They boast about wowing the customers with their dishes and it's true. I love their taco salad. Fresh ingredients in a generous portion. Very tasty with enough to take home for lunch the next day. I tried their cheeseburger salad and was another hit. Each of these salads weighs in about 2 lbs. Expect quantity and quality in your orders. The bottomless soft drinks is always a nice touch too. Comfort food in a cozy location is a winning combination. My only suggestion is offer more seasonal specials and offer coupons on line.
I've eaten at Black Bear Diner since it opened and have never been disappointed. While their breakfasts are legendary we had a wonderful experience and good food on Thanksgiving when we found ourselves making alternate plans to our traditional at home celebration. Our waitress was a delightful young lady who made it all the better with her stellar service, but sadly I don't recall her name, but the receipt shows 'Host AM' 5:30 PM Table 35/2 so if the Manager can identify her by this, extra kudos to her great service and wonderful personality!
I'm a New Yorker. We know from diners. Black Bear is as authentic as diners get.
Large, tasty, portions at an impossibly reasonable price. An ever full cuppa joe. Servers with moxie, poise, and talent--and it takes talent to be a good server. And jaunty music that brings back memories.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all good at Black Bear Diner. Desserts look hella tasty but I wouldn't know from personal experience. Even when I'm taking a doggie bag with leftovers home, I've stuffed to the gills so haven't tried their desserts.
Go to BBD. It doesn't seem to matter which one, you'll get bang for your buck and nice food in yer belly.
Good food. Loved the Pot Roast!! And the manager was kind enough to comp my dinner because of Veterans Day even though he did not have to! (The restaurant only offered the meal from 6am-2pm.) Very grateful!! Thank you Black Bear!!
Nice place and the waiter Kyle so fun and great service. Food was delicious 😋
Great food, large portions, friendly service. Restroom sink backed up, no paper towels, trash on floor,... First time eating here, overall have to say the food is enough to give it another chance.
I loved this place the coffee takes the most and the attention of the best, when I saw the waiter arrive with his coffee jug to fill my cup I really felt as if I was drinking coffee at my grandmother's house, that jug was spectacular it brought me Memories so I highly recommend it, very good restaurant

We got veggie omelette and Shasta scramble, considering the price it was good, Country red potatoes was the only thing that I did not like, The orange juice was very good.
Service was excellent. Large portions of food. Their Classic Eggs Benedict had ham (luncheon meat) instead of Canadian bacon or a ham slab. Sauce was good with just a hint of lemon. The California Omelet was a little pitiful. There was a tiny slice of avocado on the top, and not a lot of cheese. By the time we left it was packed. We arrived there a little after 8am.
Great atmosphere, customer service was lacking except during the checkout. Food was decent, despite the eggs tasting like liquid eggs 🥴🥴🥴. Other than that it’s your run of the mill breakfast place.
