Good all around experience. Good service and food was generally quite good. The Escargot was slightly disappointing but the cheese fondue hit the spot after a long day of skiing. Another plus was the child friendliness of the restaurant.

We ordered a fondue and a dark chocolate fondue as a dessert, and we really enjoyed them. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Dining at the Swiss Chalet is an annual tradition on our Vail ski trips. The warmth and authenticity of the dining experience makes you feel at home on a cold night after skiing. We received truly world class service from our server, Sigi. She gave us top recommendations on how to pace our meal and get every bit of flavor that the Swiss Chalet offers. Needless to say, we expect our tradition to continue for years to come.

We had a lovely meal here. The service was kind and excellent. We tried some salads and the Alpler fondue. It was all wonderful. Delicious bread and veggies. We truly enjoyed the baby carrots in the fondue...a first. There is also an extensive wine and cocktail list. The Flora Dora cocktail was amazing! The place is expensive but it was a great meal in a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Really really loved this place. So much so that my beloved bride wanted to go back for all our meals to enjoy fondue. The service was great and everything was delicious.
To start we had the french onion soup which had crispy onions on top with heaps on cheese inside.
We ordered the Alper Fondue on the advice of our server. We also added sides of jalapeno & chili flakes, apple & pear, and, beef medallions. If you like heat recommend adding the chili flakes into the fondue.
We finished up with the chocolate fondue and opted for a swirl of the dark & nutella. Amazing !!

This is another one of our favorite restaurants in Vail located in the Sonnenalp. Along with Ludwig's also located in the hotel, these are two of the best restaurants in Vail. You go to the Swiss Chalet for the fondue!
