This place surprised me. I thought it was a coffee shop with a few snacks or breakfast sandwiches. They have a surprisingly large menu and each thing we ordered was amazing quality and tasted delicious. Their special sauces on their breakfast bowls stand out and packed with flavor. Great staff, great vibes. They had some live music on a Saturday morning. This place can get busy.
Came here on Tuesday with my boyfriend for some coffee and we're delighted at the chill atmosphere and the sweet barista :) the coffee was good and I was quite happy that the cappuccino was bigger than the usual cup and I enjoyed seeing some people even came to study, I think that speaks volumes about a cafés atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place for a coffee date or a study session:)
American Brew is one of our favorite local spots! Whether for a quick muffin and cold brew or getting work done with the Breakfast Burrito, you can't go wrong with the food options! Liz and the rest of the team are always friendly, welcoming, and professional even when things are busy. If you're looking for a pre-beach bite, morning pick me up, or place to enjoy some brunch, stop on by!
Order was taken quickly & coffee came out very fast &was great. Food took quite a long time for as few people were in the place. (2 weeks after labor day on a Tuesday at 9 am.) Burritos were DELICIOUS, house sauce should be mandatory. If you're looking to hangout and to respond to work e mails or just ease into your day, this is your place. If you're in a rush for coffee & breakfast, go elsewhere.
The perfect spot to meet a friend for lunch, do some work, or just enjoy a great cup of coffee! Highly recommend
What a well executed place! Coffee, snacks and a massive whiskey selection?? Pro tip order an almond latte with a splash of caramel and get a screwball (peanut butter infused whiskey) shot and mix that all together. Interior is very chill great place to post up and get some work done.

The drinks are delicious and it's a wonderful place to hang out. The staff are just as nice as they can be but I think they must be terribly short staffed because it takes absolutely forever to get your drink. Despite this, I will continue to go because it is a lovely little Hangout.
Been meaning to try this place for awhile. Great place for breakfast. The atmosphere is so nice, the service was great, the breakfast sandwich I had was amazing. Going back for sure

This was such a cool place to get breakfast at! There was live music, service was really good and friendly, food came out fast, and just the overall environment was very comfortable and homely.
This place is an EXCEPTIONAL experience! It is a hobby of mine to explore new coffee shops. I have many favorites, but this definitely just set the bar a little higher! The entire vibe of the place is awesome! The young lady who helped me, I wish I got her name, long, dark hair, very sweet and outstanding customer service! She immediately welcomed me and asked if I had ever been before, she then walked me through the menu setup and offerings, and I asked for some recommendations of her favorites. I chose a Cinnamon & Honey Latte and breakfast burrito and thoroughly enjoyed both! I would dare say it was The Best Latte I've ever had. I was literally sad when my cup was empty, lol. Go check out this gem, you will want to return again and again! Thank you for such a wonderful experience on my first visit to Virginia Beach!
Definitely earned my updated 5 star review this time. Maybe it's the more less crowded, more laid back day but I feel that there's more attention paid to the details, less rushed to order, and maybe seemingly more selections. I ordered to go: steak quesadilla and power bowl with chicken, quinoa and hummus. The latter was yummy, 5 stars. The quesadilla is a 4, slightly more oily to my liking.
Lady at the register was not the most friendly. Lots of coffee options. More room to sit inside and outside than number of spots to park. Tried the fat Joe and liked it. Coffee has a good flavor to it.
Wasn't a fan of the iced latte or green smoothie but the food was great! The vibe is very cool and they have outdoor seating which is dog friendly but difficult to access with a stroller.
Great, cozy atmosphere and location, solid coffee, and delicious bites. I am definitely planning on coming back for the whiskey selection and brunch menu items.
