Fantastic food! I had the small Greek salad (which was actually quite large) - delicious and came with a wonderfully tangy Mediterranean vinaigrette. I also stole a bite of my husband's turkey bacon, pear, raspberry sandwich - wow! So tasty! Now I need to figure out how long it would take to work our way through the entire menu :p
Arrived at 5:45 to meet a friend for dinner. Both inside and outside dining areas were busy. I requested inside, a table had just finished so the service staff immediately cleaned the table and I was seated.
I received menus and beverage service right away and staff made sure to check in on ice tea refills frequently. We ordered the garlic chicken salad. It was incredible. Not really garlicky and perfect blend of ingredients. They had many salads, soups and homemade entrees to choose from.
I would give the service staff, menu and food quality 10 stars. Will definitely be back on my next business trip.
Been going here for many years. Now that my diet is vegan, i appreciate this place even more. The food is good with a lot of great vegetarian and vegan options. They really have made the idea of providing comfort healthy food a fantastic option. I have had many salads and hot menu options here and still love the garlic chicken salad, although no chicken any longer for me.
They also offer tasty vegan cookies for a nice sweet treat.
Fun healthy restaurant option...
A must go for us, it made us forget we’re having mostly veggies. DELISH everytime. The Chumichuri bowl was a festive bowl with every bite a party in our mouths. The Turkey cranberry sandwich is so balanced the Turkey so well seasoned, the homemade cranberry that’s not too sweet elevated the taste to a synchronised dance of subtle highlighted flavours. They don’t fight with each other, rather, compliment each other. Like a marriage that works. Fulfilling our tummy, taste buds and soul. Always leave this place happy and content.
A friend brought me over for lunch and it was such little gem. They have both inside and outdoor dining. The portions are really big and the salad was massive!!! I was so shocked, it’s the biggest bowl for salad that I’ve ever seen! (I tried a bite of my friends Chinese chicken salad and it was super fresh and delicious. I’m definitely getting a salad next time) For lunch I ordered 1/2 a sandwich combo with soup. The potato cheese soup is on the healthier side, which I didn’t mind! The sandwich was avocado with tomato and cheese. It was super fresh and simple, perfect for a nice warm day. Overall, I got a sense that the food is fresh, clean and simple- and you can’t go wrong with that! The menu is so vast that it even has a table of contents…. Lol love that!
My wife and I had a delicious lunch date here. We were both so happy to find this place because we’ve been craving sandwiches.
We both ordered tuna sandwiches and they were delicious. The best part was the chili bowl I ordered as well.
We will be back here soon because we want to try all of the sandwiches. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Modern blend of Californian, Mexican, Mediterranean, and other cuisines situated in a historical building on Main St. The menu is extensive and features more salads, sandwiches, soups, desserts, juices, and coffee drinks than you can imagine. Service was polite and quick. Portions are on the bigger size, considering prices are modest. Strongly recommended. Outdoor seating available with heaters.
My family and I love Rutabegorz. We've been to the orange and fullerton locations and finally got around to this one. It's just as exceptional as the others. Food and service are always top tier. The seasonals are also a treat. I switched up my usual and tried one and finished every bite. Both of my parents also thought their meal was fantastic and so did my brother. If you ever visit orange county definitely look these restaurants up.
I have been eating at Rutabegorz (Fullerton store) dating back to 1973. A friend of mine, Diane, got me started going. Now my entire family eats at all three stores, mostly Tustin. Love the food, staff, and customers.
Absolutely fantastic. The bacon, pear & raspberry sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I'd ever had! And our server Kammi was delightful!
Rutabegorz is great! They have a big menu and it's all so good I always have trouble deciding (the autumn seasonal menu is particularly inspiring). Their bowl entrees (veggie, rice, pasta) are usually what I go after. So many options for eaters of all kinds. It's one of the only two places I'm aware of where you can be served a quesadilla with a gluten free flour tortilla.
Mind you though that it's a very leisurely dining experience and while I would say the service is good, it won't do to dine in if you're in a hurry.
Back for more but at Tustin this time. Service was great. Server was super nice and accommodating. Everything was good except the potato cheese soup. Skip that one. Also, the clam chowder was not as good a the cocky leeky. The chimichurri bowl was really good. BLT was different from the Fullerton location. This one isn't triangle. Overall, great place to eat
Historic rustic charm, food is delicious, healthy and plenty of it at fair prices. We had delicious chicken enchiladas, bean dip and chips and side salad. Homemade cheese cake. They also offer cookies and carrot cake and other desserts. Extensive menu offers great desserts and drinks. Service is friendly and efficient. Located in Old Town Tustin.
Without a doubt my favorite place in old town Tustin. With the size of the menu, it’s like a mom and pop Cheesecake Factory. Everything I’ve had here has been great, and I love the 53¢ dip they have every month. Cheesecake is so good, as are the cookies. Artichoke dip is homemade and the margaritas are not only delicious but the price is totally reasonable. Something you don’t see much in OC.
This place has a big menu of mostly healthy choices. A lot of vegetarian selections but stuff for the carnivores too! The staff is awesom, Kisha was great! Indoor and outdoor seating.
Highly recommend, check it out.
This is my Luke's Diner. Large garlic chicken salad with the $53 cent monthly dip hits the spot every single time. The decor is perfectly cozy and quaint, the staff is friendly and the meals are consistent. One of my favorite things about Ruta is that they offer multiple plant based options on their menu. It's refreshing that my vegetarian friends and family have many things to choose from. One of the best things about Tustin.
Our favorite healthy food restaurant. Rutabegorz is far ahead of the vegan/ plant- based foods. And most importantly- making vegetables taste delicious. The menu is robust with appetizers, main dishes, desserts and more. The portions are large and we always take some home.
The restaurant is cozy, healthy with a warm, welcoming feeling.
The outside seating is great because you sit in cute downtown Tustin. It’s dog-friendly for seating.
