This is a real gem. The ambiance was really nice and relaxing. The water jug was a nice touch. Service was very professional. Loved the crab cake.
Good food, nice vibe, really good service - what more could you ask for of a diner? Also; the fact that this branch is in the middle of Georgetown is the cherry on top of the ice cream.
Our friends who live in DC call this a DC staple and I have to agree. The woodwork on the interior is absolutely beautiful. The oysters were fresh and plump. I enjoyed the blackened fish sandwich, calamari, and mimosas. Great experience
The menu seems like lots of good choices and today I got the crab cakes. My guest got the chicken. Both were good and they accommodated allergies. The cost was $100 for two with drinks and dinner.

American saloon in Georgetown with happy hour at the bar from 3-7 Monday through Friday. Their artichoke and crab dip came warm and gooey (perfect) and their steak's portion was gigantic. Always crowded, but not much of a wait.
We had dinner at Clyde's. The service we received was excellent. It was busy, however, We were seated very quickly. We ordered steak, a cheeseburger, and a Reuben sandwich. All items came out as ordered. There were many college students in and out so I don't think I would choose this restaurant for a quiet evening. We were looking for good food, good service, at a reasonable price. That is exactly what we received.
The decor is quite interesting and this place is at walkable distance from some of the major hotels. I had a wonderful lamb chops dish followed by dolce de leche ice cream. Just great. Fortunately I didn't have to pick up the bill, so I can't really say how expensive it is.
Waiters were quite friendly too. All in all, a good experience!
Clyde's menu is standard amongst all of the DC Metro locations. That being said, if you go there for lunch or dinner, you're going to have a solid meal. Personally, I would recommend the mussels, calamari, turkey burger, grilled chicken salad and the cioppino. The wait staff is kind and attentive. The restaurant is split into two sections. If the weather is nice, get a table in the back and dine as the sunlight shines onto the courtyard area.
Loud but entertaining restaurant. Service is prompt, but busy. Ordered wing appetizers which were hot and crispy. Crab cakes were great and the sandwiches were delicious.

This place is away hopping on M Street. Hostess and wait staff are very good making the good pub food even more enjoyable! Reservations highly recommended.
Good brunch. I'm not much on runny eggs but had eggs Benedict and it was awesome!!! Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Will repeat the next time we are in DC.

Same owners as Old Ebbitt Grill with a slight different menu. The drink menus are the same so still solid there. Wait staff a bit more polished and friendly so it makes it a bit more of a local feel. I would get the tuna tower again and again. Don't skip the wings, everyone was getting them!

Amazing!! I had the Shepards pie and it tasted like my mom's home cooking. It is worth the wait.
We went for lunch and enjoyed the food. The prosciutto wrapped blue cheese peaces were phenomenal. Really absolutely delicious. The wings were thoroughly enjoyed by my brother, and the crab and artichoke dip was devoured quickly. The crab cake sandwich was good but nothing to write home about. The cubano sandwich, while not bad, was nothing special.

Good Burger...great beer, but.... Went this past weekend, place was jammed. Food was good, the beer was good (nice selection)....but do you think they could do something more interesting with the plates...plain white, and all scratched up at that! With such an "atmosphere-driven" place....would have thought they'd considered the serving pieces (plates) and what the guests use to eat with (forks, knives), ratehr than try to cut corners. A relatively small investment that leaves a major impression on guests.
Cozy Place. Typical Clyde's: the coziest atmosphere and menu that has some home runs as well as some duds.
Had the salmon salad today, it was awesome!! My honey had the steak salad & he loved it. Will eat here again. Great atmosphere and service.
I never want to eat here, BUT. For some reason, Ive been here multiple times. The service is always very nice- almost what you would expect from a fine dining restaurant, without the fine dining menu or prices. The servers are nice, the bartenders are quick, and you can usually expect a visit from a manager.
The turkey burgers are the best!!!

GREAT FOOD!. This is a great place to bring large groups, have had many a birthday here--they are so flexible and nice, willing to split up checks too! A favorite is the crab and artichoke dip... yumm!! And I wouldn't eat a burger ANYWHERE else in georgetown!
Glutten-free friendly. We need glutten-free friendly restaurants for one of our teenagers. This place was very accommodating. The server took note of several choices of sides and entrees from my daughter, took them back to the cook to find out which were glutten-free, then allowed her to mix-match to create a glutten-free meal. Perfect!
Great food and great service. Our waiter was terrific, he even recommended another restaurant with a different atmosphere by the same owner called Old Ebbits in the heart of DC. This restaurant was very family friendly. The other review was right on about the pot roast sandwich, it was outstanding!

Wonderful dinner / vibe / service. Without a reservation, Kayla was able to squeeze us in despite a fairly full house. Having just landed from cross country, the wine and split lobster roll was as good as it gets. Maria took care of us, such a class act. Didn’t make us feel rushed, expert service, personable, witty…we shared a story about us being seated at table 106 in years past which has to our relief been disbanded due to it proximity to the hostess booth and front entrance. Everything was perfect, to include the final martini after having relocated to the bar. Two bartenders were lively, happy, just a great atmosphere and the dirty martini was not too dirty, but dirty enough. Truly appreciated. Thank you, Maria, and thank you Clyde’s – until our next visit, keep up the outstanding work!
I stayed a month in Georgetown and chose for my final meal to be at Clyde’s. I wanted something classic, comforting , and filling. Thats EXACTLY what I got! The ambiance was great. I was eating alone and they have this room in the back that’s half booth and half table which was perfect. I ordered the crab cake sandwich which was amazing (I did encounter a couple of shells. I ended with a crème brûlée!! Amazing. It was buttery, eggy, perfectly scorched!
Parking is easy. But I recommend just using the parking garage off of Wisconsin and walking around the corner to Clyde’s. The prices were decent for DC. The portions were large. I didn’t get a cocktail but they had a lot that I would try next time. A great place for happy hour!

Love love love the vibe in this place … the service was impeccable and the food was tasty. Got the club sandwich and it was more than enough for one person … ended up taking half home. Worth the stop!
I've heard about Clyde's given that it owns Old Ebbit Grill; however, I'd recommend Old Ebbit Grill over Clyde's.
While they have similar menus, the quality of the food felt lacking. Specifically comparing the salmon at both restaurants, I'd recommend Old Ebbit Grill.
The ambiance is much louder and while there is plenty of decor, the seating is crowded without the same comfort as their partner restaurant provides.
Service is good as expected, but I found the rest of the experience slightly lacking.
It's a very iconic restaurant with a beautiful and cosy interior, but be warned that it's basically a tin of sardines in there. There was a 45 minute waitlist, but we were lucky to even be able to get a spot. I had the Clyde's classic burger with caramelised onions. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had, however, it needed some more onions, and all the staff are accommodating and kind.
Terrific atmosphere and excellent customer service! Our server was so friendly and attentive. The Tommy Melt was delicious! Great drink menu with an extensive selection of beer, wine, and liquor...including seltzers. As an out of towner, I appreciated the choice of local beers and seltzers. If we're ever back in Georgetown, I'd definitely go back!
Much bigger inside than it looks outside. Great crab cake. Catfish: nice cook, but mired in overly salty sauce. Shrimp grits decent. Desserts a bit heavy handed, but good flavors.
There was a large party of us and our table was in an awkward place but we made the most of it. Our server was excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was great. The crab dip to start was especially good and despite a lot of bones, the trout was good too.
The ladies toilets were atrocious
Very crowded during Thanksgiving, but the waitress at the bar is very nice. Ordered a well-done steak while it seems to be only medium-well. Not too bad though.
Excellent service from our server Ludwig! He was friendly, courteous, and made great menu suggestions. Visited with a party of 3 on a Sunday afternoon without reservations and was promptly seated. Our food was delicious and came out quickly. We recommend the Fried Chicken Rice Bowl, Lump Crack Cake Sandwich, and the Bolognese!
This is a great location, which means long waits during busy hours, especially on weekends. The inside feels a little crammed and you may have to squeeze your way to the table or the bathroom. Avoid large groups as it may be challenging to sit together, or call ahead to ask. I really like the outdoor seating that they added, most places in Georgetown need to do the same. The food was tasty and came out relatively fast, portions were ok. The service was not bad, but I was hoping for more. We would go back for sure, but there are so many things to explore around Georgetown.
A DC staple that locals (hipsters) love to hate on because it’s a micro chain. This location is great and I always seem to get seated in the atrium next to the fire place. Love the fries and crab cakes. Good selection of draft beers and two nice bars makes it a nice escape from busy Georgetown
Clyde’s was a staple for me from my early 20s to 30s. I arranged a girl’s trip for this past weekend and kicked it off at Clyde’s. It was awesome…hasn’t changed a bit. Juan makes a great whiskey sour and the wait staff was on point. The menu had some changes but that’s typical. Food was good like always. I recommend making reservations as it will be packed. Solid Restaurant!!!
The food here is nice, the crab cakes are the main dish, a bit simple but quite delicious. Our server was fabulous, loved her, and the ambience is fun. If you're touring DC I'd definitely recommend coming here once.
