries are yummy too! Love this place!

Great place for soup and grilled cheese. Note: Check the website first for what soups they have that day! They do have vegan and gluten free soups but not always more than one. They also have amazing fries and about 24 dipping sauces.

Black eyes pea soup with hot fries! Wow! Hit the spot! I tried curry ketchup. Just the right blend! Also the Utah fry sauce! It brought back the memories of 20 years living in Utah where everyone who knew anything ate “fry saice”. Thanks for the delightful meal and the yummy fresh slice of bread for dunking.

Really good soups and a nice atmosphere. The French fries are great, too. I meet my wife and kids there for lunch sometimes during the weekdays. Everybody loves it.

The Soup Cup is a to notch, quick lunch place. When you walk in you are greeted by one of the wonderful staff members. There is a selection of 8 fresh, homemade soups, including cold soups in the summer. Try one or all of them to figure out which you would like. Then add a grilled cheese sandwich or fresh cut Belgium fries to complete your order.

This is by far my favorite place to get soups; You cannot beat the variety, the way they handle their menu perfectly, and the wonderful samples you get to try. This restaurant easily places in my top 3 of local cuisine. I'm a big fan of the soup cup!!

Wow random find while in Traverse City. 8 fresh, diverse soups each day, grilled cheese sandwiches, had a daily special with apricot, a great combination. Also Belgian fries with a slew of tasty dipping sauces. Sad this is 5 to 6 hours from my house

The soups are delicious; however, the grilled cheeses and Belgium fries are good, but nothing to right home about in my lowly opinion. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the food.

Stopped in from out of town. Soup sounded great! Lots to try but a pepper jack grilled cheese won out. Delicious! Nice staff. If I'm in town, I will return.
