Love this place! I've been searching for a place that roasts it's own beans and finally found it! The atmosphere is so relaxing, incredibly close to home, and the staff is top notch. Love cold brew and that I have the option to take some home too. Clean tasting.
And really, the coffee is such a great flavor that there is hardly a need for sugar or cream. How coffee should taste.
By far the best coffee shop in VA Beach!! Every drink is perfect every time, other places tend to be inconsistent. I bit out of the way for me but oh so worth it! And the staff of amazing and friendly!

I am finally writing a review even though I visit here often. Coming from amazing coffee country in the Pacific Northwest, Three Ships meets and exceeds my standards of delight when it comes to a well brewed pour over or an amazingly roasted quick cup. If your palate can take it, I suggest drinking their delicious coffee black. Brad is passionate, knowledgeable about beans, and very personable - stop by and say hi to him! And don't forget to bring a bag home or share with friends (as I like to do). Any and all of them are great.
I am married to an incredible coffee snob, and by osmosis, my taste in coffee has evolved from Starbucks (which I use for the bathroom only now) to boutique, artisanal, locally roasted coffee. Did I mention we are originally from NYC? Anyway, all to say, I was personally blown away by the exceptional Rwandan Aero-press I had yesterday - best coffee I have had in a really long time - and we are constantly seeking out the best coffee there is. Loved, loved, loved the GF Oats bowl; the biscuits, the avocado toast. We went back this morning as we left VB and had another pour-over, the oats, the nutella stuffed home-made pop tart, biscuits, a chocolate chip cookie, and my hubby also got a fantastic espresso. Our son had his first latte with agave yesterday and had it straight today - no need, "so delicious as is" - he's 10. Thanks so much guys! Keep up the great work.

We absolutely love the coffee here my fiance is obsessed with the cold brew he trys it all over but three ships is by far the best!!! And the hand pies are delish!! everyone is always so friendly such a good place to stop in and enjoy!!!

This place does simple coffee right. The quality is what you'd expect from a place that prides itself on making a "perfectly complex cup of coffee". That's exactly what you get. If you can appreciate a good cup of coffee, I'd highly recommend giving this place a try. If you're looking for a 62oz mocha latte with caramel drip and 12 shots of sweetener, you will not be happy here. Save the $6 bucks and go to Starbucks. They have one size here, and that's it. Not trying to be demeaning, but the coffee is what makes this place shine, not all the stuff they put in the cup. You'll be disappointed if you're not in it for the coffee.

The latte was awesome. Great balance and favor. It was a top notch cup.
When I ordered the pop tart, I found out was filled with Nutella/hazelnut. I hate hazelnut, but I had already mentally committed to trying the pop tart, so I sent it anyway. Surprisingly, it was awesome. I would have preferred to have it toasted (not sure if they can do that, in fairness, I didn't ask), but even so it was pretty legit.
The location is in a lower key spot off the strip, so it's a little more tame, which is nice. There is plenty of room outdoors to sit as well if that's your goal. Inside is spacious, with a fair amount of seating, and bar seating by the front window and around the service area.
Prices are on par with all the other coffee joints in town.
Service was prompt and the cashier was courteous. It wasn't crazy busy and my coffee came out in under 5 minutes.
If you're looking for a legit cup of coffee, this place delivers.
Uniquely delicious! I researched popular coffee cafe's while visiting Virginia Beach, Three Ships Coffee Roasters was Top 3 on my list. I tried the seasonal Peach Pungo Latte and it was uniquely delicious. The peach syrup was made fresh it has the perfect natural sweetness of peaches.
The staff were so friendly and pleasantly kind as we had asked quite a few questions about their coffee and drink recommendations. The coffee house had a cozy atmosphere, and the landscape was whimsical with its plants and garden animals.
My absolute favorite coffee place when I come to VB. It’s well-attended but there are still plenty of seating options, the staff are SO so sweet, and of course everything is delicious. Don’t miss their biscuits - absolutely to die for. Also, side note, their Halloween decorations are so much fun!
The Cortado, The Survivor, Cheese on Bread and pastries. Everything was so delicious. They have their own housemade milk and chocolate syrup for mocha. Everything was perfect and we will stop by again !
This is our go to local coffee shop at the beach. The coffee is great. (They don’t have heavy cream which is disappointing). But they have high quality drink options. The merch is fun and the vibe is good! We go here ourselves and bring out of town friends and family, they always love it too!
I discovered this coffee shop in Virginia Beach a number of years ago. stopped at their newest location in Norfolk in 2022, and again this year in 2023 while visiting. I usually get the same thing. A landlubber cold brew, and the Becky sandwich. Both are fantastic. I think I prefer them more rustic ambience of the original location in Virginia Beach, but the Norfolk location is also very nice. A little bit more sleek and modern. I would definitely recommend.

This coffee shop has everything you need to start your day with a smile. For those who love a cold brew, the land lubber is a favorite that never disappoints. If you're feeling tired and need a little extra boost, the espresso is the perfect pick-me-up! For a more balanced and sweeter taste, I highly recommend the cappuccino…. it truly is the perfect cup. And don't worry if you don’t like coffee, they got you covered with pastries and other goodies. Also if you prefer vegan options, they have a few to choose from. The pastries are always fresh and delicious, making this shop a good place to indulge in a treat or two. Grab a cup of Joe and take a Sandy stroll on the beach or enjoy the laid back atmosphere at the shop. Either way it’s the perfect place for locals and tourist to get quality coffee and snacks!
Great coffee shop away from the main bustle. The coffee is excellent. A very good cup. For some it might seem pricey, but you get the quality you paid for. Also the chocolate chip cookie is very good.

I got an iced Vanilla latte and their in house made blueberry lemon muffin, very delicious!
What I would like are more flavor options, they appear to only have about three. Vanilla, Apple and Sweet Potato.

Came here with my boyfriend last Sunday and we had a great time. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed, the staff is super nice and the coffee is great. I used to work as a barista in Europe so I was glad to see people know their way with coffee here too, I will definitely come back :)
