This restaurant is amazing! The architecture is elegant and old world. It's really dramatic. The lighting is perfect, and the red arches really bring it over the top, in a brilliant way. The food is out of this world, and the wine list is impressive. Kyle was out server and he was so informative and helpful. Super-friendly. He picked out the perfect wine for us. I would love to go back there again soon.

Love this place. The service is always amazing and the food is delicious. I love their gnocchi. The restaurant is conveniently located within the casino and has a wonderful atmosphere. We've eaten here twice: once as a party of four seated in a private side room and once as a party of two seated at the bar. The only odd thing was that my partner ordered an old fashioned and the bartender made it incorrectly. This may not be the type of place where you can order an off-menu item but their food is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend!

Fine time at Ballos. Food was very good. Was a bit surprised to see that dinners are entrees only. Chicken Parm... is just that, Chicken Parm. No pasta, no veg choice, just Chicken Parm. It was VERY good, but come on. For the price, it would not break them to add some pasta. Also, they do not put bread on the table. I then found out that you have to ask.... for bread at an Italian restaurant!? SMH Between all the times the waitress came by and the servers who filled the "bottled" water we purchased, no one realized we had no bread? Once again, great food and drinks, but the little things could have made the meal perfect.

AMAZING experience! I went here for my birthday dinner and although not revealing that it was my birthday, my guest and I received the best food and service. Apps and entrees came out promptly And everything was seasoned and prepared beautifully. I had the Gnocchi with black truffle and my guest had the Chicken parmigiana. The Gnocchi were like pillows, very fresh and not dense, which sometimes happens, served with an amazing cream sauce and the chicken parmigiana was crispy and delightful. Both dishes came out steaming hot, which was amazing. If I visit Mohegan Sun again I will definitely be back.

My fine dining experience is limited, however, we had a great evening at Ballo Italian. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing despite being in casino. Low lighting does a great job at separating you from the rest of Mohegan Sun. Though this prevented me from being able to take any photos without drawing attention to myself with a flash, I also appreciated that caveat in a way. The servers are the best part of this experience as they are extremely attentive and professional. The food was delicious (but yes, we did have to ask for bread & butter) and the drinks didn’t taste heavy-handed but one or two felt like enough. No one at the table had any complaints. Would recommend to anyone.

This is a really good place for dinner and/or a drink. Really good atmosphere and you don’t feel like you’re in a casino. It’s pretty big… there’s both restaurant seating and bar seating. The bar is deep enough that it’s also a good area to eat. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is always really good. You can walk in for a table but it gets crowded if there’s an event going on (concerts, basketball games etc) so make a reservation if possible.

The atmosphere and service was fantastic. If you can do the cheese wheel at your table, do it! The wine was great. The food was good. Our waiter couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating.

Had dinner reservations here last Saturday night before the Kane Brown concert and we were all seated upon arrival after checking in with the hostess. The atmosphere was romantic with dimmed lighting. The soaring arches and high ceilings with the old world touch made me feel like I was in Italy, the ambiance was perfect. I had The Empress's New Clothes (Gin cocktail) that was juicy, not dry and very good (had two). For appetizers I tried the meatballs and the burrata plate. For my entree I ordered one of the featured specials but did feel for the price $55+ it wasn't worth it. It was lacking in quantity and weight of seafood. It was one split tail lobster that had just about one tablespoon of lobster meat and the shrimp was miniature. The other meat and salmon entrees at the table looked good but I would get something else next time for sure. My meal was flavorful because of the pasta and cream sauce but didn't deliver that "special" feeling of ordering a seafood based dish. Our server Darrien was really great and attentive to dietary restrictions at the table. I enjoyed the overall experience.

Brandon was an incredible waiter, ask for him if you decide to go. Food was excellent......salmon and filet was awesome.

Had a group outing in one of their private rooms. While the atmosphere and the servers were great, the food has dropped off from previous visits. Had a shrimp dish with fava beans which was super spicy, and I typically like spice, but the shrimp had no flavor at all.

(Last visited 2/5/2022.) My girlfriend's kid is a true Italian at heart. They love pasta and all things cheesy. They also recently told me that they wanted to try one of those pastas in which they cook it up in the wheel of Parmesan cheese. After some research I found out that Ballo is one of the only restaurants in Connecticut that will serve this dish! So we are here for their birthday and here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: This place is inside the Mohegan Sun casino so parking is absolutely free inside one of their structures, but it'll be a long walk to the restaurant. The restaurant is SUPER open with majorly high ceilings, yet still full of amazing décor, energy and life. I loved how this place made me feel immersed in a high-class, authentic, Italian restaurant. Service: I can't remember exactly who took care of me, but service did lack a bit. We often found ourselves waiting on water or waiting on our drinks a bit. The restaurant was busy and it is "post-COVID" so I guess we just have to accept that that's the way things are for now. Food: I came here for the Parmesan Cheese Pasta and it was delicious, but I was not blown away. I will honestly say that my expectations were just unrealistic. Lol. I was imagining something ridiculously cheesy, melty and gooey, but that's not what it's about at all. It's about the natural flavors of the cheese engulfing the tender pasta as it's cooked and set on fire right at your table! I high encourage you to try it out if you're ever here, but you'll definitely want more food after because the portion is rather small. Value: It's expensive here. Everything is. It's a restaurant inside the Mohegan Sun so yeah, bring the big buck. Umm... I've tried it and I can say that I enjoyed myself, but this isn't a place I'd be itching to come back to unless someone else wanted to come. That's the conclusion.

We tried this Italian Restaurant cause a member of the hotel staff recommended it for excellent authentic Italian food. Wife and I enjoyed garlic bread and Ballo's meatballs for an appetizer. We also enjoyed Chicken Francese and Chicken Parm for dinner. Everything was cooked to perfection. The staff was very professional and courteous. We will be eating here more often when visiting The Mohegan Sun.

Came here on a Saturday in December for a romantic dinner. It was late and pretty quiet. Our server was outstanding! Top Notch! Food and drinks were amazing! I ordered the Burrata Special and the Chicken Francese. Very sexy and romantic spot tucked away in the Casino. Makes you feel like you're in a sexy cafe in Italy. ❤🍷 Will definitely go back!

I love the food here. I was greeted by Kaci, the manager. We sat up front, and there was a lively crowd at the bar cheering on the football game. Bread and a nice garlic bread appetizer came over. Our server had a restaurant week menu. I did that menu with salad, entree, and 2 canollis. The chicken was fork cutting tender and loved the veggies. The best part is always dessert! These are the best canolis. Today, I was greeted by Pedro. He did an excellent job explaining the specials. The swordfish was outstanding, and they made one dairy free for Mom. Pedro went the extra mile and brought me a canolli and an extra biscotti with our coffee and tea. Exception service today and well worth the money.
