They have fresh sweets available for purchase, they taste really good. At 12$ a pound its a reasonable price.
Update as of Dec 2023:
The grocery store and restaurant are formally separated albeit under the same ownership. The menu has changed somewhat, chaats still available but limited variety. Kachoris, dhoklas, chhole bhature, Pooris were not available. The portion sizes of gobi manchurian and sev puris were about 75% of what they used to be. Emphasis seems to be on the formal roti, rice, sabzi items. We are not too thrilled about the changes. Hence taking off a star from our previous 5 star rating.

Oct 2023: We went here more for the food than groceries. Our first experience with the chaat was surprisingly good, so we went back a week later. Did not disappoint on either visit. We tried Sev Puri, Kachori Channa, Dhokla, Gobi Manchurian and Chilli Chicken. All the items were delicious. Definitely one of the better options for chaat in Orange county. Portions were generous for the price. While the Gobi Manchurian took some time to prepare, it was well worth the wait. Hot, crispy and just the right blend of spices and flavor. This appears like a simple, economical, family run place and it shows in the attention to detail and repeat patrons who struck casual conversations. Will definitely be on our short list of places to satiate our chaat and snack cravings!

Finding authentic ethnic food is a truly joyful occasion.
Growing up on the streets of India where every breath is scented with spices and delicious flavors, I must say that I know a thing or two about Indian food. And unfortunately 9 out of 10 times I’ve tried it in the US, it’s been a disaster. Honestly, I cook better food than most restaurants (and yes this is a full-on challenge if you wanna hire me as a cook haha).
But I’m seriously impressed with the food from Laxmi Sweets and Spices. At first glance, this small store looks like so many typical Indian markets - a little overstocked, a little disorganized, and with seating in the back that seems almost as an afterthought than the highlight of a restaurant. However, my God the food here is absolutely incredible! Both my fiancé and I are absolutely in love with their Navrattan Korma - so much so thats it’s become an almost weekly staple of our dining habits.
Just FYI - they do serve meats, but have quite a few separately-prepared vegetarian options. The Navrattan Korma as I mentioned is the best. But their Chickpea curry, spinach paneer, and the Indian traditional street food Pav Bhaji are all very good as well.
I’m so grateful for this family-owned business bringing authentic Indian food to the US. And while I don’t think I’ll ever get myself to dine-in sitting in the middle of a “restaurant”/grocery store, my fiancé and I will be customers here for a long long time!
PS - they just signed on to GrubHub! I think I’m gonna be addicted 😂
The only store in Tustin, and near Irvine which has authentic Indian food, especially south Indian food. They have a well maintained retail section in the store with all important Indian cooking stuffs.
This is my go to store for authentic Indian food and shopping.
This is one of the best places where you will get very good Indian food and groceries. If you eat Chat Masala or Pani puri, you feel like you are in Delhi and for Masala Dosa you feel like you are in South India. They have lunch buffet, different types of Thali etc. Apart from foods, Hindi movie DVD is also available for rental. You must try Ras Malai here.
A gem hidden in a hole-in-the-wall place. A grocery store with a restaurant that serves authentic, homemade food. The smell is divine right when you walk in and the dishes are very good. Staff are polite if a bit reserved.
We ordered chicken tikka small tray and saag panner also is very tasty and delicious but chicken and paneer little bit less otherwise tast is very 👍
The people running this place seemed a little cranky but I’m giving this five stars anyway because it’s some of the best Indian food I’ve had in a long time. Hadn’t even planned on eating, I went in to use the restroom and it smelled so good I had to try it. I got the tikka masala and a vegetable dish; both were exquisite and really authentic (yes, I’ve been to India).
We are proud customers of India Bazaar and noticed great improvements since Rajubhai joined this store. You will agree when you visit this place.
This store now got expanded ,more space and table spacing to sit and dine!
Great store for quick grocery shopping. I've been coming for 3-4 years. Fair prices and their inventory is fresh. I always check expiration dates for packaged items and never had an issue. Some Indian stores have burned me in the past. Fast and friendly check out every time. I have to try the food one of these days. It smells delicious, but I'm always in a hurry.
Dosa is very good like a South indian taste I like it..
Everything we had was mouthwatering good. Hands down my new favorite place for Indian Food. We did their Laxmi Sweets & Spices , which for the price and quality of food was definitely not bad at all. And this isn't some third rate, fly swarming, dried-up food buffet either; everything was cook/prepared fresh and made with love. Even the waiters were all very polite and made sure everything was okay. Definitely returning.
My family has been ordering their food for almost 20 years now and it's the place I look forward to eating from when I come back to the area to visit. The staff is friendly, the tikka masala, navratan korma, palak paneer, and tandoori chicken are my all-time favorites. Everything here is delicious and consistently amazing.
