This Chinese restaurant is a Hidden Gem in VB!
Family own business, the Chinese couple is very friendly. Plenty of parking spot on the front. They do have limited tables inside the restaurant.
Get their Fish Rice Bowl! (Picture) You can chose spicy or regular sauce, marinated fry fish fillet and vegetables. I used to get addicted to it and went every single day for a week!
Wow, a hidden gem. Needed a quickish bit and had a taste for Chinese. Well the food was great. Plenty of happy grunts around the table. I had orange chicken and the wife had ramen stir fry both from the chef special. The orange chicken was fantastic and much more than a meal. Also had the shrimp shaimu (sp) and it also was great. So if in London Bridge area make sure to stop in. Very friendly people and great food. Not much to look at outside but you need to go. You'll be happy you did.
Hearty and plentiful.
I ordered the duck ramen and curry fishballs while my wife went with the typical beef broccoli. The duck ramen was definitely plenty enough to make you feel full. It is served with broccoli, egg, cilantro, and green onions. The broth was light but tasteful. The broccoli was not overcooked nor was it undercooked. The beef was cooked perfectly and the sauce covered the dish just enough. The curry fishballs were amazing!
As for the atmosphere, this is a little mom and pop shop that reminds me of a dainty and humble Asian food place. Don't expect any small talks at all. You get served your food and they attend to you if you ask them for extra things like utensils or whatnot.
Overall, I definitely would try the other dishes here again!
Didn't plan to come here, but stumpled upon it when I missed my turn. Decided to give it a try. Ordered the spicy beed ramen, which was so flavorful and fresh. Exactly what I needed to round out my day.
Clean dining room, clean bathroom, wonderful ambiance and nice music. The waitress was pretty attentive too. Will try other items my next visit for sure. Everything looked so good.
Wontons were good!! And Initially I didn’t like my shrimp and broccoli because the sauce was on the sweet side. The lady working there worked with me to figure out what taste was I was looking for. Eventually she recommended me to try the sauce from the rice bowl (spicy) on the shrimp and broccoli. I was very very very happy with the change. My food was yummy!!
I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It was not traditional Japanese ramen, but delicious non the less. The duck ramen soup was delicious!! It was light yet flavorful like all the dishes we had (Gyoza, Beef Curry, and Wonton soup). The General Tso's chicken was amazing too! The sauce seemed to be home made. I can't wait to return to this hidden gem!
This was a pleasant surprise. I was not expecting the quality of food and taste. My family members had ramen dishes, and i had the rice bowl, which was awesome.
It is definitely not the traditional fatty, porky, thicker bone based ramen broth, but the bowl was creative and tasty. The dumplings and wontons in hot oil, was just ok.
Don't be fooled by the location or the exterior of the building, we had great service and great food. Highly recommended.
Better than Noodle Man!
I’ve been going here since the pandemic started and this place does hand pulled homemade noodles justice! Try the spicy beef ramen noodle soup….its flavorful, not too much chili oil, spicy, and delicious! Comes with an egg and bok choy too for a balanced meal. I love that the noodles are bouncy yet slightly chewy because they’re handmade, which makes a big difference. Personally I find Noodle Man to be overrated, they cater more to non Asian taste palettes because their broth is so bland! Lol
This place is that hidden gem, so good. Definitely stop by if you want authentic, tasty Chinese food. Honestly this might be one of 3 actually authentic Chinese restaurants in the entire city of Virginia Beach! Come by and try for yourself. :)
We went in a whim since we live fairly close. I chose the shrimp ramen soup and hubby had duck ramen soup. I cannot remember exactly what the fresh wonton w chicken in was called but it was super tasty. Everything was very good esp w the handmade, fresh noodles. Our kid had a side of just noodles, crispy shrimp, and edamame. All of it was delicious. We will definitely frequent here. Fast, spot on service.
This place is nice and quiet, I had shrimp stir fry and my guy had the duck ramen. Nice size portions and atmosphere won me over. Food was hot and delicious
This restaurant is a hidden gem. I ordered a spicy beef ramen and the broth was on point. It seems like they make their own noodles which is very unique. The beef and eggs tasted better than other Japanese ramen restaurant's I've been before. Definitely need more recognition
Absolutely fantastic... Spring rolls full of flavor...crab wontons outstanding the duck sauce is even great. Husband had fried rice it was the best...now the ramon was the best i ever had and that bowl was jam packed with yumminess.. Its a hole in the wall dont let the older center its in scare you...the inside is clean decorated and inviting...its small but nice. Travelers give them a chance take the 4 mile drive from the beach rip off places.
Everything about this ramen house is amazing!
Appetizers: Fried calamari, cooked perfectly tender and crisp
Gyoza, delicate flavor but satisfying
Wonton in chili oil, perfect heat with great flavor
Ramen: I had the duck ramen, spicy. Flavorful solid broth. Chewy slurpable handmade noodles. Fatty tender slices of duck. And the obligatory marinated egg...I actually didn't dislike(which is saying a lot given I hate hard boiled eggs)
My girlfriend got the duck, not spicy. Her daughter got the spicy beef and let us try, the beef was meltingly tender.
If you like ramen then get here immediately and return as soon as possible!
Everything was great, the food was amazing, the service was great, our appetizers and food came out so fast and it was delicious. Our server was great, she was attentive and kind. One of the best wontons in chili oil I’ve had, and it was very cheap.
I'm pleasantly surprised to find this noodle restaurant in Virginia. The broth is as good as Lan Noodle in Arcadia, CA, which is about as authentic as the flavor can get for Lanzhou noodles here in the States. Although I wasn't expecting the egg and the Chinese cabbage, it doesn't break the dish. Normally you would have sliced white turnips instead. The beef is cooked differently than traditional but still very tender and flavorful. I recommend to get it without chili, the chili is too strong and will mask the beef broth flavor.
The beef skewer comes with a sour sauce, not that it's bad but I didn't like it. The chicken skewer is excellent though.
Delicious!! You have to stop here. The service is great and fast. Food is worth the price, which is very reasonable. The stir fry ramen is wonderful.
