Our group stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for cocktails and to partake of their limited menu. The cocktails were fabulous. Arguably the best Negroni I have ever had. Really nice atmosphere, too. I don’t think they have any handicap access however.
For starters we had the fried green tomatoes and the spinach artichoke dip. The breading on the tomatoes was good. I would’ve preferred the tomatoes to be a little less “firm”/“crunchy”. Spinach artichoke was great and the naan accompanying was good. Wife had a lemon cello (their version of the lemon drop) and she had a strawberry field, which she really enjoyed. We also grabbed a salad each which were prepared well. Pictured is the Caesar salad and Baratta caprese so for the entrees we settled on the “Chalkboard Wellington” with asparagus and orzo. The crust on the Wellington was cooked great, the meat was the temp we ordered (medium). The Wellington tasted like mustard, there wasn’t much of any other flavor. The orzo was cooked good. Both the Wellington and orzo were under seasoned. I don’t feel as though salt and pepper should be needed. I don’t think that’s expecting to much. The asparagus was cooked well.
The server was great! Attentive! and took care of us well. Loved the atmosphere! It’s a place we will be back to. I just can’t recommend any dishes from our experience tonight.
What a pleasure it was. 104 outside - Cool inside.
Forgot to ask the barkeep the Gin brand but it was something local. Really aromatic.
Salmon was cooked to perfection.
This place is incredible. The atmosphere, the service, the food…absolutely is now one of my favorite places. The burger was insanely good! Kevin, the waiter, was one of the best servers I’ve ever had!!! Also can’t forget the drinks are top notch as well. You can’t go wrong here!! Thank you so much for the great experience! The manager was also great! Lucas!!
Wow! The service was amazing. Natalie, our server, just made our experience with all the recommendations and the pacing of the food and drinks throughout the entire experience.
I would highly recommend this for any occasion, but especially for an intimate dinner. The ambassador hotel setting is amazing as is the restaurant. Truly a tulsa Treasure.
I did love the atmosphere of this place, super nice but the service was a little slow. They recently redid a lot of the restaurant and it looks amazing! The food was also really good!
I wanted somewhere delicious, romantic, and downtown. Everyone talks about chalkboard but I didn't believe it until I made some reservations and walked down. The building is absolutely adorable and the live music was a wonderful mood-setter. The cocktails are well priced and plenty boozy. But the highlights were every piece of food I got to enjoy and the great staff. Everyone was attentive and as prompt as the chemistry of cooking would allow. Our server was knowledgeable and kind.
The food was absolutely next level. Gorgeous plating, locally sourced and seasonally appropriate offerings. The baked brie blew me away, and I enjoyed every bite of the duck breast. If you're looking for a wonderful way to spend a special evening, Chalkboard is the place.
The wife and I were tired from being on the road all day (Rt. 66) and just did not want to leave the hotel so we decided to go down and give the Chalkboard a try. We were surprised by this restaurant. The food was fabulous and the service was excellent. Kevin, our waiter, was attentive to our needs. We had drinks and a great dinner with a dessert. We left feeling much better. Overall, I would say the experience was outstanding.
Sunday brunch downtown Tulsa. Location is small with about 10 tables inside and limited outdoor seating as well as a full service bar with about another 6 seats. Low light ambience and limited capacity make for a great date night idea Crowd for brunch is an older church crowd. Service was fast. Today we have
Eggs Benedict with shredded short rib and roasted potatoes.
It is rare to find a place in Tulsa that can prepare and serve a proper Eggs Benedict. The dish itself is simple but requires skill is preparing the sauce and poached eggs. It is not a dish where you can just throw ingredients on the grill or in a deep fryer. The Chalkboard does an excellent job. Eggs perfectly poached. Sauce was creamy with just the right tang. The beef short rib was very good tender and wonderfully seasoned but I suspect I would have preferred the Canadian bacon instead. What can I say but I am a traditionalist with these classic dishes.
So little did I realize my timing was impeccable. The second day of The Chalkboard being open after renovations their moody yet classy ambiance set the scene for a lovely dining experience.
I stopped by due to raving reviews and figured it would be a lovely place to have dinner during my work trip. The photos added show the lovely plating that gives merit to their name, The Chalkboard. The flavors of everything however I can’t simply show through photographs. The mint yogurt sauce for the melt in your mouth lamb was the perfect compliment and had the perfect amount of kick of fresh garlic that’s reminiscent of my middle eastern family roots. The lovely spiced honey went super well with the mustard and the practically any combination of items I ate on the charcuterie board complimented each other exceptionally well.
Then there was dessert. The house made ice cream flavor of the day was pineapple ginger which sounded unorthodox but surprisingly went phenomenally together. In fact so well I forgot to photograph the dessert before it was gone! The ginger wasn’t overpowering and enhanced the refreshing flavors the citrus that came from the pineapple. The service was absolutely outstanding and I had a lovely experience and will look forward to dining here again.
The only complaint/critique I can think of providing us that I did not have a cheese knife for the charcuterie board.

Small quaint yet sofisticated atmosphere with great staff. My husband LOVED the amazing smokie burger with sauted onions and bacon marmalade with cheddar cheese. My eggs Benedict and smoked potatoes with mushrooms, onions and peppers was fabulous as well. It comes with the choice of potato or fruit cup....I took both and glad I did they were awesome! Great coffee to 🙂
We will be back!!!!
Update: Spring 2023
They have changed the style of the restaurant and the menu...NOT IMPRESSED!!!
Here for a wedding party, so enjoyed service in the room in the back. It's a cool spot to host a party of 8-30. The two hosts, Natalie and Kenny, were amazing. Very responsive.
The food was good. I recommend the crab cakes for appetizers, pecan salad, and the salmon dish. For dessert, breading pudding and chocolate cake were great.
We went for breakfast and Cappuccinos. It was pretty much vacant except for us and a couple at the bar. It felt like we rented the place out.
I had to go ask for a straw for my water from the bar area person.
Our waitress wasn't around much.
Overall , it was a beautiful breakfast with my husband.
This is a beautiful place to dine with delicious food. The prices seem a bit high and the beef Wellington wasn’t perfect but close! I would go again. Nice vegetarian choices.
I need more starts!!! The atmosphere, the music, the food and the service was phenomenal. We, my wife and I, had a great experience. Everything from "Welcome to the Chalk Board" to "Thanks for your visit" has both of us looking forward to our next breakfast date.
