Love the place, there options for vegans and vegetarians. Would recommend for you to try the pasta 🍝 as simple as it is just pasta and tomato 🍅 sauce, the food is simply delicious. Would recommend the place for a dinner date or even a morning brunch as the food offered has great variety. Tried the 3 course menu, and was surprised by how accommodating the restaurant was. Really a great experience!

The restaurant is much more spacious than it looks and has an excellent welcoming vibe. Staff are all friendly and energetic. I came here by myself and ordered the three course menu, thinking that it was a tasting menu. It turned out to be (and the menu clearly said!) a family table menu, so it came with A LOT of appetizers, which unfortunately I could not finish. However, all the appetizers were surprisingly good. What I think they told me was tomatoes had a very smooth texture and tasted like a hybrid of tomato and peach. Focaccia had a light touch and wasn’t too filling despite the size. I even liked beets that I usually avoid. Fast forward, the entree swordfish steak felt a bit dry and tasted like octopus, but that’s probably because I was already too full and my body was trying to reject incoming food. It came with three sides, Caesar salad, pasta, and bread. Bread was extremely soft and smooth. The dessert, bittersweet chocolate budino (chocolate pudding, huge portion!), was at a perfect sweetness level and added nice bitterness to clear the aftertaste. Overall, the restaurant provides fantastic food for reasonable prices, and I especially recommend it for friends dinner and casual date night.

A great early summer dinner. We got their 3 course dinner with the swordfish. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere welcoming. We ate on the patio, so there were some birds that bothered us at the beginning, but other than that the food was tasty and diverse. Our server was attentive and explained the new items on the menu. The chef sent a few plates our way as gifts and we loved all the food.

I have been to a Irongate before, so I am a repeat customer, but I will say that the last time I went was over 5 years ago; I have to say the least is still a top notch gem of a restaurant in the DMV. I did the dining experience, which is well worth it. You get so much food, and the appetizers alone make for a great conversational and enjoyable start to your evening and even more enjoyable when you’re sharing it with fun friends. For the main course I have the chilean seabass which was cooked to perfection and delightful, even from the first bite. The rustic atmosphere is always enjoyable. I love the patio. I’m not really a fan of the second part of the inside experience. I would ways recommend the patio or first bar area when you walk in. Go and enjoy!!!

This was one of the most incredible meals I’ve ever had. First I will say the restaurant is beautiful, we were seated right in front of a roaring fireplace that was kept going all night and this was glorious. The service was impeccable, nonstop water and wine refilling, table cleaning (yes they actually cleaned the table in between courses), and very kind people. We chose to go with the tasting menu and I would highly recommend it. There was SO much food and each dish was perfect. We left full, relaxed and happy.

One of the best places to eat in DC- great experience, delicious food, great service, fun atmosphere. We did the family style chef’s table and they brought out 4 dishes not on the menu. It was so much food

My friend and I enjoyed lunch here during Restaurant Week. For the appetizer, we savored the Roasted Beets, a traditional Greek salad of golden beets in balsamic vinegar dressing garnished with walnut bits. The Shrimp Saganaki was served boiling hot in its own small frying pan. While waiting for the 6 plump medium large shrimp to cool to eating temperature, we used the provided toasted focaccia strips to soak up the fragrant tomato-feta cheese sauce. For drinks, I enjoyed my sparkling Matamis Charilys Brut, a dry Greek sparkling wine. My friend found her Greek white wine, a Tetramythos Rizes made from the Roditis grape, to grace her food. For dessert, my friend enjoyed but could not finish her Bittersweet Chocolate Budino, a hazelnut flavored pudding. My stone fruit dessert with peaches and plums in a lemon balm sauce amid pieces of soaked and savory cake (it normally comes with a whipped Greek yogurt topping which I needed to omit due to my own dairy allergies). A magnificent meal which left us pleasantly full for the rest of the day.

Iron gate is the perfect place to take your significant other on a date. It's tucked away in a neighborhood like area, but also right by the metro. The dining area is in a open space so come when the weather permits. We sat inside where there's a small bar. The bartenders Tonya and I believe Ariana need a raise. They are so funny and interactive with everyone. The drinks were stellar. The food was chefs kiss. I have not a single complaint. We only sat here because the next reservation was too long of a wait. Im glad we got the full serve at the bar instead. It was the best seat in the house! These two made a perfect duo. The timing of dishes coming out was timely well. It was so much food we had to take get a to go box which they took care for us. Parking can be tricky. You'll need to find street parking or garage parking. Or metro in they have a station within. 5min walk tops Thank you for everything we hope you come give this place a try. I know om bringing my family and friends here next!

We enjoyed a few different craft cocktails here, each one was unique, subtle, delicious, and beautiful. The atmosphere at the bar and on the back patio made for an excellent backdrop! Jeff the bartender was fantastic—friendly, and a pro at shakin’ up these fine concoctions! 🥂✨

Excellent and very interesting place. The menu is a 3 plate course which is excellent for families. Very interesting greek wines. There were a couple of dishes a little too salty but otherwise an amazing experience. The swordfish was out of this world
