Growing up, I have always had my heart attached to Indonesia. My Eyang (meaning Grandparent in Javanese; Java one of the islands of Indonesia) often pushed the culture into our mixed family. He is the first in our family that came to the states. The respect and morals have been derived from him.
He loves this little restaurant so much and often visits when he comes to the states and that’s how he introduced me! I fell in love with the food and the flavors as well as the beautiful customer service.
The owner educates you on the islands, languages, food, and culture making you feel just a slight glimpse of the truest Paradise on earth ever.
Today, I brought my Husband to be welcomed warmly with all the deliciousness of food. We both wipe our dishes cleaned. I wish I can say even more of the happiness I felt sitting in the restaurant— but here are my photos to wrap it up.
I hope you can enjoy the culture and food just as much as I do an even more!!
Let’s go Indonesia!!
This place has became a must when our family visits Tulsa. Indonesian cuisine is rare but so good. The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet.
I usually have trouble getting my younger son to try new types of food but he calls this his favorite restaurant in Tulsa. Make sure you get the Bakwan. They are so amazing! Kids love their noodles.
Their Rendang curries is so flavorful.
Great Halal food around the corner from the Masjid
This place has been recommended to us and of course we had to try! All the food, no exaggeration, i have tried were delicious!! Actually tried to find recipes to make them home but they seemed complicated so if you guys are craving for indonesian food or just something new, i suggest you try! We went at lunch time, place was clean and tidy. Price was fair, actually very good price for the quality of the food. Try their beef rendang and bakmi goreng!! For dessert, we tried their tropical fruit ice cream and they were good too! I will definitely come back :3
We stopped in for the 1st time and ordered Siomay and Combo D-1 (wrapped in banana leaves). We were seated immediately, well taken care of, and enjoyed our lunches so much that we're already planning on going back. My husband and I have both lived in different parts of Asia, we highly recommend you go to Rendang and try something new, Tulsa!
I have eaten few times at this place when visiting Tulsa and have always been great experience! Just received to go order! The Rujak Aceh, and it is phenomenal. The Nasi Goreng Rendang is super delicious. Batagor is one of my favorite and Es Cendol is a must try!!! My husband loves loves Satay Ayam and Martabak Telur a lot! My son loves the Pandan Cake. And.. Bakwan sayur is as amazing as Martabak Telur!!! The packaging is good too.
Yes!! This place IS amazing! I found it, due to already being in the area during lunch time. I will not travel to come back!
So, pulling up, it isn't the appearance I would say I would typically choose. The restaurant is in a strip mall, and not a good one at that. Looks are completely deceiving, in this instance!!
I was welcomed immediately upon entering the restaurant. I was provided a menu (with pics of the meals!) which made order selection easy!
After ordering, I noticed they have fresh brewed coffee. You can order it filtered or unfiltered (grounds in the coffee). I chose filtered. The coffee is fantastic!!
The meal arrived quickly! It was piping hot! I was so excited, I began eating before I thought to snap photos! Coffee, Food, and Tea were excellent! The service was quick, friendly, and warm, as if they were entertaining me in their home!
I cannot say enough good, and the food is AMAZING!!
The chef, a James Beard finalist, is without a doubt the premiere chef in Tulsa. Her food is so good, nothing needs to be added, and it is perfect right out of the kitchen. Try the F1. It is delightful
I liked the food, hospitality, reasonable price and their management. The food really reminds me of the food I has in Asia. I recommend to many of my friends. I love the food. Rendang,Martabak and Durian ice-cream are my favorites.
Best food place in Tulsa. If you wanna try authentic Indonesian food and cuisines, this is the place. Enjoy!
This place is amazing. The neighborhood seems a little sketch, so I anticipated something good, and was not at all disappointed. The portions are large, and the variety and selection of dishes is as well. We ordered the corn fritters to starts, and they came out crunchy, and surprisingly light. My wife and I shared the two combo plates, in order to try multiple things. Everything on the plates tasted awesome. The chicken sate was extremely tender and delicious, the fried rice, coconut milk chicken, beef, white rice, aaaallllllll so good. Can't praise this place enough. Service was friendly, atmosphere is bright and clean. Only good here. DEFINITELY check em out!!!
