This is the greatest coffee shop in the city. The selections are always delicious and the staff is super friendly. I love the atmosphere. A great place to hang.
Stopped in while visiting the area. We were so happy to find this place. The staff was sweet and helpful. We returned a few times during our visit to DC and each time was as great as the first.

Amazing BlackBerry vanilla latte!!!!!! Cute little coffee shop!
After reading The Circlemaker going to this spot was a life goal for me. Coffee was delicious!
This stop has been on my bucket list for a few years. CHECK!! I absolutely loved everything about this place. The baristas were wonderful, the mocha was one of the best, and the atmosphere was relaxing. If I'm ever back in DC, I'll be visiting Ebenezers as again! Thank you Mark Batterson and National Community Church for transforming this place and using the proceeds for outreach. God bless you!!
Soooo much fun drinking coffee and praying circles here with my best friends....the basement is my favorite place in the coffeehouse❤️❤️❤️
Loved this perfect little Coffee shop and great mission behind the business!
I love this place. The staff is always greeting you with a smile or a kind word. The beverages are very good. I think it is much better than some of the chain coffee shops.
I absolutely loved this coffee shop. I came from Arizona just to see it. I was not disappointed! The coffee was amazing. It was comfortable and inviting, and the employees were great.
I have been wanting to visit the coffee shop since reading 'The Circle Maker' so was delighted when my daughter made it happen. I'm here from Nebraska and can now mark it off my bucket list. Quite a remarkable story of God at work
I have wanted to visit ever since I read The Circle Maker several years ago! I came from South Texas and made it my first stop. I loved sitting outside circling my prayers.
This place is epic. Try the coconut cold brew!!!

I have visited Ebenezer's coffee house a handful of times. I'm from the Richmond, Virginia area and I love to take day trips to DC just to visit Ebenezer's. The peaceful atmosphere in the middle of all the business is so very refreshing! And then there's the fabulous coffee. The service is great, the staff are very helpful and accommodating. The downstairs area to drink coffee, meet up with a friend, work on my laptop, read a book, study or simply recharge my phone is comfortable and inviting. If you are looking for a great place to refuel and enjoy the coffee plus atmosphere, Ebenezer's is the place!
This place has an incredible mission and vision! Local business with a purpose is SO important. Check this amazing little gem out! :)
Pretty good coffee and a very peaceful atmosphere! It was raining when I came in and every seat was taken. I asked one of the workers if there was additional seating anywhere and he said there were tables downstairs. So be sure to check out the basement before you! There is a lot of space for a DC coffee shop!
If you go here and don’t get the mushroom and goods turnover, you’re seriously missing out! It’s SO good and the lattes are always executed perfectly. Wish there was more comfy seating, but am usually able to find a place to sit and watch the world go by 🤍
Parking is hard to find, but if you don’t mind a bit of a walk, Capitol Hill parking is doable and lovely to walk around.
My love for coffee shops often takes me to some of the best ones which are also less explored. Just half a mile walk from busy Union Station in DC, is this quaint coffee shop. As you walk towards it, it becomes hard to believe you are in America. It feels like walking in some residential street of London with brick look townhomes and art displays outside houses. Less traffic in that area. And then at one corner is standing this charcoal colored building. Just loved it. Its nice with ample seating, inside & outside. Coffee isvery good. It just feels right to just grab a coffee & croissant and just chill and hang there after a busy day in the city.
My sister and I went on a trip to Washington DC together and tried a few local coffee shops. We love the vibe and atmosphere of Ebenezers! I can’t say much about parking as we took the metro and then walked here, but it was very easy to find. It had such a cool look inside and the service was great, they made our coffee super quick!
Good cappucino, although a touch strong. Same for the latte. But still great quality. Shop has plenty of seating. They have pastries and breakfast sandwiches which are solid.
We noticed several homeless people outside and some even came inside. I understand that they have a heart for helping out with coffee and that’s great. But on the flip side it may make some customers uncomfortable.
What a great find for coffee for our time in DC! The inside is great with lots of seating (if you can’t find any upstairs they have some downstairs and outside). We both ordered one of the seasonal drinks, the Cardamom latte, and it was perfect. The drink wasn’t too sweet which I really appreciate and the latte foam was some of the best I’ve had. Great place to come try and highly recommend paying them a visit.
This is the coolest coffee shop in DC with such a good cause! Wonderfully delightful coffee and very convenient to union station! Happy helpful people working.
Beautiful cafe and not surprised why it has nearly 5 stars. The service is wonderful and staff is very friendly. The menu has a good variety and I like the offerings. Having nice selffserve cold water anytime is a nice option.
Goat Cheese and Mushroom Pastry: Nice pastry, I mean it tasted like how I imagined it, goat cheese and sauteed mushrooms. If you like both of them then your in for a treat, its like 3.75 I think, so its not so expensive either.
Kopi Ginger Latte: Its tasted like a ginger latte, again, I mean its good and tasted like what I imagined, ginger latte… No complaints here and it was fine to drink.
Nice place and good place to relax, chat with friends, or study. The atmosphere is just right and the misic sets a good mood. Great place~
Tl;dr the drinks and service are good. Upstairs has limited seating but lots more downstairs. Come charged bc you might not get a seat with an outlet (only three seats downstairs with outlets). Wifi is hit or miss. But, it's coffee with a cause!
I've been coming to Ebenezers for a little over a year now as my partner has always lived right down the street. It's a great community coffee shop with a particular emphasis on community programs. It's honestly not super clear to me what role they serve but just from my experience, they seem to have a special heart for the homeless living near union station, so for that alone, they get bonus points from me.
My only real complaints are the hours aren't long enough for me as someone who often works late and that their wifi is not always the most reliable, but usually is! Also, downstairs could really use more outlets.
Give them a try :)
A delightful coffee shop with an excellent vibe.
I visited quite late in the afternoon and being a tourist, this is a good place with lots going on nearby.
The service was great and this spot accepts cash!
I would describe the coffee as fantastic and the atmosphere is amazing.
Well worth checking out.
Thank you!
This is an interesting coffee shop about 100 yards to the east of Union Station. There are houses on the street and suddenly there is Ebenezer's on the corner. There are a good amount of outside tables for seating and a couple of tables near the windows inside. The pastry is actually better than the tea and coffee which is not a great feature. Coffee was just OK and although they were advertising Earl Grey tea proudly at the front of the counter, they were out. We settled for OK coffee and English Breakfast tea which is not really a good sub. The cardamom kouign amann was really very nice and the mushroom cheese pastry was also good. For better coffee perhaps go for Blue Bottle inside the station.
My favorite coffeeshop in DC! It's really quaint and local and is very involved in the local community. I believe it's a faith based coffeeshop based on their bookshelf where they sell faith based books. They also have their own coffee brands that are named after DC things like the Red Line!
I always order an Americano or a Cold Brew! They have a rewards program for a free drink every 10 drinks. There is not a lot of seating, but always a lot of people, so if you plan to work or study here, arrive early to claim your spot! Parking also isn't very good as it's on the corner of a residential neighborhood, but that's why I think of it as my local coffeeshop!
Go here. You won't be disappointed.
Great place to work or meet up with a friend to chat. Lattes can be hit or miss depending on staff, but overall I enjoy their oatmilk lattes and seasonal drinks (which are always super creative). I love their almond croissant, but haven't had much of their food otherwise.
Seating outside can be hard to snag but there's almost always spots inside. Plus there's a basement if you really need to put your head down and get some stuff done.
Really nice vibe, good coffee shop music. Cold brew was Delicious!!! So tasty, no milk or sugar needed...for me at least. I'm an odd ball. Try it without anything to truly appreciate the great flavor.
Get the iced dirty chai with soy. So good!! My husband asked the barista to surprise him with any drink and this did not disappoint!
My iced hibiscus tea was also so refreshing and quenched my thirst on a warm day.
Vibes are great here. The staff are lovely and the old building with modern design was pretty neat. Calm place to have a cup and chat in the afternoon.
Ask the barista to surprise you and maybe you’ll find a new favorite drink!
