I’ve frequented this bakery since their East Urbana days! Their cakes and treats are fantastic—especially the fruit tart. Unfortunately, there’s one staff member with a less-than-friendly demeanor. He comes across as rude and lacks good customer service. On the bright side, another employee was exceptionally kind. Despite the mixed experience, I’ll keep coming back for the cakes. If the unfriendly staff member doesn’t improve, though, I might reconsider.
We ordered a customized birthday cake. They made exactly what we wanted. Really happy with their work.
My go-to place for getting birthday cakes for friends. They're quick about it and even write messages for free. Pricing can be a little hefty, it was $45 for a medium-sized caked.
Perfect for your sweeth tooth!
Nice clean place. I ordered a Tiramisu and Chocolate mousse cake and both of them were amazing! Would definitely go again when I visit Urbana!
This place is so good and everything’s really very cheap!!
The most delicious cakes in town! I've had a few different flavors for a variety of celebrations, and each one has been absolutely delicious (tiramisu and chocolate especially).
Got two lattes. Service was very fast and friendly. Drinks were well made. Food looked great will need to return.
I love rick's so much. Everything here is so fresh and tasty. Definitely one of the best bakeries in town for macaroons, cakes, cheesecakes, etc.
Ordered a strawberry shortcake for a friend’s birthday. Beautiful presentation and tasted amazing. Would definitely order again.
Some tasty treats for breakfast lunch or anytime. Coconut macarons as well as calzone and quiche. Small area to sit
Rick’s is a killer spot in Urbana for anything from pastries to empanadas to fresh bread and mousses. My girl and I grabbed an assortment to try for only $16 and everything was a hit. The coffee was cheap and good, the tamales and croissants came out fresh and the strawberry mousse was 👌. The staff is friendly too, we’ll definitely be coming back!
You can get a whole tiramisu cake here and sourdough but also tamales and fancy clocks. Slaps.
Great food and very affordable prices! Their soup special for only $5 is value town. A large cup with 3 slices of baguette bread. Also their burritos are fabulous and large for only $8. They even have lattes! Love this place!
Amazing churros, breads and customer service. Will go again
Kept hearing about this place from different people. Finally made my way over (it's kind of out of the way - I'd never have found it myself!) and was not disappointed. I had gone with someone and we thought we'd get two pastries to share (I chose a palmier because they looked irresistible, and he chose a bear claw). We spent a bit looking around and chatting with the woman working the counter. After listening to us deliberate, she actually threw an apple turnover in to the bag because she thought we'd like it. We liked all of them.
I've tried their brownie bread, too (a co-worker brought some leftovers in). Even not fresh it was dangerously good.
Haven't tried any of their breads, but I look forward to trying some this year when they come to the market.
I just wish they weren't so far away.
My first visit was to get a quick bite while waiting for a bus. Been back many times since. I suggest the ham and cheese croissant. I've never sat and ate here but have many times detoured my bus trip just to stop here for breakfast
We recently ordered a custom birthday cake from this bakery and the product was beyond expectations. The cake was very delicious. Would definitely recommend this bakery to anyone looking for quality tasting cakes!!
