I got the ox tails and red velvet cake and it was delicious! The staff was very friendly and helpful in helping answer questions about dishes. I wish there was a dining in option since my friend and I came from out of town to visit but we had to take out and enjoy it elsewhere. Other than that, it was a great Caribbean restaurant in the Hampton Roads area.
This was our Friday night dinner. I had jerk chicken, rice and beans, and cabbage. The chicken was juice and had a sweet and spicy flavoring. The rice and beans were very good with the jerk sauce on them. However, the cabbage was a little too sweet to me. I like the fact that it had carrots and pieces of corn in it. My husband had the jerk chicken, collard greens, and Mac n cheese. He really enjoyed the chicken. He did not like the collards. He was hoping for more spices to it, but it was just too sweet. The Mac n cheese was on point. We also ordered the fried shrimp meal. It normally comes with fries, but they didn't have them. Which was great because I want rice for our daughter. In all, we will definitely try this place again!
By far the best Jamaican I've ever had. Randomly stopped by on a lunch break and the food was phenomenal. Service can be a slow, as there was only one guy working, but at the time of this review they were hiring.
SO FLAVORFUL!!!! It is my first time here & i wish i would have found this place sooner! I got the jerk chicken, beef patty, mac, & yams! Everything was absolutely amazing! I will be back!!! Also that crack tea is crazy good!
I already knew it was gonna be good when I drove up to the place and there was an open air grill with jerk chicken on it. The food was so flavorful and well seasoned. Everything was good: The cabbage had a slightly sweet taste that I enjoyed. The rice and beans were tasty alone but mixed with the oxtail gravy it was super delicious. Lastly, was the oxtail... Heavenly. I've eaten from numerous Jamaican spots in different states and this is by far The Best! 👌🏽 🤌🏼

I was in the mood for some caribbean food and just decided to come here on a whim. I was chatting it up with the lady at the register and the owner; they have such good hospitality! So friendly and funny but the food was a plus. I told the owner i’d give him a honest review and he did not disappoint. The Jerk chicken had a sweet & savory flavor that i can still taste. I absolutely will be going back to this spot. 15/10!
Walked in and was immediately met by the owner and his wife, had an amazing conversation he even showed me his BBQ pit. Food was perfect, and the service was exceptional. I WILL BE BACK, check out their lunch specials too great price for the amount of food you get .

Where do I start?! I called shortly before closing to ask if I could place a to go order and I was met with a warm friendly associate who took our order with time and invited us to drive safely as they would be there cleaning up.
The warm customer service continued as we were invited to sample their delicious sides… the best cabbage!! My mother says the oxtails are the best she’s had and we oxtails fairly often. This is 5 out 5 for sure!! We drove about 15+ miles and it was worth it.
Oh… we ordered dessert. Haven’t tried it yet. I bet it’s delicious.
First of all the food is AMAZING 🤩! We ordered the Ox Tails and the White Fish special they both were very flavorful and seasoned to perfection. The Ox Tails are top-notch! Mac N Cheese, yellow rice and Cole slaw was perfect ✨ One of the best Caribbean restaurants I’ve been to, hands down! We’ll definitely be revisiting soon in the future! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This food was amazing! I had the curry goat peas and rice with fried plantains. If you’re looking for authentic Caribbean food this place is it. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. We recommend this place to everyone. You won’t regret it.
Owners are so nice, they even walked our food to our car and had a wonderful conversation about their background and the love of their business. Food was packed with flavor and large portions!! So dang good!! If you have not tried, go give them some love, I guarantee your stomach will thank you!! Best jerk chicken, cabbage and collards around!!

Owner is a whole vibe! Great person, always pleasant, friendly, and polite when I visit his establishment. Service is top tier, however, since the food is high demand, beware of a small wait. Large serving size for the prices. And great cabbage! I’d definitely visit this establishment again!

Before I get to the food. I need to first brag about how friendly Dexter was to me. I came early because my Husband and I were headed back to Richmond, VA. The door was locked but he caught me before I got into my car. We chatted a few while he cooked all that delicious food. We got jerk chicken, cabbage, and red beans and rice. The food was amazing! We both enjoyed our plates. The portions on both were so big we saved some for dinner. Such great customer service from the beginning. Every bite was so flavorful and I'm not making this up. We will definitely be back for the Mac n Cheese plus more. Thank you for being such a kind hearted soul. Your food was made from the heart and we really enjoyed it. See you soon!!!
Found out about this place a few days ago and is now easily one of my favorite spots in VA. Hands down BEST jerk/ curry chicken ive ever had. Fall off the bone. Fresh plantains. And the aroma of the chicken being grilled outside will make your mouth water.. If there was a table nearby i would eat this right then and there. Excellent job Dexter. Youll see me again

LISTEN… whoever reads this review is in for an amazing treat! I am beyond satisfied! This was my first time visiting Jerrrk Time and they definitely did not disappoint me. Dexter and the staff were personable and inviting. As I looked at the menu they offered me a sample. As soon as they removed the pan cover I knew that’s what I wanted! The stewed chicken…😋 Y’all all I can say is SIMPLY AMAZING! The chicken was tender & cooked to perfection! The sauce was succulent and savory! OMG the cabbage… guys! the cabbage wasn’t like anything I’ve tasted before! My God… speechless. And I mean that in a great way! The rice and peas were amazing as well and seasoned quite nicely. I also added a side of Mac n cheese which had a awesome Caribbean smoked flavor. Of course I had to order my favorite…plantains. I love plantains!!! Then to top it off I purchased some “crack tea”, now that’s what I call sweet tea! After I finished eating I had to take a moment and call to applaud them on their fantastic restaurant, food & service! I told Dexter the only thing I’m upset about was the fact I didn’t have any leftovers! 🥺 He thanked us for visiting and said we’re welcomed anytime. This review isn’t enough to really tell you how wonderful our experience was so I dug in the trash to get my cleaned to-go box just to show you ALL I meant every word I said in this review!
BTW my son ordered the BBQ chicken w/rice and fries. My boyfriend ordered the sides platter. They both were equally as satisfied!
