The food was fabulous! I loved the variety of choices on the brunch buffet and my favorite was the French toast and waffles. Totally awesome that everyone gets to bring home an entree for dinner, which was amazing.
Loved everything about our dining experience at Georgia Brown's! The food, the live music, the helpful staff, the ambience! I will highly recommend it!
We always have an excellent dining experience! The menu from appetizers to entrees is consistently wonderful and delicious! The wait staff is very professional and knowledgeable with the menu and wine list. We look forward to our next visit!
We had no reservations but was seated immediately. Our waitress was the best...very familiar with menu. The food was delicious.
Traveling by Train from west coast to east....All of the food is excellent. We from L.A. and you know there is a bunch of soul food spots. If you close your eyes while you eat ....well.......Mmmm Mmmm and Mmmmm !
I absolutely loved every thing we had and the service was wonderful. The live music was spectacular and the food was amazing. So glad we came!
That was my first time there and I really enjoyed myself. The food was excellent and the music was great too. They also gave us a goodie bag to take home and I love catfish. The rice was extremely good as well. I will attend that restaurant really soon!! My hat off to you Georgia Brown!!
We were blown away by the food. Came here for a birthday lunch for my partner who misses southern food (don't have any good places where we live now) and were so happy we chose this place. Great portion sizes too, wish we had come for dinner instead so we could have ate more then just waddled back to the hotel.
Service was pretty good, though we were sat away from most other diners so we didn't have someone come by too often.
Almost was a 0 star… first impressions are everything. The young lady who was hosting at the door Saturday 12/23/2023 around 5-6pm was very rude and snarky.
However, we received amazing service from our server, Tishonda which changed our initial impression of this place. Not only was she attentive but she had a great attitude, great personality and dealt with our somewhat challenging group of 8 ppl like a pro.
The food was good.. no complaints here. The deserts were good especially that banana pudding.
10/10 would recommend.
I'd go back. Great place for a date night near the National Mall. We tried the steak salad, shrimp and grits, brussel sprouts, and the side fried chicken. Everything was excellent. Portions were just right. I also ordered a cocktail, which ended up about $133 with gratuity automatically added for you.
There was live jazz music on Wednesday night. Atmosphere was upscale.
I'd leave the kids at home. We were able to get a reservation day of at mid week.
I took a family vacation to DC and this was hands down our best dining experience. The service was exceptional and the food matched. I could not recommend this place more. If you're in DC this is definitely worth adding to your list!
I came here not expecting 6 course of food. However the portions were small I loved the steak and omlete and the waffles. Live jazz music was great and nice ambiance although for the price of $70 starting I wish that included one complimentary mimosa. For unlimited mimosa was additional $30. Also the tax and service fee is pretty steep in DC not fully including waitress tip.
Fantastic food and service! We did make a reservation, so I'm unsure about walk ups.
Drinks were so good -- I ordered a Peach Martini 🍑 and my mom ordered a Kansas City Shuffle -- bourbon and grapefruit juice. Both were very refreshing and I felt like I could have been on a porch swing somewhere and not at a work-related conference over a holiday weekend!
We ordered Deviled Shrimp and the Shrimp Grits. Both were flavored so well, Shrimp were HUGE, and the crab in the Deviled Shrimp was not like anything we'd ever had (we're from Idaho...crab doesn't come that fresh).
The Bread Pudding was over the top amazing. So flavorful -- not soggy -- perfect consistency! Fresh strawberry topping with creamy vanilla ice cream. Imagine the best recipe you've ever had and ramp it up 10 points...that's this bread pudding.
Service was on-point! Our waitress was there checking in on our meal at just-the-right intervals.
The food was amazing with great portions. They have a great happy hour as well get there in the bar or patio. The staff was so attentive from the bar tender, the hostess and the waiter. The manager even came by and gave warm greetings and service. Will be back and bringing some friends and colleagues.
We were in search of some Southern comfort food and boy did this place hit it out of the park. Atmosphere is a little chaotic if you are sitting close to the kitchen area but the food is absolutely amazing. Had the fried steak and it was delicious- brought back memories of the South and that soul food that nana would prepare. Our server was phenomenal and extremely knowledgeable about the food and the kids who are picky eaters also enjoyed the food. If you are looking for flavours of faith in a meal then this is the place I would certainly recommend.
Beautiful restaurant with a great vibe. We went for happy hour, which is a good value. The chicken sandwich was good but not quite what we had hoped for. The catfish fritters were excellent. Some of the best deviled eggs I have had. Service was mixed, with some friendly and some very unfriendly and unresponsive staff.
This was our first time and it was such a good experience. The staff was super polite as soon as we walked in. Decor was beautiful and clean. Omg the food was awesome!! I got the seafood penne. Great spot for date night, group dinner, business lunch.
Spectacular cuisine in the middle of the K Street business district in DC! The city is home for me, but I had to guess joining me from the Midwest. I was a bit disappointed in the time to prepare our meals – we arrived at 4 o’clock (start of rush hour), and didn’t get our entrees until nearly 5:30. But our server was so accommodating - continuing to refill our drinks and suggest appetizers as we waited. Although we didn’t like the delay (we were starved, as we were just coming from a day walking the African-American museum; this was our lunch/dinner), the food definitely made up for the gap once it arrives. Very pleased. And just as we were getting into our entrées, a jazz pianist for gas. It was uber classy and well appreciated. Will definitely come back, but just need to be prepared for any delays in the kitchen.
Diamond was amazing. She made this experience so much worth it. The food was immaculate. They shouldn’t change anything about the mac & cheese. If you guys come here, please try the mac & cheese. The whole red snapper was amazing the stuffed shrimp I mean everything was gorgeous and the waiter was amazing. She was nice it was clean. We had a great time. The drinks were great. It was nothing but vibes.

Everything about this place was awesome! I enjoyed the music, the food and the service were impeccable! I will definitely return when I visit D.C. again! Being from Louisiana, I felt like I was home! And I met Patrick Ewing, who was a class act, friendly and a true gentleman!
We got the country fried steak, fried green tomatoes, catfish fingers, and chili (soup du jour). Everything was delicious! Shane was attentive and anticipated our needs. When we mentioned splitting our entree, I figured we would get the entree and an additional plate. Much to our pleasant surprise, he brought us each a plate with equal portions of the entree. Great customer service! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Georgia Brown's! Looking forward to a return trip!
