I love Local Bison. They have really great vegan options and very very fast service, especially when doing pickup. This is my favorite place to get lunch during the workday and has become a mainstay for my office!
I highly recommend:
Vegan Menehune
Vegan Pimiento Grilled Cheese
Sweet Potato Fries
Chipotle Aioli
Great Food and love the local presence. Great flavors and fresh quality. Had the Hummus platter and you can taste that the Hummus is made fresh in-house. Also shared a Bison Burger the Bacon Jam is Fantastic. If you like Gorgonzola, ask for a side for dipping but it is strong……which I loved. ALL the staff was so friendly. Very nice atmosphere. I always check the bathrooms at a new place and there was some fun character to the restroom. Could have used a little touch up in cleanliness but not bad. We were just traveling through but we’d come back if we visited again. Thanks to the Galvez family for a great experience.
Love The Local Bison! One of my favorite local restaurants. I love how I can get anything made vegan and my non-vegan friends can still get what they want too. Everyone I’ve taken there has been impressed with their burgers. The tomato jam on the bison burger is amazing. Highly recommend!
This place is amazing! Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Most of their ingredients including liquors and beer are locally source. Menu is very well thought out with options for everyone. Vegan, gluten free, and everything is absolutely fantastic tasting. I ordered the Bison meat loaf which is the best meatloaf I have ever had. Well worth the money. Their salads are amazing. I also had the roasted carnival cauliflower. It was amazing too! The deviled eggs as well are out of this world! All around, this is one of the best restaurants in downtown Tulsa if not the best! A must visit. You will not regret it!
Went today for my birthday Linner. I just love that all burgers and sandwiches, well most things on the menu can be made vegan. I usually just get the plant based burger, but today We tried more things. The jackfruit sandwich, mango quinoa, plantains, loads of waffle fries, and salad. Oh and I was treated to the mango dessert for my birthday. It was delicious, but I was too stuffed to eat it there. The Local Bison is a must if you have both carnivores and plant based eaters. Chef's kiss to the chef.❤️
Love the Local Bison. Touristing this weekend and found these guys searching vegan/veg around me and ❤️ seeing all the options. Also loved seeing a restaurant using local sources 👏🐄 My carnivore loving hubby was psyched to try the bison burger and I had the roasted vegetable salad, we also had some blistered okra but were also torn with trying the charred cauliflower.
Lots to choose from. Check out the colors in these dishes. Loved it 😍matched the equally fun decor and atmosphere.
We also enjoyed a local brew and a G&T organic gin made with botanicals - yum, didn’t grab the name
There’s a cool outdoor eating area that is also pretty neat in the summer as well. We ate on Friday late in the afternoon and I was super glad the kitchen was even open 🙌
Quick to seat us on a Friday night, fast service and unique food. Brussel sprouts were tasty and the steak frites was really good. Cocktails are fun and well poured. Definitely recommend
Our waitress was wonderful. Very friendly, yet gave us space. The food was delicious. It can still be difficult to find Gfree foods, yet they had several options.
We both had Hamburgers, my husband had the curly fries and I had the Tabouli salad. The fries were yummy, but hands down, the Tabouli was amazing. It was refreshing. I could have (and probably should have) taken some back to our hotel room.
Really great cool place. Good burgers combinations you don’t usually get.
The chicharonnes to start would good to snack on. Fresh and crispy, way they should be.
I got the Bison burger. It was clean beef. The shoestring fries were seasoned nicely. Great lunch meal and didn’t make me feel too heavy going back to work.
Would have also like to try the Cowboy burger bc of the pimento cheese.
Another great experience in a serious food scene in Tulsa.
Got the bison burger and artichoke head bites.
The artichoke head bites by themselves didn’t really taste like anything besides bread. But paired with the pineapple salad and sauce they were pretty good. Wish I tried the Brussels sprouts.
The bison burger was good but the bun was cold. I’m sure that was intentional but I wish it was a warm toasted bun. For the price point, 32 $ for my app and burger I’m giving it a four star. Good but not amazing. I would have gotten something similar for sure for less but my server was amazing and the fries were great.
First time trying this restaurant since I started to see some instas on my feed, food looked good so decided to give it a try since we were staying downtown Tulsa anyway.
Not disappointed, the best part is that is not the pretentious place their menu could have make it sound to be, and the prices are definitely not of a pretentious place either.
We had the Thunderbird sandwich and the mushroom burger and shared, both good, twisted fries get some estar points too.
Overall a good experience.
Hummus and Tabouli were excellent, Deviled eggs had a delicious curry taste, pasta was handmade with a nice chew. They have many vegan options . Friendly service. Would definitely return.
After a day of work, the Fiance and I decided to pop in for a quick dinner and a 'drive' around Tulsa on our rented Bird scooters. We were dressed casually which was fitting for the atmosphere of The Local Bison. We sat at the bar which was clean and was helped immediately! We both ordered an appetizer (Fried Green Tomato Caprese), Bison Burgers and a few drinks a piece. Food came out piping hop and the drinks were ice cold. Will for sure be stopping in again after our ride around Tulsa on the scooters!
P.S. Try the Fiesta Cerveza for a nice crisp beer!
Amazing vegan options!! They were also able to accommodate many dietary restrictions and allergy needs too! We ordered the vegan cauliflower banh mi and vegan jerk chicken sandwich. So great and wished we lived in the area to come back often.
The food was delicious and the beers were cold and fresh. There are lots of healthy and vegan options. Cute place to come for lunch . There are tons of pictures on the walls commemorating Tulsa as well as local artist paintings for sale. I will be back again for sure.
I strongly recommend the Kane’s Jalapeño Pineapple Corn Muffins appetizer and the Cactus Flower drink. Honestly, I wish I could have just ordered that appetizer with some grilled shrimp. It was so good!
Stumbled upon this kitchen and bar wandering downtown. The staff here is awesome. Natasha makes some hella-delicious drinks. We made it during happy hour and ate pretty much all the appetizers on the happy hour menu. We drank a lot of the menu too. Almost hated to leave. Good job!
Heard really good things about this place and decided to check it out at happy hour. Had the beer battered onion rings and fried green tomatoes, the onion rings were insane and so was the fried green tomatoes. Also had a few beers on tap that were very good. Great fun place with a lively atmosphere.
Chatted with the friendly Owner and the staff were also very friendly and attentive. Saw the incredible looking burgers being brought out and will try those the next time with our lunch group. I'll be back.
