Short Version: Family-owned, classic style diner in a clean, modern atmosphere with quality food.
Long Version: The aesthetic when you walk in is simple, but gives you the feel of high-class dining (Their front exterior gives the same feel). They were very busy, but my aunt and I were greeted warmly and sat immediately. Very clean restaurant, attentive service. We ordered the wheat pancakes, challah french toast, bacon, and sausage (I loved that the sausage was a real split link). It was a wonderful Sunday outing <3

Vivi works super hard to ensure you are cared for, serviced well and more than satisfied with your food.

Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The salad dressing that comes with the Greek salad is amazing!!!! Food has great quality and everything was fresh! I will definitely be back!

Super friendly staff, spacious ambiance, festive deco, and most importantly - delicious food! Had the chicken francese over linguine with pistachio ice cream for dessert. Will definitely be returning!

I was browsing Grubhub to place an order at this restaurant & called to ask about a special request not on the menu. The lady was professional & stated that the restaurant offered delivery services as well. I placed the order with the restaurant directly & was grateful I did. All the food tasted great & was packaged nicely. The delivery person was nice also informed me that I was out of their delivery area, to which I informed him that the lady said I could place it over the phone & it would be delivered. My order total was close to $100.
I’ll definitely use Grubhub to reorder & I may even visit this establishment as everything was great! A big thank you to the restaurant for fulfilling my order.
Omg what a great place for brunch! First off, it's huge! So there really wasn't a wait. Secondly the servers were so friendly and the menu is also HUGE! SO MANY OPTIONS! I opted for the chicken and waffles and my fiancé had the french toast will eggs. All delicious. I also had a mimosa which was well made. Great portions! Will def re visit.

Very fast and friendly service, the food was amazing and one of the only times I've gone to a diner with free coffee refills and the coffee doesn't taste like water.
The serving sizes were large and well worth their price and I'm so sad that I found this gem of a restaurant a week before moving away from valley stream.
If you're looking for a lovely place for breakfast/brunch look no further!
I've yet to try their lunch/dinner but I had their Quiche as well as their corned beef hash and Caesar salad. Boyfriend had pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Very yummy 10/10 would go again.
Also watching the connection that the waitresses had with some of the customers was so wholesome it made my heart explode.
Just hearing one of the servers as she saw a regular and looks at him and goes "Having the usual?"
Another was talking to an elderly couple that were on a date and treating them with so much kindness and respect. You don't see that kind of genuine kindness a lot anymore.
Amazing that this place has such great relationships with their restaurant goers.

The organic veggie’s are extremely healthy, seasoned & delicious! I appreciate the excess spinach, and the portion size. I’ll return with friend’s again; thank you, and have a blessed day.
Needed a place for breakfast and this place came up on the list. At 1st, I was not sure about it since it seemed empty from the outside. The facade of the restaurant is very nice. Upon entering, was greeted by the manager or owner with a slight accent. What a nice guy!!!! Also, was amazed how almost full the place was. You would not even suspect the amount of families eating inside based on the quietness of outside. As we were shown to our booth, all you can see with the waitresses were plates of all forms of eggs, pancakes and waffles; all looking good. The service is fast and furious. If you are hungry, they will have your plate ready in a matter of minutes. The coffee is fresh, the orange juice is plentiful and fresh. What is the final point is again the guy up front. As you see him seating people, cleaning tables, getting to go orders ready with so much energy and with a huge smile on his face.
This place has been here since 1961.

Their eggs benedict and omelettes are excellent. As well as the sea bass, French onion soups and salads!
The waitresa was professional yet friendy and had extensive knowledge of the flavors of foods on the menu. Helped us get exactly what we wanted and offered great suggestions as to what we would enjoy.

Personally, I do not like diners, I think they’re over priced, BUT ... THIS IS THE ONLY DINER I WILL EVER EAT AT!! The food, prices, and staff are amazing!

My mom ordered the Oceanside burger: Swiss cheese, onions and mushrooms, french fries and side of onion rings. My dad got the tuna sandwich.

Always a great experience when I dine at Mitchell's. The staff is always a pleasure to encounter. This time I brought my mom & daughter and they enjoyed their meals as well.

Mitchell's didn't seem so welcoming at first. Seems like the owner maybe who directed us to the table. Their menu was 5 pages long so there were much to choose from. The busboy didn't seem to happy we were there and the waitress didn't have the best 1st impression till a little later where she was able to give us her input and joked around with us. We ordered the buffalo wings and when it came out it was wing dings didn't have the buffalo sauce. Butttt they were good. The waitress was able to help guide us on what to get and what not to order since it was late and one of the cooks was on their way home (which we were SUPER thankful for). My husband and father got valley stream burgers, I got the burger melt and mother got a seafood platter. Everything was delicious!!! My husband and father got bacon on their burger which they added a plentiful amount. My husband was in looove. My mom was satisfied and so was I. Great place to eat!
Nice , clean restaurant. The pancakes was served with fresh sliced strawberries. Although my waiter was personable, he could have been more attentive. There's nothing worst than being served your meal and your waiter becomes MIA. Most importantly, my breakfast was delicious and fresh.
